Can confirm the massive framerate drop since updating the mod through CKAN. I can't launch the same rockets anymore.

Thanks for the mod and your work, I love it.

Cheers chaps. Hunting it down now. Which version is CKAN giving?

Hang on a minute, on further investigation... it's not KK, it's Kerbin-Side Complete.

I can run KK on it's own with no framerate loss.  It's the pack itself.

CKAN reports v1:1.0.9 for KSC and v0.9.6.1 for KK.

Sorry for dicking you around.  I actually took the time to validate what I was saying before giving you a false alarm.

Now I'm confused.

Is there an in game way to get a base "preview" image?  That is to set it or make it?  Or do you have to edit the instance in it's cfg file and add

LaunchSiteLogo = somename

and then create a 150x140 image in that directory called somename.ext?

You and me both.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Kerbinside Complete three times (twice leaving KK intact) and it's clearly having some effect.

Give me a few minutes... I'll roll back to v1.0.8 Kerbinside Complete with a manual install.

I've been using the same version of KSC (1:1.0.9) for 3 days with KK 0.9.6.0 for 2 days, working both great.

It was right now when updating only KK to 0.9.6.1 that the framerate drop occurs, and reverting it back to 0.9.6.0 (not touching KSC) fixes it. Hope this clarifies it a bit.

OK, leaving the CKAN-installed v0.9.6.1 of KK in the GameData folder, I manually installed spacedock-hosted v1.0.8 of KSC and experienced the same framerate issue.

Deleted spacedock-hosted v1.0.8 of KSC and manually installed spacedock-hosted v1.0.9 of KSC - same problem

Deleted  CKAN-installed v0.9.6.1 of KK and manually reinstalled spacedock-hosted v0.9.6.1 of KK - same problem

Deleted spacedock-hosted v0.9.6.1 of KK and manually reinstalled spacedock-hosted v0.9.6.0 of KK - fixed

Seems you can have v0.9.6.1 of KK running with no KSC and not experience a problem.  The moment you install KSC alongside v0.9.6.1 of KK, framerate drops happen.  Reverting to v0.9.6.0 resolves.

@TMS and @sent3x Do either of you have Kerbin-Side Jobs update today installed?

I have updated both today, but the issue persists with and after fully removing Kerbin-Side Jobs contract pack.

Good. That's two test-cases done. Grab 0.9.6.2 (see link above) and try that. I teared out some RT interface stuff but for the life of me that shouldn't cause this issue.

Ok good. I'm just rolling 0.9.6.2 and will put it on Alpha Strike Games. Please grab it and retest in a few mins.

Looks like we have a winner-winner, chicken dinner.

Smooth as the proverbial smooth thing.

I also just tried to update KK + KS Complete trough CKAN without "Jobs" and was expieriencing fps issues mostly when i was looking towards KSC while flying. I also can test more and even do fresh install testing if needed. I'll grab 0.9.6.2 and lets see how it goes. Thanks AlphaAsh! :)

Ok thank you. So yeah, unhandled Guids bloat out memory, is my only guess.

So I tried this, but it doesn't appear in game.  I still get the default "no preview available" image.

You'll need to take a screenshot then edit it in a paint package. DIY.

Then you need that parameter, yup.

0.9.6.2 it's working as a charm! From 6 fps to 24 at launch.

Great job and thanks!

And 3rd confirm here! Latest KK 0.9.6.2 + KS Complete 1.0.9 installed manually and fps is back!

Outstanding work once again ash!

I did.  Made a 150x140 png, stuck the parameter in the cfg file.  No joy.

The cfg and png are in the same folder  GameData/FP_WhallopTestRange/Statics

In the model or an Instance in the model? It needs to go in an Instance.

I stuck a lauchpad at KSC2 (kkrocketpad2) and made it a launch site.

I exported it, then cut/paste it to a new folder.

Result is

GameData/FP_WhallopTestRange/Statics
    |-- kkrocketpad2.cfg
    \-- WhallopTestRange.png

and the cfg file is:
