  1. Congrats Das, great get for both your channel and KSP in general!
  2. I just checked this entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_subsidies And scrolled down to United States and found this: Which shows me that in the present (last 3 - 5 years), we've (U.S.) been spending a larger percent of subsidies on renewable energy and energy efficiency. Then I read a bit further down and find this: Which tells me that the trend I was seeing the previous data was something of a recent event and the 'apparent' renewable fuel subsidy that was given in the past was related to corn-based ethanol production (a net loser in the long run, but a money-maker for the ethanol gas companies). Then take into account (in the US at least) the permanent subsidies that are built in to the tax codes for things like oil and coal. When coal was a start-up industry (in the U.S.) in the late 1700s, it was given tax-free status, smelting was given incentives, and competing old-world coal imports were taxed at 10 percent. Four centuries later, coal is still receiving $5 billion in incentives a year. The result is coal-fired electricity at about US $0.04 per kilowatt-hour (when burned in power plants that are already built, the costs of which have already been passed along to ratepayers). Meanwhile, solar, wind and renewable energies get things like start/stop subsidies that need to be renewed yearly or every few years on average. This uncertainty drives markets higher because they never know if the support will be there in the future (uncertainty). Another example would be the electric car market and what Cheverolet <link to IMDB - Who killed the electric car> did to the electric car way back in the 90's. That in itself was one of the biggest subsidies the oil companies could ever get!
  3. I would challenge you to actually dig in and see how much the government "funds" Oil & Fossil Fuels on a yearly basis. The amount of money put into the solar energy market by the government is a pittance compared to the giveaways that occur to big fossil fuels every single day.
  4. I believe that was a limited time offer and happened right around the time that KSP was made available on STEAM (so like .20-.21 range IIRC). E: Also, congrats on the move to experimentals SQUAD! Good luck squashing them bugs!
  5. That plume expansion into an 8 pointed "star" (with a single flame in the center) was amazing looking!
  6. Congrats on the Modding Mondays mention. Awesome looking mod!
  7. WOW, glad I've taken a bit of a break from KSP lately. Looks like in the future I'll either be playing un-modded or wait until another sufficient location is found to house mods. I will not use that outhouse of an advertisement and malware pusher that is Curse ever again. Edit: And thanks to @SirCmpwn for all his tireless effort and monetary contribution to this game that we all love. Sorry the constant negativity of things overwhelmed the massively positive thing you did for all of us who use mods.
  8. Full of what appears to be Dell monitors. Dude, they needed Dell!
  9. South Korea may have recovered some debris (looks like fairing, pics in the story) from the rocket: http://www.nbcnews.com/news/photo/photos-purportedly-show-north-korea-s-rocket-debris-n514451 It was found on the far southern portion of the Korean peninsula.
  10. Quoting myself from page 217 (yes, 1 page back...):
  11. I think if you browse through the thread a bit you'd find this issue coming up a lot. I believe each time it's been linked to a bug in core KSP rather than anything wrong with EVE. I don't believe anything can be done about it...at least not by Rbray89
  12. Saw Lemmy and Motörhead play at Ozzfest in 1998 in Sommerset Wisconsin. Phenomenal show. Agreed. I had heard Motörhead before via CD/Cassette Tape (IKR, how old!) but that Ozzfest was the first time I'd ever seen them live. So powerful with no BS frills or facepaints. Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath (and solo artist) fame, along with Billy Joe Armstrong (Green Day) both point to Lemmy as inspirations in their music, as well as (in Ozzy's case) close friends. It's a shame that Motörhead has not been recognized in the same manner both these bands have been (R&R Hall of Fame), they (and Lemmy by proxy) are equally worthy if not moreso. I'm sure there are also many, many more examples of bands who'd consider their music directly influenced by Lemmy. Megadeth, Metallica (though the latter'd never admit it) and even many hard rock/metal bands of today owe at least some of their fame to what Motörhead did.
  13. That was amazing to watch! Congratulations SpaceX and all involved!
  14. I have saved many a Mun mission this way. DMagic's Magnetometer can be a life-saver in these situations. Yep, Magnetometer is from DMagic Orbital Science mod.
  15. Gone for me now though...change must've just taken a bit to propagate to me.
  16. Really? I just got it when coming back to check on this page...
  17. Kasper~ Each time I navigate to a page on forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com I get a popup authentication message like follows: http://i.imgur.com/kaqQRHK.png
  18. If that is in response to the contract tie in, I do as well; I thought it'd be a nice little bonus to those using USI-LS in career. Plus, it'd act as almost a built-in notification of supplies getting low if players check their available contracts.
  19. @RoverDude Do you have any plans on implementing (or has it been done) some sorts of re-supply mission framework that can tie into the newer contextual contracts that were added by Arsonide recently? Something like a contract to send re-supply to ground bases or space stations that are within a certain established range of running out of supply? Sorry if this has been answered already, I was unable to find any mention of it.
  20. Yep, I bet magico13 is correct...the control device rule only matters once you go outside the 22m distance requirement or w/e.
  21. I believe you need a control device of some sort (HECS, OCTO core, etc...) attached to the stuff you want to recover if you disconnect it from your primary vehicle, otherwise it's considered junk.
  22. Agreed. I can't even count the number of times I reflexively typed "forums.kerbalspaceprogram.com" into the URL and hit ENTER only to then realize the forums were down for maintenance.
  23. Congrats on the new forum migration. Good luck hunting down the other issues.
  24. blackrack did Scatterer. I would also add Proot to the list with his awesome Renaissance Compilation (which is mainly just textures for TR/EVE and .cfgs for PlanetShine, DOE, etc..)
  25. To further clarify Starhawk's post, 1.0.5 has NOT been released as of yet. The announcement yesterday in the Dev Notes was that it will be going into QA soon. QA will have it for an unspecified amount of time, then it's on to the Experimentals team. Once they're finished with it, SQUAD will release 1.0.5 to the world and STEAM will auto-update for you.
