  1. Landing on Duna with a single NERVA engine and a drogue 'chute:
  2. Granted, however you are the musical variety. You are constantly bashed by UKIP and BNP for your success in the harmonic integration of ebony and ivory, so to speak. I wish UKIP weren't winning the EU vote.
  3. You just might be right there. I've experienced this on occasion, too. Squad might have fixed this already if such is the case, it might already be fixed, as 0.24 is confirmed to improve and add new particle effects .
  4. Granted, but it fires in the opposite way to what you would expect. You potato your face. I wish to bother to actually visit Jool's moons.
  5. Who knows? I might indirectly influence the creation of some kind of hyper-resistant crop by buying something sometime. The user below me has indirectly funded a war. You monster, you.
  6. True, I need a shave. The user below me is a frequent user of Youtube.
  7. False. The user below me also feels we should digress before a religion argument comes a cropper.
  8. Squad are a company that prides themselves on their transparency towards their consumers, and have already stated repeatedly that intelligent life is not and will not be in the game. I trust that they aren't lying, as I trust everything they say. So far, they haven't wronged me. The only hint of intelligent life in the game is certain easter eggs in the game The crashed polar UFO, Vallhenge, the monoliths/munoliths, etc. , however this is all they are: easter eggs, and nothing more.
  9. Oh, I agree with the whole "no militarisation" thing. Some of my replies may not make that clear enough, just thought I'd point it out now.
  10. Granted, but this also removes ambiguity for some reason. Everything is now more boring. I wish the education systems of every country in the G8 would come together and figure why they're so awful.
  11. Maybe the companies (Rockomax, Probodobodyne, Periapsis co., etc.) could also have something to do with this whole idea, in that they give certain contracts related to their parts such as using only that company's engines on a craft to advertise them.
  12. The Stayputnik is a particularly useful probe core, if you need multiple angles for attachment points. Because the top is spherical, there's a multitude of snap points that you can attach a barrage of small parts to, as well as angling the static solar panels correctly without the need for struts or awkward angling. It's also a particularly aerodynamic part when you're using mods such as FAR.
  13. This is a bug, by my guess. It is not programmed into the game, but may be in one of the mods. You also have a lot of these graphics-based mods, some of which may not be compatible with each other or the version of the game you're running. That can lead to problems, stuff like this happens all the time under such circumstances. As for it not being programmed into the game, Squad have said that they don't want intelligent life to be in the game (other than Kerbals, of course). Mods can do it, sure, but it is not and will not be in the stock game. If I recall correctly, it is rumored that there may be an expansion pack in a few years, when the game is finished, that might add things like life and possibly intelligent life, but I can't confirm that.
  14. Just your average KSP mission: KSC: Launch: "Landing":
  15. I think there should be, in career mode, several space agencies with unique priorities and methods etc. which could create a diplomatic system. Ally with some agencies to collaborate and advance faster, or out-perform and de-bunk other agencies that use unconventional methods (such as a lack of regard for Kerbal safety).
  16. I think we need proper rover/probe tools adding to the game. At the moment, sending a probe is pointless because you're so limited in terms of science. Adding things such as laser spectrometers, microscopic analysis of sample scoops, and on-craft cameras is something that needs to be done. The game will be better for it .
  17. Is that TAC Life Support? Whatever it is, it's an addon that modifies Kerbals. What you have here is very likely a bug with the addon rather than the game. Try to contact the addon developer about it or check in the addons section of the forums to see if anyone else has come across/fixed this bug.
  18. I go to the NHS, where they fix it for free . I send out Johnny 5 to disassemble the next poster.
  19. Granted, you complete one more repetition and collapse to the ground in a heap of dehydration and sweat. I wish that no-one can nibble-ise.
  20. I punch the seperatron out of the way. They're tiny. Poor Jeb falls flat on his face. It's a real giggle and we got a great story out of it so we just laughed it off, headed to the Winchester, had a drink, and waited for the whole thing to blow over. I persuade Jeb, in his drunken state, to attack the next user.
  21. True. They're too uppity about it all. The user below me hadn't bought a new keyboard for their PC in >3 years.
  22. Do you care about mission length in KSP? Obviously, that's a very broad question. Let's break it down: What are your views on mission length for unmanned/probe missions? Should they last forever, or have a certain lifespan? Is this determined by the conditions of its environment (eg: in space, in an atmosphere, under high gravitational forces, etc.)? [*]What are your views on mission length for kerbals? How often should a crew rotation be completed for long-term manned projects such as stations and bases? How long can a manned mission go on for before it gets ridiculous? [*]Do you remove debris? If so, after what period of time do you remove them? Do you remove them from the tracking station or with another craft, designed for the purpose? [*]Is there a maximum time for unmanned missions on Kerbin's surface? Is this the same for Kerbin orbit? What about for orbit around Kerbin's moons? [*]Is there a maximum time for manned missions on Kerbin's surface? Is this the same for Kerbin orbit? What about for orbit around Kerbin's moons? I have a lot of questions regarding how players treat time as a factor in the game. Please, share your stories or views on long period missions in the game. Remember that people have a right to an opinion, please refrain from attacking them for it.
  23. False. I was born in the 20th century. When you put it like that, I was born last millennium. Weird. The user below me has more than one clock in the room they are currently in (a useless yet common phenomenon).
  24. Make yourself a folder for backing up KSP saves. Each update, put your save files in here before updating. After updating, copy (not move) one of the saves back into the KSP saves folder. Check that the new update hasn't corrupted the save in any way, then put all the saves back into the folder and delete any copies. Alternatively, you could keep a copy of each save as a backup that you can update either every now and then or before each update (I'd recommend this). Did this help? Did it make sense? I feel like I rambled some. Let me know if I've confused you at any point.
  25. There's a lot of replies on this thread, but I've read the first page. I'll give you the reason in a short, simple answer: HarvesteR's aim of the game is to make it a vast space exploration sandbox with mostly realistic physics (downscaled and with more powerful parts than real life, however, to ease off on the difficulty some) in which a large community can share their accomplishments with each other. If they don't have the same places to go as each other, the community isn't as close. I fully agree. Every person's game of Kerbal Space Program should run exactly the same, with the only variable being their style of play. Obviously, the asteroids are random, but this is a good thing. It's controlled randomness, and if it wasn't semi-random it would defeat the point of the expansion. Is this clear enough, or do you have any further questions?
