CoL in VAB doesn't work

that only used to work if you put wings on your craft -
Time to Apoapsis/Perapsis?

you must upgrade the buildings for that in career. -
Should NASA return to the Moon instead of doing ARM?
Beduino replied to FishInferno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
We have no evidence for any of these ideas of course, but if life is somewhat a property of the universe and life as we know it is not as rare as we think. The universe could be teeming with life including planets around the near-most stars at this very moment. -
Should NASA return to the Moon instead of doing ARM?
Beduino replied to FishInferno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
China is getting ready for manned moon mission really. That's their ultimate goal, maybe they can plan mars right after that. You are contradicting yourself saying that money is relevant and things are only going to happen through cooperation between countries. As soon as we leave our planet there's no banks and no money and no 100% chance of getting back. I'm going to say it again, USA is hyper inflated and cost is relative. Not many decades ago 5 dollars was big money you know! -
Should NASA return to the Moon instead of doing ARM?
Beduino replied to FishInferno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
You can say whatever you want, but lets say that an individual country decides to boost its space program and lands on mars manned before USA, you are telling me it's not going to change anything in that country policy related to space program investment. Right alien space ships.. why not, aren't we humans all aliens anyway. You are still thinking you live in the center of the universe or something. - - - Updated - - - Sure you can have both. Money isn't relevant really, monetary value and cost is relative really. See India space program costs. What matters is we humans doing the right things for the right reasons. It's full of aliens out there man. http://listverse.com/2013/03/10/10-insects-that-belong-in-an-alien-world/ -
Should NASA return to the Moon instead of doing ARM?
Beduino replied to FishInferno's topic in Science & Spaceflight
You both nailed. Two other things that would boost the space exploration in general would be competition from other countries and agencies Also if we find aliens I mean alien spaceships, alien signals or alien planets. -
Make it 10 prizes we deserve it.

apparently it was the dust effects.

LOL totally see it coming AAA gamer mentality - - - Updated - - - totally makes me laugh that we have a faster than light mod for ksp but no other star to go to.

Well KSP is still really fun game/great to teach astronomy/physics and stuff and at least I am not going to review it badly for missing lots of stuff, but still makes me angry what it's missing just seeing that Space Engine for instance only uses around 1 GB RAM on my machine. :/ So much fun for space exploration

Hey dusty landing and 1998 looking ocean water, no delta v reading, no PE AP outside map view Edit: No clouds ;/

Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Okey decided to learn some more of Unity and in a kerbal like way try the physics performance again. + Terrain + 1 Rocket (165 cylinders) using fixed joints (which are kind wobbly but at least the rocket explodes) + 5 White Stations 140 cylinders each plus configurable joints (set to work as fixed joint should, all motion axis locked and projection mode is set to very small values for position and rotation) Rocket and one White Station is driven by adding forces. + 3 orange kraken like contraptions containing each 265 cylinders and a combination of fixed and spring joints with collisions between bodies enabled. + Floaty and static objects All joints are breakable. Total ~1700 physics objects. 30 FPS average with fluid physics most of time. -
ULAs recoverable engines looks much better than landing in a barge from SpaceX

Just found some awesome way to land on low-g worlds with KAS
Beduino replied to cicatrix's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Securing yourself with hooks is actually very useful if you want to set up a crane in low gravity. The crane can be very small and low mass and still lift huge massive parts. -
Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
as per http://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/UpgradeGuide5-Physics.html "Unity 5.0 physics could be expected to work up to 2x faster than in previous versions" Im thinking more like proactive here.. let's use Unity 5 and optimize the hell out of KSP, because it shows much promise. -

Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Actually the demo is fully 3d simulation much like in KSP in term of physics.. There's a gravity vector in 3D i can change it to any direction. -
Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Maybe (ill try to do more tests on that) but that doesn't explain why simple stationary orbital stations with 250-500 parts are already lagging hell in KSP. But anyway what you see as a rocket is just a bunch of cylinders attached together with joints with a force applied, much like in the test video. -
Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Actually PhysX can use multiple threads on CPU too. Here's a simulation of KSP like physics in Unity 5. It's somewhat the equivalent of 5 KSP Ships with 265 parts each. "5 contraptions containing each 265 mesh colliders cylinders (approximately) and associated breakable joints with collisions between bodies enabled. Total of 1325 cylinders. 30 FPS while recording 60 FPS when not recording" -
Unity 5 [Is now available]
Beduino replied to NoMrBond's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I was having fun these days learning Unity 5 so I decided to test the physics performance. Created the physics equivalent of a ship with 800 parts plus the associated joints of different kinds. Shadows + Material. Pretty surprising results while still in the unity editor the fps is around 60 even when madly hitting the physics parts so they are not at rest. So if this isn't a "silver bullet" it at least is shining like one.
