  1. In a fit of enthusiasm and despite the strenuous objections of the finance dept the Deliverance upscale hit the 10m mark. Faced with a bay with plenty of room for wide track modules but also ample headroom the designers took the only logical course..... With the test rigs unloading went well except for the roof of the cargo bay having surprisingly sticky qualities. This was easily solved by opening the doors, although how well this will work in very low gravity will require some simulator time soon.
  2. Little known fact, the Kraken was genetically engineered by the evil corporation that only makes F5 keys.
  3. As a World of Warships player I often find that pressing W makes me go down.
  4. I use the trailer hitch from the Buffalo rover. As long as you get the height in the cargo bay right and use similar base chassis you can build a system where everything can dock with the carrier and with each other as required.
  5. Work continued on base assembly. However someone in the dispatch department didn't read the labels correctly resulting in MunBase receiving V2.1 modules instead of V2.0. Which wasn't picked up on until both LS storage units were emplaced and jacked up. "Err Kerbin that's a major fail repeat we have a major fail situation". Looks like someone's actually going to have to visit with some longer legs and a sonic screwdriver. Still at least the KTV receiver is working....
  6. If I see OP on this forum I assume it's original poster. Unless the discussion refers to mods. On something like the World of Warships forum I assume it's overpowered. Usually followed by OMGPLZNERF because all caps must be taken seriously.
  7. A new space telescope was launched to continue the work of it's little brother. KerbScope 2 is positioned at the edge of Kerbin SOI and tasked with obtaining shots of Duna which will be blown up to poster size as a incentive to the planning department. It also carries 3 relay antenna 'cos relays are the new boosters. Work continues on near Kerbin infrastructure with the first components of the new MoMbase's arriving. Initially on Mun. Followed by the slightly modified V2.1 on Minmus. Whilst performing adequately thoughts are already turning to building a sturdier version with better cross terrain capability for Duna. To carry it a 5m version of Deliverance has been sketched out on the back of a napkin. Although a 10m version has also been pondered on.... The new system would also allow the transport of ready assembled exploration rovers meaning a fully working and stocked base can be deployed before any Kerbal sets foot on the red planet.
  8. The second Sentinel mission was lofted giving a steady source of income and Bruce Kerman plenty of advance warning to get a new vest on. Also stepped up tourist contracts to Mun and Minmus. All this is paying for a rejig of the MOMbase concept. With part numbers increasing to ludicrous levels the decision was made to weld the base MOM chassis and some of the modules into single components onto which the moving parts can be bolted. The existing deployed modules were terminated with extreme prejudice and the design crew motivated. Using advanced techniques such as "thinking" and "light clipping" they were able to not only reduce the part count but also compactify the concept giving a much smaller footprint.
  9. For some reason my first thought was this....
  10. Haven't had any problems dropping science buckets. The payload separation used an action group for decoupling and chute deployment, although I left the cores active with torque turned off.
  11. Perhaps this should be changed to "Minmus is more forgiving" Unless you're driving a fast rover.....
  12. The trouble is the contact mechanism just looks for a part to lob into orbit, likewise with rescue contacts it just selects a command pod. In some ways this is good as it allows parts from mods to be eligible but the system runs into trouble with a few things. In my recent new career I kept getting contracts to run a test on a rover wheel which didn't have the run test option available..... Perhaps there can be an addition to the parts CFG to exclude it from contracts? Now I'm one of those whose PC skills are on a level with my ability to win Miss World so I don't know if this would work so wiser heads please step up.
  13. With the concept validation iteration holding up well at KSC the first missions to establish Munbase were flown. Despite arriving at night the controllers were able to use the PARKERE system to help line up the MOM.s. With the core modules in place mining and ore storage are being prepped for launch. Meanwhile back at KSC trials are being held of a rover docking system to remove the need for EVA's and mucking about with pipes. The engineers have already pointed out they will have to EVA anyway if it keeps breaking wheels...
  14. Mostly the Heisenberg, Also starring some Buffalo parts. This one uses engines from.
  15. Done that so often that nowadays I check the crew tab even when building probes. Nowadays I just keep forgetting the screwdrivers....
  16. Jeb finished his erratic tour of Kerbin with a spot of industrial archaeology. Swinging south he discovered the Pyramids again arriving home in time to find actual space stuff happening. After much poring over pictures and guesswork the resurrected Deliverance was unveiled. It scores over the original in two ways..... It's slightly cheaper. And it has the words "Don't Panic" in large friendly letters on it. Tasked with delivering the modules for the planned Mun and Minmus permanent bases it will be the workhorse for all cargo built to the MOM standard.
  17. Have you tried strutting directly between the boosters top and bottom?
  18. If you were using time acceleration during the aerobrake make sure it's all the way off.
  19. Having a higher viewpoint on my bikes I still see large amounts of drivers faffing about with phones despite the recent stiffening of the penalties. In a bid to keep their stupidity covert they like to keep the phone way down out of sight thus removing their attention even further from the road.... If it weren't for the collateral damage these morons cause I would be willing natural selection to remove them from the gene pool soonest. Mind you the worst excuse for lack of attention I have personally heard was the numpty who pulled out from a side road in front of me (fairly busy 30mph road). Slammed on the anchors and stopped a foot from his window. He winds the window down and casually says "sorry mate was talking to the wife". Was too busy hyperventilating to reply or put my fist through his chronically understaffed cranium. Followed by inserting my Schubert somewhere that would have got his full attention. Schubert is a crash helmet brand not obscure English slang BTW.
  20. English. Standard, Geordie and West Country. Ow bist ol but indeed. Thanks to World of Tanks I can be rude in approximately 37 languages. Italian as long as the words have appeared in Vespa or Lambretta manuals. Can order beer anywhere that serves it.
  21. With everybody on the roster trained to 3 star level, the base design undergoing extended testing and the engineers poring over old pictures of the Deliverance cargo hauler actual missions have tapered off somewhat. So it seemed like a good time for Jeb to grab a newly minted scientist to reset the experiments and do a grand tour collecting all the odd science from Kerbin. Not that it was needed but as I was supposed to be painting the living room walls........ Trips up and down followed by sideways snagged a bunch of those pesky splashed at and flying over scenarios. Not content with this Jeb used the metal in his head to triangulate the locations of the elusive DNS network, as no-one at KSC seemed to know where they were. With some nifty lucky flying signal readings were taken airborne and landed at most of the stations. The crew are currently having some mandated downtime en route to seek out the old KSC and pyramids.
  22. Well my prediction was right..... internet poll without bacon option shortly followed by forum going AWOL......
  23. So what happens if you pay for this "upgrade" and don't like any extra content that Squad might produce? Or come to that if they never produce any more? On a sort of related note I was an early tester on World of Warships and was lucky enough to be gifted a unique reward ship. Every couple of weeks someone comes on the forums there and complains that it's unfair that they can't have one of the two reward ships testers were given.
  24. It doesn't depend on time acceleration as such, its just that unless you sit staring at the screen for ages you wont see the numbers changing. It will keep going in the background until the science is full, once it reaches the limit (500?) the lab will stop producing until it transmits back home. If you let the lab fill right up make sure you have a good antenna and plenty of EC available.
