Debug tool : Alt+ f12 not working

Hi, please forgive me If this is not the right topic for this. so I was wanting to use the debug tool, and I know the command for this is alt+f12, but I have a laptop and whenever I do that, it just turns the brightness up, because f12 is a keyboard shortcut.  How can I get around this and use the debug tool?

On macOS there is a way to map F keys to regular function keys, this solves the problem for macOS players who can't access the Debug Menu. If you're using a non-Apple laptop there must be something similar, but you'll have to look for yourself, as there are countless possible ways this setting could be accessible.

My laptop has a Function key (Fn).  Fn-F12/F11 adjusts the brightness.   Gonna be the guy that says this, but make sure you are hitting Alt, and not Fn (or another key).

On my Win10 laptop, I have to press SHIFT-ALT-F12 to get to the Cheat menu. ALT-F12 alone does not work.

Thanks for the suggestions, I am pressing the Alt key, and not the function... Also, using shift along with Alt-F12, doesn't work.

OK, this is going to sound stupid.  Is there any way to to check if the Fn key is stuck down? Do any of the other Fn functions work without the Fn key being held down? Are the rest of your F1-F12 keys behaving?

For some reason, I need to press Alt Gr plus F12 now.

I had the same problem, Nvdia GeForce Experience uses alt+f12 for the ingame overlay. If you change it to something else it will work fine.

I figured it out!  My laptop had the default alt and f keys set to control the shortcuts.  If I hold down the fn key, and the do alt f12 it works.

Might want to reset those.   That Finger Twister sounds like it could get a bit confusing....
