Oh, space station! If you are asking about building on Mun the same way as on Kerbin, you can not do that without an add-on. You can build parts and fly them to the Mun. Then put them together, but it would be hard to take off from the Mun again. Maybe you are doing this because docking is hard? Try watching some videos. This one is good, and is short time. I'm not sure if there are some helpful videos in French. You can try asking in the French forum. It is much easier to build in space, once you can dock.

Asteroid heading towards Kerbin!!!!
Claw replied to Deadpangod3's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You guys know the op asked for help with an asteroid two months ago right? I would guess it's sorted out by now. -
Why is my stuff falling apart?
Claw replied to Graeth's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
And make sure you aren't using the joint reinforcement mod (unless it's been updated for 0.23.5?). The old 0.23.0 version is incompatible with the ARM update. -
Yes. In order to do science with a probe/satellite it must have one of the science thingies installed (that's the technical term). Any of the attachable science experiments (graviloi, goo, etc) can be done with a probe as long as they are on your craft and the probe has power. Then you have two choices for the science. Transmit it back to Kerbin (if you have an antenna and power) or recover the science module to Kerbin. If you transmit, there is a percentage cap to how much of the science points you can gain (the percent varies by the experiment type). If you recover the experiment, you get nearly the full amount of science points available for it. Transmitting does not prevent you from recovering more points in the future, but does require you to repeat the experiment. Most experiments allow you to reuse the science module again after transmitting. SciJr and Goo become unusuable once you transmit, unless you clean them with a science lab. There are some other rules too, but that is the basics.

Do you think this rocket can get to duna?

Future rescue mission? Or maybe advance colonists. -
Tips and tricks you found out yourself
Claw replied to hugix's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You can fine tune docking alignment by decoupling (stay very close), rotating to the new position, quicksave, and quickload. The quickload will reset the docking port state and the ports will recouple immediately on reload. You need to keep the ports close together. Maybe keep a quicksave copy before uncoupling in case things go badly. -
Hmm. I was slow to answer this because I wasn't sure about the question. The title does not match the questions in first post. However, you just asked about assembly on the ground. Maybe this is what you are looking for. It is a good thread. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/48876-The-art-of-modular-base-building This is for building a station. I am not sure if that is what you want. Or if you are looking for a smaller ship to land and liftoff. Hopefully Link answered your other questions.

Disappearing Kerbils/Vehicles... Why?
Claw replied to SlowThought's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
None of the kerbals permanently die (yet) unless you edit the save file. As mentioned, did you revert or load a save from before the launch? Or maybe terminated the flight? If the kraken ate your ship, the guys don't normally respawn because their status ends up broken. So I doubt that's it. However, the other game bug that comes to mind that could have messed you up is if you had a NullReferenceException. There are some bugs that cause NREs, which effects the game's autosave ability. If that happened and even if you managed to quicksave, if the persistent file didn't update then your game might appear the same as before you ever launched. I'm not sure if you happened to keep track of the kerbal date when you landed to see how that compares to the current date... -
Way to skip Kerbin exploration?
Claw replied to fommil's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
...and to remember that it's just a game. When building/testing bimes, it's probably easier to start with that planet that the rockets come from, then build out from there. Besides, biomes on Kerbin give you something to do with those fancy airplane parts. Even if it's too late in the science tree to make the low science points helpful. -
A couple of gameplay questions
Claw replied to Kitspace's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
That has come up, but I believe Kitspace is asking how to make MechJeb do all this, including roll to a specific axis. While I know you can use MJ to assist in doing these things, I don't know how to set it up so that MJ does it all by itself. I don't recall a "pitchover at airspeed" option in the ascent guidance. -
A couple of gameplay questions
Claw replied to Kitspace's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Ahh, okay well if you want to change the game a bit with mods, that is cool. Unfortunately I don't have experience with those. Perhaps if you are now down to a few specific questions about MechJeb, you might get more specific help on the MJ thread. I personally don't use MJ's autopilot all that much, and I'm without my computer for a bit. So I'm afraid I can't offer that level of help. Good luck, -Claw -
Hi snsmac, welcome to the forums! Don't worry to much about the english. There are a lot of users who have English as a second language. Everyone is welcome. A couple of gameplay questions
Claw replied to Kitspace's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
It's not that I disagree, it's that KSP doesn't limit the gimbal angles on engines. And if you are using 4x symmetry, it won't matter for the control surfaces. MJ (or a human pilot) will have just as much authority either way. Are we discussing reality here or how MJ controls a KSP rocket? -
Epic! My goodness how I love this game. Nice job.

Station Ripping Itself Apart
Claw replied to Stickyhammy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yeah, that docking port will definitely contribute to the wobble. Glad you got it sorted out. -
A couple of gameplay questions
Claw replied to Kitspace's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you want to launch into a particular inclination, MJ does that. There's no need to roll the craft to get a pure pitch or pure yaw input unless your rocket is only 2x symmetric around the z axis. If you are just trying to launch at something that isn't directly east or north, put in the desired angle into the "inclination" window in the ascent guidance module. Bt the way, inclination is measured from the equator. 0 is due East. The shuttle performed a roll so it could pitch over onto it's back. I don't know if there is a way to do that with MJ's ascent guidance, but the SmartASS module may be able to help with this. -
Station Ripping Itself Apart
Claw replied to Stickyhammy's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Try shifting some of the fuel out of one of the orange tanks. I've seen several instances of quad orange tanks around a common node coming apart. Changing the mass distribution sometimes seems to fix it (or at least keeps it from wobbling itself apart). As many times as I've seen this, I still can't figure out what is happening. I can see that you have Srs mounted to smaller structural components. Sometimes that makes the connection weaker, but I can't say that's causing a problem. Just make sure nothing is clipped anywhere near the ports or other connection points. -
Yeah, Scott Manley makes a lot of great videos. If you ever have any questions, the link below is a good forum to find answers. You can dig around in there and see if your question has been asked, or post and we are more than happy to answer. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forums/15-Gameplay-Questions-and-Tutorials There is also a Tutorial sub-forum in there with text, picture, and video tutorials for all kinds of things (in case you don't have fast enough internet for streaming long movies).

Ahh. Well I suppose that depends on what windows version is being used. Mine is a bit in the computer stone ages.

This thread was a bit controversial and has been asleep for five months. Perhaps it's time to let it rest.

Hey, welcome back! And thanks for your service. V0.23.5 is out now. It came out at the beginning of Apr, so I'm not sure if you saw it. There are now extra large (size 3) parts, and capturable asteroids! Good luck and have fun! -Claw
-
I presume you are opening that port up before you dock to anything. Also, make sure your docking ports are the same size and that they are oriented the correct direction. The Sr ports are suceptable to being attached the wrong way because the graphics look similar on both sides. Look for the silver looking ring on the dockable side. And make sure you actually have a docking port on your target vehicle. A few parts look like they have a docking port on them, but you need to attach an actual docking port.

Assign joypad central position to zero throttle
Claw replied to Ucender's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Nice job fixing this and adding to the community. Thanks for that. -
I believe he uses his computer as a phone, not a phone as his computer. Lots of people use skype, VOIP, or other phone-over-internet services. Having music running on another program when using something like skype can interfere with the audio (or at least make it hard to hear). In this case, editing volume levels via the task bar will probably not help as it would lower the phone volume too.

putting vehicles/crafts into orbit by editing?
Claw replied to simcool2's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Always be careful editing your save file, and keep backup copies just in case. KSP may delete vessels, or the save file itself can become corrupt. Good luck, -Claw
