Rover lists to the left when driving

Recommended Posts

I designed a small rover that tilts when I drive it forwards for some reason.

Some of the things I've tried to combat this:

- Individually placing the wheels and using the snapping tool to ensure they're mirrored correctly

- Making sure the wheels are turning the correct direction

- Made sure the rovemate probe core is oriented in the right direction

- Change wheel controls to IJKL (not that that would matter, I don't think I have reaction wheels on the rover anyway)

- Moving around the center of mass. I had though the center of mass would cause the rover to tilt the opposite direction, but it tilts the same direction, no matter which side the center of mass is on)

I have no mods installed that would affect physics, but for completeness' sake, here is a list of all the plugins I use:

ClickThrough Blocker (ClickThroughBlocker 1:0.1.10.17)
Docking Port Alignment Indicator (DockingPortAlignmentIndicator 6.10.0.0)
Environmental Visual Enhancements - Stock Planet Config files (EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements-HR 2:EVE-1.2.2-1)
Environmental Visual Enhancements Redux (EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements 3:1.11.6.1)
Flight Manager for Reusable Stages (FMRS) Continued (FMRSContinued 1.2.9.2)
Kerbal Engineer Redux (KerbalEngineerRedux 1.1.9.0)
KSP AVC (KSP-AVC 1.4.1.9)
MechJeb 2 (MechJeb2 2.14.1.0)
Module Manager (ModuleManager 4.2.2)
PlanetShine (PlanetShine 0.2.6.6)
PlanetShine - Default configuration (PlanetShine-Config-Default 0.2.6.6)
RasterPropMonitor (RasterPropMonitor 1:v0.31.7)
RasterPropMonitor Core (RasterPropMonitor-Core 1:v0.31.7)
RecoveryController (RecoveryController 0.0.4.1)
Scatterer (Scatterer 3:v0.0835)
SpaceTux Library (SpaceTuxLibrary 0.0.8.4)
StageRecovery (StageRecovery 1.9.5.4)
TAC Fuel Balancer (TacFuelBalancer v2.21.5.2)
Toolbar Controller (ToolbarController 1:0.1.9.8)
Zero MiniAVC (ZeroMiniAVC 1:1.1.2.4)

Here's a video of the problem: https://imgur.com/a/e1vh7e0 (I'm only holding I in the video until the last 8-7 seconds)

Here's the craft file: https://mega.nz/file/4H9mWbKI#MiAJ7JbwDSx3nL5Ol2neyYSc0dKhwOhvhy6pscaRnZ0

Any help would be appreciated!

it could be the asymmetry. I see there is something leaning on the left side, looks like a magnetometer. this would cause extra drag on that side, which would steer the rover. this hypothesis is further corroborated by the rover listing only after picking up speed, i.e. when drag becomes significant.

try it on mun or another airless body and see if you still have the same problem.

if it's not that, then i'm baffled

P.S. great job in making your first post and including a video and even a copy of the rover! lots of new people make their first post like "my rocket doesn't work, please help", to which the usual reply is "how can we tell what's wrong if we don't know how it's actually made?". your request was very complete.
