  1. Clearing out the rescue contracts from the to do list. Luckily no more whales were encountered. Some of the targets were a tad unwieldy..... However mission control spotted a new button and were able to reduce the problem somewhat. The occupants relatives had to be assured he had already moved into the can.
  2. If the secret of recovery is found it will instantly disappear to be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
  3. Checking if it's really full of stars. Removing ability to scream in space. Disabling Dave's ability to do that. Deleting chemtrail evidence. Initiating player time passage awareness slip subroutine. Muting wife. Error 404 Jeb limitations not found.
  4. Jeb took out the increasing kludgefest that is Airship 1 for a little light contracting. A slight diversion on the return leg allowed the team to obtain science data from the desert and tick off the anomaly in the mountains to boot. Meanwhile the kidnapping rescue missions got underway with Grab 1, designed to return both the victim stranded Kerbal and their pod. Things soon took a turn for the Kerbal..... "Aha our first catch of the day!" "Oh dear" "Ah, Kerbin we have a screenshot problem" "Maybe if we deflated it?"
  5. If you're comfortable with full career carry on. Science career does have the benefit of easing a new player into the parts tree without overwhelming them with choices and limiting their progress due to having to pay the bills. You could start a sandbox save and/or a science save at the same time where you get to try out different stuff without impeding your progress. Think of them as simulations of your career game.
  6. You could try this build, https://ksp.sarbian.com/jenkins/job/MechJeb2-Dev/578/ or a build around this version. Versions from #579 are for 1.1.
  7. Started a new 1.3 career with Community Tech Tree, parts buy in on and reputation rewards set to 10%. An initial concentration on obtaining science parts led to a bit of a grind doing every landed/splashed test contract to obtain enough funds to run around KSC grabbing science from every mini biome to get actual rocket parts followed by more contracts to pay for said parts.... With finances finally on the up and tourist orbit contracts the main breadwinner management finally sanctioned a test airship. The A1 is designed to hoover up all the remaining science from around Kerbin and chase down any anomalies detected by the newly launched orbital scanner. Her two crew have enough supplies for a year and with the electric engines can operate without refuelling. After a couple of test lurches and some fettling in the hanger Jeb felt confident enough to take her out to "discover" the island airstrip. Handling was described as "Gud" but performance got "Well it's faster than walking". And then Jeb glanced at his EC remaining........ The extremely sedate ride back was spent explaining to the design team their failings, the failings of their parents and the likely fate of their offspring.
  8. No expert but one possibility is that you have the latest version of Module Manager, might be worth trying the 2.7.5 version.
  9. Having an issue with the ChemCam. Works fine around the buildings of KSC but once out onto Shores and Grasslands returns a "no terrain in range" message. Is also happening with DMagic's XRD. Edit. Tried on Mun and Duna with same error message.
  10. Having the same issue with the XRD. Works fine around the buildings but tried shores and grasslands and get the "cant touch surface" message. Could this be related to the terrain seam improvements? Side note, this is also happening with the Tarsier Chem Cam (reports no terrain in range bit works around the buildings). Not relevant here bit may give a clue to someone clever.
  11. A little oops now and the does everybody good. Something I always do is try out landers on the Launchpad first to eliminate teething problems. Rovers get a full field test around KSC to check not just drivability but also entry/exit, resetting experiments etc.
  12. The Mun Trotters continued their wanderings, 1 looping across the Polar Crater before heading for the Canyons and the Farside crater before heading south to complete a contract. 2 is closing in on an anomaly in the south and planning to loop back north to Munbase. However unknown to them Universe !.3 has popped into existence the next dimension over. A program so backward they don't even have their own flag or extra shiny stuff (except for Chatterer, for some reason the game feels weird without it) has started up. Having passed the initial phase of chucking stuff upwards (for science) they are now chucking civilians at space (for fun and profit). Current weapon of choice is the T1 Tyro which whilst only being a single seater has the advantage of not killing the self loading cargo. Powered by a detuned Thumper she has proved reliable and litigation free with a lack of flippy flippy bang even without SAS turned on.
  13. With mission control finally coming up with mission plans the two Globetrotter rovers on the Mun burst out ot the confines of the NW crater. Trotter 1 heading north encountered an arch on it's way out before heading for the N Basin. Whilst Trotter 2 heading south ticked off the Armstrong Memorial. Before making short work of the steep climb out. A short run south ticked off a Munolith to give 2 bragging rights for now. The pair are currently heading west and east to complete chemcam contracts whilst eying up detected anomalies in their paths.
  14. No one reads any manual ever. However I think this may be a case of giving the job to a graphic designer rather than a writer....
  15. Aye, and we walked 200 mile across moors 't work and payed 't owner of 't mill fer 't privilege 'o working. When I first started I had zero idea of how anything worked. launching straight up and turning left, putting RCS on planes and many more that I can infer but wish to remain confidential. Then I discovered this forum, now all my errors belong to me.
  16. There was a collective sharp intake of breath when the fully loaded Deliverance 2 was rolled out to the pad (and some distant screaming from finance). The biggest, heaviest costliest in fact every 'est they could think of ship yet launched by this program. Although the go module had already flown with a relay sat payload this was to be its first use in anger carting 2 Globetrotter rovers and 4 crew to the Mun. Launch went well with no dramas leaving the business end in a 200km orbit with ample DV in hand (luckily as it's supposed to get to Duna in the future). Transit to and orbit of the Mun went well. Deciding to plant the cargo in the NW crater rather than anywhere near Munbase she wallowed down to a safe landing before elegantly flopping over. It's supposed to do that. Its job done the engine unit was dispensed with. And the two rovers were disengaged, the mongo reaction wheel rolling her over with ease. The rovers are currently testing systems whilst mission control consult the contract list before planning routes (or heads N tails S.....).
  17. As one of the contracts I had involved a rover cab in orbit one can only assume they are up there for very complicated reasons that have been hushed up. Or aliens. Or possibly some very unusual traffic accidents.
  18. The prototype Deliverance 2 Go Module was hijacked by the comms team. It lofted 4 Overkill 1 relays intended to sit in widely spaced orbits between Kerbin and Duna as a backup system for the future Duna effort. Planning and Finance are currently fighting each other for the right to "have a word". This has led to Val having to fly tourists to Mun and Minmus although a pair of scientists were shoehorned in to activate and check over the bases there. Both bases are functioning well and steadily building up snack supplies ready for full occupation. Jeb meanwhile has lent his skills to the stalled Globetrotter project, after being refused permission to fit moar boosters he took out evaluation chassis for some test runs. However taking out a fully equipped example ran into problems.... Dumping the ore payload instantly solved the problem. Further tests are planned with smaller ore tanks to determine a reasonable all up weight.
  19. Testing started on the heavy exploration rover Globetrotter, designed to wander about on a surface until there's nothing left to find or the crew gets bored. Initial system tests ensured nothing conflicted, fell off or went boom. However mobility testing showed an inability to climb slight inclines which it was felt would adversely impact certain mission parameters. The project has now been reclassified as Bowling Green Surveyor until this slight setback has been rectified.
  20. Wait till you do something really daft....., and yes everybody has been there.
  21. Hopefully they will have used F5 before landing so I don't have to explain to the missus why her car is flat.
  22. Meh, I learnt to fly on grass airfield, take off and land straight into wind no matter the direction. And super soft for those sub optimal landings...
  23. What is really needed is a My Little Rodent mod.
  24. If you have the MJ module on both vessels select control from here on both relevant ports, use SmartA.S.S and select TGT+ on both craft.
