  1. If I were to download it and drop it in my GameData folder, would the long loading times be gone? Or hasn't the mod been updated yet? I find I really miss the parts, you made a great mod!
  2. Let's say I'm going straight up, burn slowly and deploy a chute at 5000 meters above ground. Vertical velocity goes negative, chute deploys, and my rocket get completely ripped apart. Every part comes loose. This CAN'T happen in real life, I'm not going that fast. I'm all for realism, but this is too insane. I had to remove the mod. Which is sad, because I noticed how my bottom stage that was lucky enough to still have two fins attached gently float out into the ocean. I like how this mods makes you more careful in your ship's design. I often have the important parts all come down separately with their own chutes. But a rocket coming apart going 80m/s seems... odd. Engine falls off, fins come off, the chute comes off (and then deploys :P), and the most expensive part of my fancy rocket plunges into the ground.
  3. I thought your mod and RealFuels were meant to work together. I kinda need RealFuels since I play on RealSolarSystem and without it I'll never get to orbit.
  4. I love your mod, thanks very much for making it! One question: I just started a new career and noticed the huge potential of the SRB's of your mod in terms of thrust. But once attached to my rocket they barely have enough thrust to get themselves off the ground, let alone thrust my rocket upwards. I'm playing with RealFuels and RealPlume. Could it be that I unlock their full potential later on? They look gorgeous and I'd love to add them, but they only generate about 40kN.
  5. Aaah didn't upgrade that yet, thanks for the heads-up!
  6. Being able to change the altitude at which the chutes deploy inside the VAB would be great. Any plans on doing this? Is there maybe a simple config file I could change to achieve this now?
  7. But that would decrease the realism of my game As long as it happens in real life, I'll have it in my game. Thanks for answering.
  8. I just added this to my more realistic build, and I've noticed when going sideways with a small rocket at 200m/s (horizontal speed), the rocket tears itself apart. I'm just wondering whether that's a bug or I'm just not used to this much realism Edit: more specifically, my rocket is in vertical position, but I'm going almost entirely sideways. All parts are almost immediately torn from each other.
  9. Go inside the "clouds" and "shadows" files of SVE and change all Kerbin/Mun/Duna to Earth/Moon/Mars.
  10. So I have this mod installed on 1.1 with the crack and it works flawlessly. I'm just wondering how to get food from vessel A to vessel B when both vessels are landed on Mars. Which mod would you recommend?
  11. I do. Will delete this right away and see if it's resolved. Thanks for the suggestion! Edit: works perfectly. Thank you very much.
  12. Is it normal to have very long loading times when you click that "Launch" button? For larger ships, it takes up to 20 minutes. Very annoying to wait 20 minutes to launch and then discover a fundamental flaw in your design upon takeoff.
  13. Yes I have. I have also dropped that exact scatterer folder in another install (with regular size solar system): no flickering. It's... interesting. I'll try a completely fresh install later today. The night is still young.
  14. Yeah I've been using SVE, I've been saying RVE by mistake. Don't worry about not being able to help. I hope you're enjoying your new job
  15. Hard to tell. It's always 60fps, and I got it limited to 60fps. But... how? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you don't have the flickering problem anymore. But it's frustrating that I do and you don't, since we both installed RVE
  16. Here's something interesting, ableit puzzling: I reverted back to my normal sized solar system install (the one without an annoying amount of flickering). I replaced the existing scatterer folder with your scatterer folder, hoping to get the good looking planets in my somewhat more realistic playthrough. I fully expected the annoying flickering to return, but to my surprise it didn't. I take this to mean that it isn't scatterer causing the problem, or at least not on its own.
  17. So... you installed SVE using my tips and now your flickering is gone?
  18. Now that you mention it. When I had the regular sized RSS installed I manually configured scatterer using the guidelines on their page. And I did that mainly because the way the water looks is jawdropping. When installing this mod I overwrote everything because of the way their planets look. I'll reinstall using a manually configured scatterer and check the flickering then. I'll get back to you. Edit: problem persists. I don't think there's much you can do but patiently wait until the problems with scatterer are resolved.
  19. You're welcome, I'm glad I could help. Just a quick tip: create a new folder and name it something like "working KSP" and then each time before you start screwing around with mods, cope the entire Kerbal Space Program folder from your steam/steamapps/common file and put it in the "working KSP" folder. Never lose progress again. Oh ok. It's annoying, but that's all it is. I'm assuming the scatterer devs are sorting it out.
  20. I'm assuming this is not in response so my flickering problem? There was, but substantially less.
  21. I have SVE working nicely. Looks good. I downloaded and followed regular install instructions. I then deleted the city lights folder (don't like them). Then I went into the file called "clouds" and manually changed all the names from Kerbin/Mun/Duna to Earth/Moon/Mars respectively. Looks NICE. Edit: Oh, did the same with the "shadows" file.
  22. Did exactly that, nothing changed. Maybe it's worth noting I have SVE installed aswell, but I don't see how that makes a difference. I also had this installed on the regular sized solar system, gave me no issues.
  23. This is how I went about installing the mod: - First I installed sigma dimensions, RSS (including the textures), and kopernicus - Then Distant object, planet shine, and scatterer (yes, seperately, I didn't know it was included in this mod) -Then I downloaded everything from your dropbox folder and threw that in my Gamedata folder (overwriting everything) So basically I did download scatterer seperately, but as I overwrote everything from your download I should have the same content right? I thought you didn't include scatterer in the download, but just some configurations.
