Duna is my favorite. I have a small satellite network, refueling station, and three colonies on the surface. The reason I chose Duna for my primary Kerbal colonies is due to its relative ease of access, plus having a thin atmosphere allows for easy trips to the station and ion gliders. Ike also has a small kethane operation that ships fuel to the Duna station. My next cruiser will probably take a visit and drop some supplies off.

How fast are you docking? I have never shifted my stations enough to make a real difference, maybe pushing the inclination up or down 0.1 degrees. And I rendevous with ships in low orbits like that all the time, it's not as small a window as it may seem.

Yeah, laptops are inherently weak machines, especially with discrete or integrated graphics.

Mechjeb is something you should try to wean yourself off of. Most of the functions can be emulated by flight engineer and the manuever nodes. While the newest version is a lot more manual friendly than versions previous, the autopilot can discourage people from actually playing the game. This is coming from someone who abused it when it first came out. Anyway, to answer your question, if your orbit after encountering the Mun has a periapsis, set up a manuever node at that point and set it up for a burn retrograde until you have a roughly circular orbit. If the trajectory is just a straight path into the surface, burn prograde until your apoapsis is above your target orbit height and circularize at perapsis.

How do you manage to find time to launch all those and get them in their proper orbits?

It's been more of a meltdown than a build-up.

KSPX and KW rocketry. Both of which are well balanced and have general use parts.

Delta-V is a change in velocity. Basically it means more fuel is needed to get an intercept with a given space station. Your posts are probably not going through right away due to moderator approval or something like that.

This is my rather unimpressive space station. The module with the fuel tank and RCS tank is my "life support." Still thinking of how much fuel I should put on the depot module I'm designing.

You have got to be kidding me, especially the whole bit about 'being an elitist.' It is simple fact that the 550ti is a poor value card. The 6850 is a better card hands down. No amount of inane, fallacious, rambling will change that. And cooly, I apologize for high-jacking your thread, and persisting with this argument.

That\'s true, but you still could have bought a GTX 460 or a 6850. 6870 isn\'t worth it in most cases, you can just overclock a 6850 to get the same or better performance than a 6870. Oh, and if I were you, I\'d go for the Phenom II X4 if you haven\'t already bought a CPU.

That\'s terrible. the 550 ti is a really bad value, you can get a better 6850 for the same price. The 550 ti is a 560 with half the shaders lasered off.

Hard drives actually operate better at warmer temperatures, up until about 50C. 100F is actually relatively cool. But hard drives in computer cases stay fairly cool because they dissipate heat to the case.
