  1. I just got a chance to watch (missed it yesterday and been really busy so didn't have a chance to get to it until now). I noticed at ~21:01 to 21:04/21:05 in the video, something whizzes past the F9 core while it's on its way back to land. Anyone know what that was? Here's a link to the video at around that time: https://youtu.be/PhTbzc-BqKs?t=1263 It looks dark when against the blue of the planet, but almost grey when it gets into the darkness of space. Chunk of ice? Meteorite? Satellite? It moves past really quickly and doesn't really appear to come from the stage, but below it.
  2. Fairing recovery Unsuccessful due to excessive wind shear at the landing zone.
  3. In regards to your question regarding Air Force rank: https://www.federalpay.org/military/air-force/ranks Lieutenant General is an 0-9 rank whereas General is 0-10 or 1 rank higher in the Air Force.
  4. If it were me playing on console, I'd assume I'm going to lose my saves when I get the new Kerbal Space Program; the game Blitworks will be delivering appears to be an entire re-write from what was delivered by Flying Tiger (and you should be thankful of that from what I've heard). Perhaps the save structure will remain the same, but I wouldn't bet on it at all...
  5. Just going to drop this here...potentially Meteor re-entering: https://twitter.com/ThatJetsetGirl/status/935569848507170817/
  6. Perfect landing, now time to get 'er off the pad before the hurricane rolls in.
  7. Good stage separation and second stage ignition.
  8. I would think it'd be considered a mission failure (Payload is the actual mission) with secondary objective (landing booster) successful
  9. I wish that footage hadn't cut out from OCISLY...I bet that landing was HAIRY. When the footage froze it look like the engine was kicking up waves off the side of the barge, then there were scorch marks all the way across to the other side, then S1 was sitting off-center. Crazy!

  11. I just found a link to Elon Musk's Mars colonization vision paper published in New Space online journal: http://online.liebertpub.com/doi/full/10.1089/space.2017.29009.emu It can be accessed for free up until July 5th. Enjoy!
  12. Thanks for the correction. In the end, the whole bruhaha started due to misunderstandings of the terms "all future UPDATES for free" and what that means. Personally, I think that SQUAD was pretty generous giving out what they did, considering DLC or Expansion Packs have nothing to do with an iterative development process that continually pushes out "future updates".
  13. What @Vanamonde posted is exactly the issue. I purchased my copy in May or June of 2013 so I'm on the outside looking in at the free DLC (by a Month or 2) as well, but no hard feelings on my side. I saw the option on STEAM in April but held off 2 months before my purchase. My fault for not picking it up a few months earlier. If SQUAD were to extend it to all purchasers in 2013, the people who purchased in 2014 would be upset: "Well, SQUAD stretched out the free DLC to all of 2013, why not all of 2014; I bought my copy Jan 1, 2014...why don't I deserve free stuff!?!" It's not worth it. Besides, IIRC the whole "free DLC" stuff came out of an MIS-STATEMENT (or perhaps better defined as a very loosely worded statement) on the forums by a dev at the time in 2013 stating that all future content would be free. At the time, I believe the dev was referring to version updates (this was back in the Wild West days of Early Access, where some people were worried about having to PURCHASE the product UPDATES) but his statement was misconstrued/mistaken to be referring to DLC. Once that happened, the feces hit the fan so to speak and they (SQUAD) ended up offering DLC free as well to quell the forum uprising that was occurring. (Please someone correct if I'm mis-remembering this whole thing, I never went back to re-read the thread). TL;DR: I bought in May or June 2013 and I don't agree that the free DLC should be expanded any further than April of 2013 like SQUAD had previously guaranteed. IMO the "free DLC" debacle was a huge misunderstanding in which a bunch of people are already getting free stuff from which (IMO based on the situation at the time) isn't really even warranted based on an overreaction and misunderstanding. Now that it has been guaranteed though, I do believe SQUAD should have to follow through on their promise.
  14. Yep, sorry...misread your post. I thought GTA was included in that list, not the single exclusion. The link from @Yakuzi, however, makes it seem like micro transactions are coming, at least for more TTI games (no specific mention of KSP though). And just to be clear, I've got no real dog in this fight. I am a proud fan of Paradox Interactive, so DLC and what could be called "micro transactions" aren't a huge bother to me. If I don't want it, I just don't buy it...simple as that.
  15. Not to be a pedant, but I believe GTA Online has or at least at one time HAD micro transactions unless they've moved away from the "Shark Cards" they had on launch.
