Soooo... I've started playing this game again, and... this time, it stuck! I think the thought of "no more major updates" lifted my spirits in regard to it. I think it's safe to say that it's the first time in a little over three years that I like KSP
I still have a couple beefs, sure. I still think Contract Configurator and Strategia are absolutely essential mods for the enjoyment of this game as it was intended, as are EVE, Scatterer and Chatterer. I still think the mission thingie from the DLC is absolute rubbish and a waste of my money. A couple of mods I really liked broke down a few versions a go and never came back, a shame, but the current state of the game doesn't make me need them as badly. And I absolutely ditched KER, KAS, KIS and a few others and, know what? It's perfectly fine, now! And I (probably) never have to think about any of them every breaking again! Wohoo!
You might even see a bit more of me on the forums again.

So, life updates, again?
I think the main thing is, despite my government's efforts on decimating its own population, I'm still alive. That's already a lot to expect in The Year of Our Lord MMXXI, and I'm so happy to see a lot of familiar faces still active here.
I've switched jobs a few times since we last spoke, and as of early this year I've landed on a carreer I've been desiring for quite a while, and am now in a senior position working with data science and machine learning. Still happily married, still happily childless (tho slowly changing my mind), at the moment living at my mother's, but with my own house being built (was already slowly due to budget, and then the whole world fell apart...)
And... I guess that's it. The itch to play the game never came back, tho I haven't lost hope. To the two or three of you that I've on my Steam contacts list of Gtalk (seriously, is that still a thing???), I may not chat with you, but my heart still warms to see you online from time to time. To everyone else, if you ever wanna check if I'm alive, twitter is for the time being my platform of choice, where you can catch up on my very, very low sense of humour and leftist excrementsposts. Or just add me on steam.
I... guess my handle there is "Monstah"...?Here, it's this one: steamcommunity.com/id/monstrimStay alive, everyone. Keep safe. Love!

Whoa, look at that, a green tag!

Been considering re-installing this and seeing where it's at.... but OH GOD the list of games I've bought over the years (since I first played KSP, to be exact) and never played is STILL SO DAMN HUEG.

Down, down, dog!
Hey, bud! Real life is going through some dark times, so I'm just taking a look around here and reminiscing to escape reality a bit. Cheers!

Hello, everyone. So. Life updates!
I haven't played KSP since last time I saw you. Actually, I uninstalled it for the first time in years. I'll probably take at least a year of time out from it, which is fine considering I'd been playing it almost nonstop for some five years.
I have a new job: I now do BI for a (big) insurance broker (which is opening up for other products). I knew nothing of insurance before this, so I'm doing homework all day long. At first I thought I couldn't access the forum even if I wanted to, but recently I discovered the company has both a Corporate and a Pesonal wi-fi networks, and I can use the Personal without a firewall. That means I might be around here more often that I thought at first (I may not feel the same about the game as I once did, but know this: I miss the forum. You guys are in my heart)
Unlike my previous job, however, I've been busy the whole friggin' day, and I get home tired as hell. I used to moderate from work, now I can barely catch my Feed. Also, I'm now co-worker with a childhood friend, and that's pretty damn awesome.
My wife's employed again, after a year without a job. She's teaching classes at a university! So, between that and my slightly improved paycheck, our household income has increased by some 110%, which is great for our plans of building our new house.
I guess that's it for now! Hope you guys are doing fine.
Just read that there's an 1.4.3 coming up, I'm crossing my fingers you get a product you can call "THE game". 1.3.2 was so close to being it, in my opinion! 1.4.0 was a big let down to me, but I wouldn't have left the forum if not for a combination of factors including changes in my personal life. Even if I never play KSP again, it was a big part of my life, and I think you guys deserve a definitive edition, just like the game itself deserves to be in a worthy shape of a larger market.

As of this very moment, precision in available documentation considered, I'm 33 years of age

The lurker is resurfaced!
How's life away from the forum treating ya, bro?

Okay, after months of waiting for an activation email, i finally can discuss on the Flat Earth forums, and to be honest.
90% of the people believe the Earth is round
9,9% believe the Earth is flat.
0,1% believe the Earth is Flat and know what they are talking about.
There is this one guy, who i think is some kind of priest or member in the church can actually explain the Flat Earth Model without sounding dumb.

I've been thinking for a while about one thing the game is missing - a way to hover over a ship in the tracking center and have a box hover above it listing the Kermen (or Kerbals, as some call them) on board the vessel.
I have spent about an hour trying to find one of my Kermen - and still have not found what vessel he's on. I know he is out there, somewhere...

What are your favorite films guys?
Mine is "Drive".

Of all time? That's a pretty tough call. Alien? Jurassic Park, the first (and only one)? Bram Stoker's Dracula? The Addams Family? Probably Jurassic Park. I'm old(er)-timer, time will still tell whether The Martian or Gravity make it to the list (both have good chances).
Lately, I've re-watched John Carpenter's The Thing a couple times, and man, that movie is so surprisingly good. Not my favorite movie, but I'd definitely re-watch it at least once a year.

Oh, hi! Long time no see, busy these days.
(I'm substituting my manager today. Grumble, grumble.)
Completely unrelated, but it still hasn't sunk in that mankind can presently detect gravity waves.

I'm back
Schoolwork and the X Country season kept me preoccupied.
I'm planning on finishing This Day In Space History and I'm planning on writing a new (sort of KSP inspired) novel. (I lost the totally revised version of Fly Higher so that won't be finished any time soon, maybe ever.)
'Suh dude.

Update and observation 3:
Now grading for World Civilization to 1500"Facts" I never knew about world civilization...
- The Roman Republic fell when Caesar forgot his lexicon.
- The crusades began when the Shriners put up collection points along the Silk Road.
- Early attempts for global trade didn't go well. They didn't have airplanes or good roads. They had to rely on the underground railroad.
- Columbus founded the colony of Columbia, in what is now South Carolina.
- The Crusades started as Russia began to expand into Mongolia.
- The Holy Roman Empire was made up of Romans who fought to liberate Europe from Germans who were Muslim invaders.
Other student observations:
- Student comment on an exam: "I should have taken this class more seriously. The Holy Roman Empire kicked my butt..." (word changed to be forum friendly)
- Student comment on an exam: "I don't think this exam is a fair assessment of who I am. I did really good in history in high school. You make us remember too many facts..."
- Student comment on an exam: "You claim the classical Chinese and Greeks knew the world was a sphere. This is a lie, the earth is flat. NASA lies."
I am taking a break from grading since I now have two classes done. The next class, another World Civilization, will take about three hours. It is an on-line class and has 40 student exams to grade.

Gonna have to get braces and a tooth pulled. On my top row of teeth, there's a tooth coming in really crooked. To make room for it to come in right, the tooth below it which hasn't fallen out yet needs to be pulled and braces need to be put in to make enough room for it to correct itself. Also, my bottom row of teeth are too far out, they're perfectly lined up with my top row which is a problem. My bottom teeth also are too spaced apart, which is of course a problem. Fun for 2 whole years! It's not as bad as it sounds to me, but I'm really squeamish so this all sounds like a nightmare.

Ouch, man. When I was a kid, I dreaded losing my teeth. You know, the natural, painless, just-yank-it-out-when-it's-soft, way? That absolutely terrified me. Then when I was 15 I broke two of my front teeth, and the replacements look good and all, but aren't as tough as my natural teeth, and keep breaking again from time to time. In the most socially awkward situations, naturally. They're friggin' frontal teeth, after all.
I still have bad dreams of losing my teeth
