Copenhagen Suborbitals joins KSP

Recommended Posts

A little update yet again. A couple of days ago, we had a telemetry test, with the Sapphire payload. Everything worked as it should.

While we where at sea with both our launch platform Sputnik, and our new acquired mission control ship Vostok, we made a little movie with Vostok.

We are also spending alot of time to get our submarine into the water again.

Any job vacancies?

I know a guy... His name's Jeb.

Well, can Jeb weld?

We often get applications from engineers, often with speciality in fluid airflow at machspeed, or some other high end speciality I can hardly spell.

But what we do need is people who can weld, drill and use a lathe. We are after all a KISS kinda outfit.

This sunday we had a plugs out test(dry run) outside Copenhagen Habour, with Sputnik and Vostok. Everything went well according to our checklist.

You can see pictures of it here.

Dear Copenhagen sub-orbitals just a quick question is it hard to build an actual rocket?

Yes it is. But remember there is much more to our journey, than just building the rocket. We have to find the correct type of engine be it Hybrid or liquid. That takes alot of testing. Also this launch we are having the 22nd of june, is about testing our new guidance system with jet vanes. It takes alot of electronics and software to make everything work. Not to mention all the work we have done on refitting our new ship Vostok.

Its a bit harder then left-clicking in Kerbal ;)

New video by Claus Mejling, where Kristian Von Bengtson talks about the spaceship.

I found another video also abit about spaceship made by Envision.

Also Cameron Smith made a little movie too, about his DIY spacesuit, that he is working on with Copenhagen Suborbitals.

Hello Copenhagen Suborbitals, I also have a question. Have you put any thought into astronaut selection for your manned launch? Are you doing your own recruiting, or using an organization such as Astronauts 4 Hire?

Love the wobbling jet vanes around 12:35 in that video. Maybe you should delay the launch until 0.21 comes out with the improved ASAS?

Seriously though, good luck. May your rockets fly true and your downlink never fade.

It seems like you guys have put tremendous amounds of work into figuring out what fuel to use. If your aim is "just" to break 100km without any orbit or anything, how comes that you don't use solid fuel? Lower ISP? Safety? Given you style otherwise, such a low tech practical approach seems right up your alley.
