A little help with visibile orbiters?

Because of the way LOD works, I don\'t think that it would even render when viewed from the ground, even if you made a part with a gargantuan mesh and placed it just over 50km alt.

You could mod all the parts used by the spacecraft to have zero drag. Then you could orbit it just high enough to not hit any mountains (not sure what altitude that would be). Then maybe you could see it from the launchpad.

C7 mentioned that the Mun, and Kerbin, changes to a smaller, closer object when you get far away, but that you can\'t tell and he didn\'t say what distance this happens at.

As ferram4 said they are a separate class of object, as Mr_Orion says, you can only see the distance indicator, even that flare mod won\'t help as it still wouldn\'t render.

I\'ve gotta do this. 8) Thought about it at work after replying. Remember, unfocused ships get vaporized below 23 km.
