Found this link cleaning out some of my old files, thought I would share it here.

Australia gets first place in the "Not Junk/Junk" category at a ratio of 13/1.

China comes in last at 1/18!

That is so cool!

It was easy to see the two main bands of geosynch sats. I was expecting to see more obvious rings around LEO but I didn't.

Well according to the map each satellite is a kilometer or so in size.

Looks like a protoplanetary disk. A gaseous sphere of proto-star particles on LEO and a ring of planetesimales on a geostationary orbit. 100 years more - and the geostationary satellites will stick together and form a Death Star.
Or like a galaxy with a spherical bulge and scattered disk. 100 years more - and there be spiral arms.

Some of the orbits are real strange, looks like they use an rotating earth reference frame as geo satellites are stationary.

To be pedantic, I couldn't find the moon anywhere. "3D map of almost all the known satellites". On a more serious note, cool find! I spent way too much time looking through it and not working

Oh, were they actually moving? I thought it was just a static snapshot. Guess I didn't watch long enough.

That's because LEO uses a lot of inclinations, which are different for each satellite

You have to click the sats.
