  1. I love this mod and I use Ckan to keep it uptodate. Loaded the 1.5 version today and had my first Ksp Crash in years. I unapplied the KIS mod and I got a clean startup. I reapplied the mod and got the same crash so I think it is KIS causing the issue. Here is a snipet of the error log. All the crashes had the same .dll causing the access violation. If you need more information I will gladly provide it. Unity Player [version: Unity 5.4.0p4_b15b5ae035b7] mono.dll caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module mono.dll at 0033:dd610e6a. 2. This worked. I had missed one of the manual FInal Frontier installs I had done. Thank you very much.
  3. I am having trouble with getting the correct version of certain mods to load. CKAN is reporting Auto Detect on final frontier mod but KSP AVC is reporting I'm not on the correct version. I have manually deleted the FInal Frontier directory and recopied them to game data but this has not solved the problem. I am not sure how I should fix this.
  4. I have recently started using RCS balancer. Now that I have balanced translations I don't know how I lived without it. I certainly think this should be stock.
  5. Yes this is exactly my issue. My camera can be pointing anywhere and I'm trying to figure out how to align it so I know what direction I'll tilt when I press "w". I am going to try and set one of the landers as a target and see if I have better control just using the nav ball. Thank you for the idea. Well Thank you everyone. Mission accomplished.
  6. This worked very well. I forgot to upload the results of my efforts. I'll do that when I get home from work. Thank you for your help.
  7. First off thank you everyone for your very prompt and fantastic answers. But I don't think I was as clear as I should have been. I have not unlocked any motorized wheels in the tech tree yet and I am trying to land all of my base modules close together so I can connect them with pipes. As you can see I have landed near my other landers but still several hundred meters away. What I was trying to do is just slightly leave the surface and scooch towards the other landers. I was trying to do this by tilting slightly towards the other landers while under a small amount of thrust. If you do not tilt correctly the first time it gets ugly real fast. So Based on this photo and its nav ball what do I need to do to make sure I understand what the WASD keys are going to do? When you are in the VAB placing the fins is there a way to determine the top and bottom of the rocket? You can change your camera angle to be anything so how so you determine top/bottom. I really like this idea for my tugs. Yes this is exactly my issue. My camera can be pointing anywhere and I'm trying to figure out how to align it so I know what direction I'll tilt when I press "w". I am going to try and set one of the landers as a target and see if I have better control just using the nav ball. Thank you for the idea.
  8. What heading do you have to be on so that when you press the "W" key you tilt your ship directly away from you? I have run into problems landing on moons trying to control my craft because I Press the "w" key and instead of tilting away from me it tilts some other direction I did not expect. This is not fun when you are close to the surface. And yes, I know I should be using RCS. Some silly engineer decided we did not need RCS on the lander. Anybody ever put special marker on the outside of the craft so you know its orientation by looking at it? Or am I just confused on how the controls work?
  9. So I am having some of the same EVA orientation issues. For the number of hours I have in to this game EVA still drives me nuts. Sometimes I plop out and the orientation is great WASD makes sense and I quickly go where I want to go. Other times I'm out and the Kerbal never reorients to where the camera is pointing. No matter how many times I hit the space bar. I am always above 80km above kerbin so I don't think the ground orientation is an issue. Several times I have had my target directly over head, I use the mouse to rotate the camera so that I am looking from the feet to the head to the target and I then press the space bar and the Kerbal does not reorient. So I end up doing a head bonk and pray I hit the F key in time. I think this is a critical point that is some how not making sense to me. I thought the whole purpose of the space bar was to reorient your kerbal to be facing the target. I will try some more rescues to see if I can get some good screen shots. I really like the Idea of using the navball.
  10. As far as I have been able to determine you do not need to point the scanner at the planet. However, I always do just to feel like I did my job. If you come back to your sat after fast forwarding I always find my Sat not pointing at the planet. I still get my nice pretty scans. I really like this mod!
