Chapter 1: A Beginning of an Era

It all started with a crazy kerbal...

As Jebediah Kerman was strolling by the lab his mind flashed back a few days ago, when sccientists had stuffed some sort of explosive material into a barrel. The scientists said it would be used for burning things very quickly, but Jeb had other ideas. He thought that if he pointed the nozzle straight at the ground, it might propel an object into the sky. And so, he set up a testing facility, and slapped on a cockpit, parachute and some fins to a barrel. He named it the Flea. And so the Flea was ready to fly!

As a small group of spectators gathered, Jeb climbed into the cockpit and primed the engine. A few moments later...

There was a loud roaring as the barrel ignited and literally flung the contraption into the air as it belched out flames and smoke.

The launch was a total success, and Jeb splashed down a few minutes later. Jeb caught the attention of the public, and before long he had a government backed Space Agency, with the hopes of conquering space.

Chapter 2: The Rising of the Eagle

Jeb's space program had gone off to a great start, and the engineers had rolled out the Eagle, their first liquid-fueled rocket. The rocket also included a comms system and some random goo they made in the lab. The goo was sent up to explore the reaction to the Goo in space. The Eagle was ready!

The clock ticked down to zero as Mission Control held it's breath...

The liquid-fueled engine worked better then expected. Soon Jeb was over the ocean, and splashed down a few minutes later.

Jeb then decided to build another Eagle launch vehicle for another launch. The pilot chosen was Lt. Km Valentina Kerman. Mission Control decided a course inland.

The launch again went without a hitch. Valentina returned to Kerbin a few minutes later.

The space agency recieved more funds and parts, including a radial decoupler. Jeb's space program was so far a total success.

Chapter 3: The Titan Awakes

The engineers had rolled the their next launch vehicle, the Titan and was rolled onto the pad early in the morning. With the Titan poised at the sky, Mission Control carried out the order to start the countdown.

This time the payload was a small satellite that had two Goo containers and a parachute strapped onto it. Mission Control then gave the order to launch.

Liftoff for Titan 1!

The launch was another textbook performance, and a few minutes later, the probe splashed down into the ocean without a scratch.

Mission Control had some reasons to celebrate, as the probe revealed many things about the upper atmosphere. Also on this flight, the Titan 1 was the fastest vehicle launched so far, reaching a speed of 800 m/s.

Here, have some moar:

Chapter 4: Juno's Destiny

After the success of the Titan launch, the space agency decided to modify the Titan booster and add an upper stage to the vehicle. This new rocket was named the Juno, and the engineers concluded that the vehicle could fly to the edge of space and back. As the payload, which was the same as the Titan launch, except with a magnetometer boom reentered the atmosphere, the second stage would use it's remaining fuel to slow the spacecraft down. The Juno was rolled onto the pad late afternoon. and so the countdown started.

The first stage worked, but then Mission Control held it's breath for the ignition...

We have confirmed ignition of the second stage!

The rocket became the fastest kerbal-made object yet, at about 1100 m/s.

The probe became the very first object to reach space, and the magnetometer boom uncovered a lot about Kerbin's magnetosphere.OjEBQWZ.png

The reentry burn was successful, and the probe returned to Kerbin. Mission Control celebrated with extra snacks.

Chapter 5: The Twin Explorers

The engineers worked late into the night to develop a new launch vehicle. They calculated that this rocket was capable of orbiting Kerbin And so they rolled out their new launch vehicle, the Explorer onto the pad, and so the were ready for their first night launch!

The probe returned to Kerbin with mind-blowing amounts of discoveries, and Mission Control decided to launch a second probe.

The payload had a telescope, color filters and a Science Package, and the Telescope provided new insights to Kerbin and the probe landed in the desert after a day in orbit.
