Visual Studio Code vs Visual Studio

Hi all,

I've been using Visual Studio for my development for a while now, and am very happy with it.  However, I'm wondering if anybody is using Visual Studio Code for their development, and how it compares to Visual Studio for KSP Mod Development.

Anybody have any experience with both?

I have been using VSC for the past two years and can definitely say it's great for general programming. If you can think of something, it probably has a plugin/theme for VSC. C# works well, although you'll need a separate compiler if you want to make dlls.

There's really no comparison; Visual Studio is a fully featured IDE. Code is Notepad ++ with C# support and a much worse UI.

There's people who love Code, but I've always found it an absolute pain to use compared to Visual Studio.

Yeah -- It just basically has the name in common. There are some code-y features, but for the most part it can't replace VS.
