  1. (I've posted this before, but that was a long time ago, and I want to get back into the community, so here goes. Sorry if I shouldn't post this again). The Grus III is a long-range SSTO capable of Mun landings, though according to my Delta V calculations it can easily go well beyond that. It can get into orbit very easily due to its high TWR while using its Rapier engines. Its (roughly) estimated Delta V in LKO is about 4,150 m/s (usually a little less). Specifications: Part Count: 97 Mass: 80.545t Height: 5.8m Width: 22.8m Length: 25.6m Here it is on The Mun. It can make the trip easily as it was designed for bigger missions. It is also equipped with four science experiments, located on the belly of the craft. Here it is in the SPH. Some (kinda) strange features are its extra pair of engines. While very helpful during the initial ascent, extra reaction wheels are needed in space to prevent the Grus III from flipping all over the place due to the weird Center of Thrust. (At least this isn't the case with the nukes, though. That would be bad.) The Grus III completed the Mun trip with quite a bit of fuel left over.   2. I was wondering about the delta v to Laythe and back with gravity assists. Would 4,143 m/s delta be adequate to get to Laythe with gravity assists?
  3. I'm tired of calculating delta V by myself, and my results are never the exact. So, I want to get kerbal engineer so I can use the delta V readouts. However, I use a mac, and I haven't modded with KSP before, so how would I go about installing it on a mac?
  4. It doesn't work for me. Did I accidentally disable them or something? I can see contracts, but no world firsts, and I've never seen them there before.

So, I've been playing KSP for a while now, and in my main career save I've developed an SSTO rocket that is kind of my go-to when launching payloads now (except that I usually use an expendable variation simply because I'm lazy). However, it lands with the use of parachutes, and I want to try something a little more difficult and interesting, specifically having a booster that doesn't use parachutes. Any tips for making a practical reusable booster like this?
  6. So, when I've watched others play KSP, I've occasionally seen them get world firsts, like first orbit of Duna, First Mun landing, etc. However, I've never gotten one of these. Is this normal? Is it a contract? How do I make them appear? (And I do play in career).

  8. I've tried making copies and moving it to the save, but it doesn't show up. I want to have one of my craft in a new save, but also in the old save. Is it possible?
  9. I have attempted to use the KEKKJ route to get to Laythe before, but I wasn't able to make it without using a lot more fuel than I would like. What kind of transfer window would be optimal for the route, and are there any other things that I would need to know to do this with minimal Delta V?
  10. I have been trying to take my SSTO to Jool, and I am trying to use the KEKKJ route. The problem is I can only get a Jool encounter by using an assist that would send me crashing to the ground on Kerbin, and any correction burn costs too much Delta V. How would I fix this and send my kerbals too Jool without using all my fuel for a correction burn?

  15. Sadly, I don't think it can. It can only just reach the Mun, and it doesn't have the DV to make it to Duna it. I am planning on making a Duna SSTO, though. Edit: Actually, it probably could reach Duna, just not land on it. (Which is what I thought you were asking about, sorry for the misunderstanding)

Specifications: Part Count: 88 Mass: 72.560t Height: 4.6m Width: 22.8m Length: 20m Here it is on the Mun. It can make the trip no problem. Here it is after a successful Mun trip, back on the runway. Here it is in the SPH. Here you can really get an idea of its shape. This flies nice and stable, and I really like the wing shape, it might be my new favorite craft.

  18. This is my Lammergeier SSTO, capable of taking 6 kerbals to Minmus and back. Here it is in the SPH. My favorite thing about this is the wing shape.
  19. Yup, 4 rapiers and 2 nukes. The wings do wobble a bit, but it stays stable and flies fine.
  20. This is my first spacecraft exchange, i have have always wanted to share my SSTO with the world. SSTO Lammergeier Specifications: Part Count, 93 Mass, 68.362t Height, 4.5m Width, 20.5m Length, 19.7m This my SSTO, the Lammergeier, seen here on Minmus Here it is in the SPH, and you can see its interesting wing shape. Here it is back on Kerbin after its voyage to Minmus, it has made the trip a couple of times and hasn't failed me yet. Thank you.
