Adding far away solar system - bare minimum mods to make it reasonable?

I'm adding a new solar system that's quite a ways away from Kerbin.  I'm wondering what mod I should add to make this goal attainable in my lifetime without distorting the balance of the rest of the game (ie. an expensive but fast engine and that's mostly it).

Thanks for the advice!
