  1. I dare to say, that this thing won't fly. Do you have any screenshots to prove me wrong?
  2. Protips: - Be unique. Seeing someone just shooting some average stuff into space... no need to watch that, seen it before. - Prepare your commentary a bit. Nothing worse than someone just mumbling to himself. What I liked: + You announce what you will do in the livestream. (Reusable and so on). + You seem to have an average framerate which is good for a livestream. Would love to see more.
  3. I see the problem in the center of mass not being aligned with the center of thrust in this case. Which engines do you start and can you show me a screenshot from the side of that thing?
  4. Basically most "famous" youtuber ever. Fanboys, fanboys everywhere.
  5. Well with that, you should get into orbit properly to be honest. 25km and 1600 m/s? That definately should be enough. What Rocket engines do you use?
  6. You never loosed a Kerbal. Are you sure about this?
  7. Give me a reason to watch you playing ksp instead of playing it myself in the meantime.
  8. Pumpkin How would you enter your self built spaceship in real life?
  9. I haven't used any plugins until now. But in this case I might try something like that out. Thanks for the link.
  10. I go with the guy above, for the same reason. Seriously, Who did ever use this? It's like an engine for ants! Wait a sec...
  11. In my opinion, SSTO planes are like a more difficult class... like a higher difficulty setting for the game. Build one with the given symmetry and you might manage to get to Orbit after a while. Start adding tanks on top so the point of mass, -thrust go ape**** and you might have gotten to a high end playstyle. Try to make it good looking at the same time, it gets even harder. So, I dare to say, they will be more important, efficient and most of all easier to use when there are more fuselage and aerodynamic parts. For example a fuselagepart with oxidizer within, or one with RCS. So far cpt_nosh
  12. My newest project on its way to space. Completely stock, still in optimization though. In orbit now.
  13. Remembered me of my first SSTO. But yeah, that's the great thing about Ksp... if you actually achieve a target you set yourself. Good job!
  14. This deserves an "insayan". Haven't seen something comparable recently. Most of all, it's the combination between usability and nice looking that makes it unique. Good job!
  15. Thank your very much for the great feedback! Since I apparently haven't read the thread introduction properly makes it even better to get such a great feedback nevertheless. The refueling itself happened before I found this thread and wasn't actually necessary to begin with. I then shall do another flight to orbit and back and mostly... rename it. Thanks again! Regards cpt_nosh
  16. I just stumbled across this thread and saw it as an opportunity to add my favorite SSTO to the compilation with the requested screenshots. So I may present you Concept 4. (Yet to be named better...) Fresh off the manufacturing site, after some test flights, I decided that it's ready to launch into Orbit for a rendezvous with Argus Station. Successfully went into orbit with 5 ram jets two aero spikes and one normal liquid fuel engine. After a long time of docking and the appearance of new parts in .20, I decided that Argus station came at its end of duration and let it fell back to earth. Only then I found this thread and was glad that I at least let Concept 4 orbiting. Still orbiting, but about to go back to Kerbin. After quite a period, Concept 4 is on a very long final on RWY 09. After a bit of coming in too high, I decided to extend my approach and come in via RWY 27. It's not right on the center line, but well... I am still learning. If you wonder what I targeted on the Navball, it's an basically just a probe at the end of the runway which lets me make "instrumental" approaches during nighttime. Comes in handy sometimes. Thanks for your attention. Facts of the flight: Orbit around 98 km altitude, refueled at Argus station, let the station fell back (Don't worry the other SSTO's were brought back to Kerbin Station beforehand;)), landed successfully on RWY 27. If you have questions, I'd be glad to answer them. Yours sincerely cpt_nosh
  17. Nevertheless one of the most interesting, never thought about that.
  18. Okay, Since I'm just using vanilla ksp via steam and am rather new to this marvel of a game, I'm not sure if I can tell you about the possible payload, nor the glide range (This one I might find out by trying out?). To the further details: It has 5 ram jet engines which will be shut down from the out side to the inside, so I have the maximum use of them. After I shut down the first two, I ignite the liquid fuel engines and the last ram jet will be in use until it flames out by itself, then I shut down the air intakes aswell for less drag. While ascend I normally move a big load of fuel to the front so it flys even smoother. To be honest, I made easier ones to fly. But in this case, the optics will have to pay it's price. The thing with the fuel is, until Orbit I use quite a lot and the rest is for mostly for keeping balance. But you could probably do with less of course. Again: It's not the most economic, but looks rather decent in my opinion. To the construction I have to say, since I had my good problems with keeping the center of mass within the limits and on the other hand making the outside looking all right, I decided to kinda use the "flaws" of the game and for adding the rcs balls, the ram intakes and two rocket fuel parts inside the jet hull. (The fact that this even is possible was only found out last Sunday... ) So I don't know, is this an accepted method or will there be flaming all over the place? If you want I could upload some more screenshots and if you tell me how to get it, probably even the .craft file? Yours sincerely cpt_nosh
  19. Wow, thanks for the great feedback, I will try to answer all of the questions asap! Thanks again for the appreciation!