  11. Does anyone use this part? For some reason I thought it was omni-directional and I could use it to replace my handy dandy RV-105 RCS Thruster Block . I was completely wrong and I really screwed up my build using it. (Of course I did not figure this out until I had several rockets ready for refuel and realized I could not control my docking at all.) It really is just a one direction RCS port. So my question is when is this ever useful?
  12. I am wondering if this is the Mod I should use to fix my issue with stock KSP. I want to put a Decoupler below a multi-engine stage. In stock KSP I have to do crazy work arounds that don't always work. I am trying to build a rocket that has a multi engine stage coupled on top of another stage. Does this Mod allow you to do that cleanly? Thanks
  13. Posted to wrong forum. Can't figure out how to delete a post.
  14. I found in early career before you get air brakes that reentry is the hardest part. I had to completely relearn how to reenter. I fly shallow and make my capsule light. Also, I used my FL-T200 tank and an LV-T45 engine to slow down my craft while I was in the 30k altitude. I had a really hard time first couple of flights getting the craft below 2000m/s. It's been a couple of weeks since I was at this point in my restarted career mode but I think if I could get the craft down to 1500m/s I was safe. I just kept flying shallower and shallower until I could get the craft that speed. But my best solution is get the science to get air brakes as soon as possible. Here is the link to the wiki on A.I.R.B.R.A.K.E.S
  15. I think the reason the Sat disappeared is a save game reload issue. Weird thing is that I still have scan data and no Sat. I have had no other disappearing vehicles. Thanks for the very prompt reply. I really like this Mod.
  16. So, I have SCANsat running from the beginning of a new career starting with the release of version 1.1. I am now running KSP 1.1.2 and most current version of SCANsat. I use ckan to keep me up to date. I have received exactly two scan missions one was for Kerbin and the other for Minimus both Radar scans. The minimus contract completed successfully. The Kerbin contract never completed the satellite just disappeared from the game. I only have partial data of the kerbin radar scan. Probably only 40% of Kerbin. Here is my issue. I have not seen another scan contract. I am more than half way through the tech tree. Am I just screwed because the Kerbin scan did not complete? I really do not want to start the career over. Do I just need to show some patience? Should I just do the radar scan of Kerbin anyway even though I don't have a contract?
  17. So I hope this is the right place to report this. I got very fired up when I found out KSP had gone final on 1.1 and I started playing again. I cleared out all my installed mods through ckan and reloaded. I use mechjeb, Kerbal Engineer Redux, SCANsat, For Science!, Contracts Window +. I started my career over and began playing. I also manually installed Final Frontier. All of these mods are supposed to work with KSP1.1 Here is my issue. At 6k on every launch my camera lost track of my rocket. I solved my camera issue by removing mods 1 at a time until the problem stopped. The camera losing focus on the rocket stopped when I removed KER. I have put all the other mods back in and I don't have the problem anymore. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I really like KER but I can't use it with this issue. Thanks.
  18. Ok I have searched and failed miserably. How do I make a snazzy Kerbal portrait like this? Also, is there a way to change your kerbals head in the game? Thanks for any pointers in the right direction.
  19. Also, does reputation go down over time? I have completed contracts that show over a thousand reputation but I still only have 693 rep. I also thought I read that reputation is used to get better contract offers.
  20. I had the same issue you had. As soon as I retracted my legs and the wheels were on Duna I finished the contract.
  21. Thank you so much for compiling all these tips. I have found it very helpful.
  22. So First off I really appreciate the help and Ideas. I have found flying my little contraption that it does have a problem when I execute the 4 seperators at the same time. Over half the time it just explodes. With these kinds of results I am just going to go Radially attaching multi engine stages. They are reliable and a heck of a lot easier to build. On a side note I like using multiple LV-Ns because I just hate supper long burn times. I find them a lot like watching paint dry.
  23. I really like the idea of radially attaching the engines. I think I will try that.
  24. Ok I just keep trying this time with small girders. After multiple attempts I got a strut to attach to both sides. I am not at all sure what I did differently. - - - Updated - - - Thank you, Thank you, thank you. I thought I was just losing my mind. Still not sure why I'm having such trouble with struts. See my next post. I was using more engines because I just don't like waiting through long burns.
