  1. Using 1.0.4. Have a lot of mods but most are ones I've used before and are properly updated.   3. Redneck - this looks great! Honestly, I was never as big a fan of XR-1. I'm all about the Ravenstar though. I'm desperate to fly the XR-2 as my second shuttle program. (I do alt-histories with my programs and I really need an SSTO to replace the KSO when the time comes. As far as which skin to go with - you're gonna get a million suggestions so mine won't bother you too much, hopefully. I'd go with this one http://www.orbithangar.com/addonpics/XR2Boeing.png and dump the Boeing lettering. Maybe replace it with an ALTEA or leave it as a flag setup. Then again, it's tough to go wrong with white, gray, or black. If there's any way I can help with this, let me know. I'm learning Unity and I'm not bad with coding. I'd love to give you a hand if I can. Awesome work so far. My advice - don't go crazy with the controls and IVA. From past experience, it's easier just to complicate a mod that works than it is to make a complicated mod. If I get to launch components for a long-range space cruiser with an XR-2 with my own flag and name on the side of it - that would literally be the realization of what I've dreamed of since I started playing KSP.
  4. Devo, always good to see you. For what it's worth, I'd really like to get the Mech-Pod Mk 1 up and going again. I was gonna use it as a pod for my 2001: A Space Odyssey - Discovery ship. If you get a chance, that's my request. Along with the Freelancer Rover.

  6. So, I'm just coming back to KSP after being away for a couple months. Is the latest with KSO that it's functional in 1.0.4 but that there are stability issues on reentry? Is that the general consensus or am I misreading the boards. If that is the case, is anyone close to a fix?
  7. Is the MEM currently working for 1.0.4? I loved how it looks like the LEM without looking EXACTLY like the LEM.
  8. Also, was gonna recommend a landing pad of some sort. Just a flat plate you can deploy on one side of the base. Maybe in a later edition it could be a runway...
  9. Angel - Just a request, but I'm hoping that you don't go too far with the dangit type of faults and failures that come up. I think Dangit is an awesome program, but I don't use it in all my games. In the same way, I don't use interplanetary launch pads (though I'm thinking of getting into it). I'd love there to be a version or option for Pathfinder that just lets you deploy with KAS and KIS and then stays relatively stable. Call it a dumb-dumb version? Also, a mild suggestion, color coding of the structures could be helpful. It'd be a quick way of knowing which structure you're looking at from the outside in case you get turned around doing an EVA. I like the PONDEROSA lettering on the side, but I'm gonna be building these a lot of different places. As a down-the-road idea, it'd be cool to be able to label them differently. Anyways, just throwing ideas out there. Can't wait to play this, it looks super-good!
  10. I'm trying to figure out how I can record videos of my KSP gameplay and upload them to youtube. I've seen a ton of Kerbal videos there and I'd like to record my own. I use a windows laptop (relatively high performance but not super - my framerate is fine with a decent amount of mods) My goals are to: 1) Record video of my KSP gameplay, including with audio commentary that I would provide, either during or after gameplay 2) Edit that video for time (i.e. speed up building and some of the more dull parts of flights) 3) If possible, I'd like to add labels on screen to show basic things like the mission name and objectives. So, my 3 questions are: 1) Is there a video recording program out there that is free (or relatively cheap, say, under 25$) and is simple to use? 2) If so, where do I get it and can you tell me some of the basics that I'd need to know? 3) Would I need to get an independent microphone or is it sufficient just to talk into my webcam?

It unlocks all components so that you can explore the Kerbin system unhindered. The idea is to use science points as a scorekeeping device. Since the points do not have to be spent, you can track your progress solely from the perspective of exploration. Essentially this is a standard science game, I have a custom difficulty setting.   12. I'm trying to figure out a way that I can play in sandbox mode, but still have science reports generated by experiments in the field. I'd like to be able to build whatever I want (no unlocking of parts) but to still be able to track my progress by having a record of the science that I've done in various places. It would be a hybrid play mode that would allow for progress to be measured. Anyone have an idea for a way to make that work? Ideally I'd like to do the same with having experience points for Kerbals that go flying, but that's a secondary thing to me.
  13. That worked. Thanks for the idea. My rover was still high-centered, so I had to push it off the block, but once I got the wheels on the ground, it was just how I wanted it. Thanks!!!

Wow, I've got a ton of ideas, some sci-fi, some real, some just plain cool Farscape I XR-2 Ravenstar from Orbiter X-20 and X-15 (real USAF projects from the 1960's) And the USSR version of the X-20 Also, there's some really good designs from the Apollo Applications program that I can show you if you're interested. And then rover designs that I've been wanting to make and a motorcycle for Duna There was also this rover that I actually built in college. Always wanted to drive it on Duna. It's got a drill as well. And I, for one, would love to get the old MechJeb probe back There's also a Dream Chaser mod out there that could use a good update.

I'm starting to work on a terrain mod that would look like Devil's Tower in Wyoming (the place at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind). Before I got too far down the road with it, I was curious if this mod had already done something like that in one of it's many sections. Can anyone tell me?

  17. Was using this to build a rover - just as a trial run. Basically went okay, but I used the ground anchor to have a platform for the chassis and now I can't get the block off the bottom of the rover. Any advice? How can I avoid this in the future?
  18. I took a trip out to Wyoming this weekend to go to Devil's Tower - the place at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Squad - this would be an awesome place to add to the geography of Kerbin or another planet. It's an interesting geologic formation. It's not like it has to be exact. An approximation would be good enough. It'd also be a fun companion piece to the Mun arches. Could be a fun thing to find on Duna...
  19. I'm relatively new to this mod. Just had a couple of quick questions. I like to build my long-haul cruisers in pieces in orbit. Will this mod let me completely disassemble and reassemble spacecraft on EVA? I do the same for rovers on mun and planet surfaces. Is this the kind of thing that will let me build rovers out of just the basic parts? Is there any way to build a rover in the VAB or SPL and store the completed assembly within a container to be driven around later?
  20. Yeah, as a mod tweaker, it'd be nice to have download areas for the mods. Devo, I think I speak for everyone when I'd say we'd be happy to test out our favorites and help you get everything updated...
