  1. Well I guess it's a bit of a consolation to see that it isn't just me. I was thinking about getting a modded Tech Tree with horizontal flight first but screw that. If wheels are borked what's the point?
  2. So this latest patch for sure fixes the science lab transmitting bug? I just had this problem, and deleted my Science Alert folder and it solved my transmitting problem.
  3. So I read that Science Alert can cause this problem. Deleted mod and just transmitted 499 science from Duna orbital station. Thank goodness I got it fixed.
  4. Last night I played the KSP for only the second time in ages (first time after killing Val on the surface of Duna). Basically I was taking stock of my current career and seriously thought about starting over for several minutes. All my Kerbals were in space. My Duna orbiter only had 70 units of mono left. It would never make it back to Kerbin. I dreaded the idea of sending an unmanned vessel all the way out there just to carry mono propellant. There is some kind of bug where I currently cannot transmit any science from the processing labs. And I only had about a million kerbucks in the bank. It was kind of bleak looking. Then I decided to at least try to finish my Eve fly by mission with my little satellite. It had about 1100 DV. So I managed that pretty easy. I actually achieved orbit around Eve. I thought that might be useful. Checking in with the Space Center again, I realized I had the Explore Gilly mission active. Well hell, my Satalite still had 700+ DV left. Let's go for it. I managed to complete the mission and really surprised myself my landing the little thing on Gilly without it breaking! It was actually nearly a perfect landing. Sitting upright on its little thrust nozzle. Well with the money from all that I'm now at about 2.5mil kerbucks and have renewed hope. I was shocked to find Valentina's twin sister in my que of pilots when I returned to the KSC. So she is currently manning a mk3 capsule that will eventually rescue two very stale scientists in orbit of Kerbin. Then there are 2 more scientists that need to come home from Minmus. So I have not lost hope and will try to rescue my very troubled space program and all it's very stale kerbonauts in need of showers.

KSP 1.0.5.1028 (32bit build) Windows 7 64bit Mods: Chatterer, ChuteSafetyIndicator, Contract Configurator, Contract Pack: Field Research, Crowd Sourced Science, Drogue Chute Plus, KAS, KIS, Kerbal Engineer, Kerbal Joint Reinforcement, MechJeb, Science Alert, Smart Parts, Surface Lights, Trigger Tech, Waypoint Manager I just timed my load and it took 32 minutes. This is ridiculous. The first thing to load is chatterer and that takes several minutes by itself. It looks like it's all the mods that are taking forever. Once the loading got into the Squad folders it sped up to what looked like normal load speed. I have updated or at least insured most mods are up to date but some mods I couldn't find (verify current release). I know one mod is giving a warning that I'm using an unsupported build.
  7. Exactly this! There are clear 'skips' in the building progression and I just want 'a' barn because it's perfectly 'kerbal'.
  8. #BringBackTheBarn I loved the idea of the tech 0 barn. I thought it was perfect for the game. I was also shocked at the negative response, from people playing a game about little green men slapping rockets together. I guess the massive vacuum of a humor and whimsy in the playerbase was a bit shocking.
  9. I left Valentina stranded in her lander can on Duna. It fell over and can't right itself. And has no antenna. There are 6 kerbals in orbit but they can't help her. So it is going to be a long wait for a rescue.
  10. Got the pieces to my Duna Station into orbit around the red planet. Unfortunately the station is orbiting in the opposite direction as the stranded kerbal I am supposed to rescue. Also completed a seismic reading contract on Ike with a small probe. Even though I broke off both solar panels I still finished the mission. I was pretty happy about that. Didn't have much fuel left either.
  11. Is there a way to install this and not have it applied to current save files? I want to start a new game with this so I can do a flight first but would like to keep my main save how it is.
  12. Infinite fuel. /hangs head in shame Only in desperate times though! Honest! Okay I also can't land a plane to save my life. I equip chutes. I don't consider mechjeb a confession at this point. Because I can do it all manually now (maybe not very efficiently though) but some things just get tedious. And I do live by F5/F9.
  13. Well thank god I downloaded KIS. When I went to dock my two stages of my Duna station I discovered to my horror that my 2.5m docking port to my puller stage was on backwards! So I sent up a small craft with tools and extra ports asap. After several frustrating trial an errors (before reading the KIS user manual in detail) sessions with Bill I finally got it sorted. I now have 2 separate vessels on their way to Duna but unfortunately they will arrrive nearly 100 days apart. I need to get better at that. The science station will get there unmanned. I will be sending more stuff out there as well. And tonight I need to dowlnload Kerbal alarm clock. Also launched my first survey scanner over the moon. Next step will be to drop some surface probes and refine the search for my first mining expedition.
  14. Yesterday I got the first two stages of my Duna station into LKO. This evening I hope to get the science lab up and a caboose with a few nuke engines to help what would otherwise be a pitiful TWR.
  15. Thank goodness! I was in desperate need of floaties today. Will be downloading when I get home. Hope it works. Everytime I think KSP needs something, low and behold someone has already made it.
  16. Thank you! You just solved my major problems with sub assembly! That is so annoying after spending time designing a stowable lander and then not being able to attach it to the right end or at all!
  17. I had that discovery yesterday with my Munar science lab. Could not figure out what was going on and then saw the message "Sun blocked by Kerbin" haha
  18. Well yesterday, into way to early this morning I accomplished a lot. Put a science base on wheels on Minmus, put a 'throw away' station in orbit of the sun... EXCEPT OH CRAP BILL IS IN THERE! Thank god I had plenty of delta-v on that thing to bring it back and dock with my orbital fuel station. I need Bill to go to Duna. I admit I time accelerated a lot to farm science from my labs. Spent nearly 2000 science last night. Today the Duna mission design and planning starts. P.S. Oh and I finally broke down and DL'd MechJeb for 1.0, because putting things in orbit gets really tedious.
  19. I haven't played in a little over a month and am wondering if I missed some kind of update (or just forgot how to play). It seems no matter what angle I do my Mk16-XL parachutes keep burning up upon reentry to Kerbal. I just did a mission with just the 3 seat command capsule and the parachute on top and it burned up again. How are you supposed to re-enter Kerbin's atmosphere and not lose parachutes? **let me be more specific: the parachute is not 'burning up'. I get no heat meter or whatever upon reentry and it doesn't explode. Everything looks fine until I try to deploy it and then it tells me that the chute was damaged due to heat and aero forces.**
  20. Well that's what it was. RCS tanks clipping through the bottom. I moved them outside the bay and it works now. Thanks.
  21. Well I'm not sure. But yes, sitting on the launchpad the navball is already going crazy as something on the ship is vibrating.
