Audio issues after long time running
Claw replied to ekimekim's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hmm. Not to be nit picky, but does this only happen after leaving it open all night? If so, maybe closing it when done, or putting your computer to sleep while away would help the sound system/card reset? I've had luck with putting my computer to sleep. Also, welcome to the forums! Cheers, -Claw -
Reaction Wheels causing an uncontrolled spin?
Claw replied to SyberSmoke's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You are right, there is no warning. But the indicators in the bottom left will deflect if there are any command inputs (from the keyboard, joystick, trim, or SAS when on). Cheers, -Claw -
Bug touristic mission
Claw replied to headinass's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
That does look odd. It looks like there is more further down. Did you scroll down to see what was there? I think the contract system has an order for the planets when it makes the name. So maybe only one tourist wants to go there and the whole thing gets named Duna. If not, then definitely looks like a bug. Thanks for the report, and welcome to the forum! Cheers, -Claw -
In my bug fixes, I've included a tweak that lets you control the number of fairing sides from 1 to 8. (Although you'll have to tweak the ejection force if you go for 1 side.) I'm still working to see if I can keep the length of the panels together, but with the tweak you can at least turn it into a clam style with two sides. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/97285-0-25-Stock-Bug-Fix-Modules Cheers, -Claw

KSP 1.0 takes ages to launch - 3s per file
Claw replied to schelli's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
If you like to play KSP in full screen, you won't be able to minimize it. It doesn't run well in the background like that. Alternatively, you can run in fake full screen (or borderless window) mode. I think it's an option in the launcher, or you can add -popupwindow to the command line parameters. Also double check the things Sal said. They cause similar problems 90% of the time. Cheers, -Claw -
Valentina the world destroyer (Bug)
Claw replied to xxserilviaxx's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Thanks for the detailed report. Were you able to repeat this in your save? It happens from time to time, but is nutoriously difficult to replicate. Cheers, -Claw -
Occlusion bug/exploit found!
Claw replied to panzer1b's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hmm, this might be a good one. Node Attached things are only supposed to subtract off their own area from the object behind, not the entire forward surface. Thanks for the report. Cheers, -Claw -
1.0 MAJOR bug with nuclear engines
Claw replied to kookoo_gr's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Although if the game is freezing up on you, that might be another issue. If you could, upload a log file. You can find some info on where that is by checking here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92230-%21%21%21-PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING-%21%21%21-Stock-Support-Bug-Reporting-Guide Cheers, -Claw -
Kerbonauts, I would love to help figure out what is going on here, but a whole page of "me too" doesn't help clarify the issue. If it's happening this much, somone please upload a log file. The game always creates one. You can find the log file for your OS, and how to post pictures, here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92230-%21%21%21-PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING-%21%21%21-Stock-Support-Bug-Reporting-Guide Cheers, -Claw

Tundra Biome near KSC
Claw replied to zilfondel's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Indeed, TheMoonRover is correct. It's a small mistake in the biome map. Cheers, -Claw -
[KSP v1.1.3] Stock Bug Fix Modules (Release v1.1.3b.1 - 10 Jul 16)
Claw replied to Claw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thanks for the log! I think I know what might be causing this. I will try to take a look tonight. - - - Updated - - - Okay, thanks for the confirmation! Cheers, -Claw -
I've moved this to the support forum. You can find information on how to get the log (and other things) from here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92230-%21%21%21-PLEASE-READ-BEFORE-POSTING-%21%21%21-Stock-Support-Bug-Reporting-Guide Without the logs, we would just be guessing randomly at what might be wrong. Cheers, ~Claw

[KSP v1.1.3] Stock Bug Fix Modules (Release v1.1.3b.1 - 10 Jul 16)
Claw replied to Claw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Well, I would certainly be interested in some pictures and/or replication steps for stock. Cheers, ~Claw -
Auto-rotating ship
Claw replied to Lone K.'s topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
The trim might be active. You can verify by looking in the lower left corner of the screen at the input axes. They will be off center. You can zero out the trim by pressing ALT+X. Cheers, ~Claw -
The game always creates a log file, even if it doesn't crash. In the windows version, it's located in KSP_Install/KSP_Data/output_log.txt If you want to toughen up the joint strength on those Mk3 parts, you can try my stock bug fixes for now: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/97285 Cheers, ~Claw

Requirements for interstage fairing
Claw replied to Lorunification's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I find that sometimes I need to pull the mouse slightly away from the piece I'm connecting to, horizontally. So the mouse isn't quite touching the part. It seems to depend a bit on what the part is that you're connecting to. Cheers, ~Claw -
Where is the science at?
Claw replied to krillin678's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This would be great, but take a look at how far in the first rover wheels are. -
Fairing engine enclosure help
Claw replied to Dieguscus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yeah. Unfortunately you would need a mod to be able to do what you are asking. Cheers, -Claw -
[KSP v1.1.3] Stock Bug Fix Modules (Release v1.1.3b.1 - 10 Jul 16)
Claw replied to Claw's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have seen this posted a few times. This is something triggered by a mod, but I'm not sure how to replicate it. I've never seen it in stock, so hard for me to say what it might be. Yep, something similar is in my fixes. Haha Thanks!! No worries. And you are very welcome! No need for worship, but I appreciate the thanks! My pleasure everyone. (it needed one more smiley) Cheers, -Claw -
This is almost certainly the first problem. Those fins create not only drag, but destabilizing lift forces. You need to either put them in a fairing or add fins to the bottom of the rocket. I would recommend at least as many fins on bottom as you have on top, and probably a few extra to be safe. Since you are using fins, you can also turn on the CoM and CoL indicators to help you out. Cheers, -Claw

What are the new heat shields for?
Claw replied to leocrumb's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You can find one such mod in my sig. (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/97285-0-25-Stock-Bug-Fix-Modules) Cheers, -Claw -
I can appreciate your plight. I would love give a quick and emphatic "Yes!" But EDU is built and maintained by a separate group of people. It isn't a squad product, so the actual next round of EDU may or may not suit your request. I would say that planes are probably a bit easier, but rockets are harder. It's not quite a "launch and forget" maneuver anymore. Although one of the first big steps is to learn to actually throttle the engines down. The new aero lets you go a lot faster, but when you go faster at low altitude, things can be harder to control. I don't know if any of that will help you, but I can sympathize. Cheers, -Claw
