  1. All the 3.75 parts I just call the big parts because I can't remember their names. I call the engines and boosters the SLS parts and the KR-2L "that other engine" because I can never remember the exact sequence of letters (even though I can just right click on the part. )
  2. In the last episode you said you might refuel the craft at the Mun. I don't know how far you are into the next episode, but it might be more expensive to send a refueler than another craft of the same specifications.
  3. This is a small series I am doing in order to test some things for my new YouTube channel, however I still wanted to make the series interesting. It involves a manned mission to Ike where all the components will be in some way or form theoretically re-usable. Here is the first video: Second video: - - - Updated - - - The sound balancing is off as this was a test. At least you can still hear my voice.
  4. In my modded game that I am putting together I have deleted any and all fuel tanks unless I really like that look of the tank. I use Procedural Parts to save RAM. I believe I have saved almost 200 MB just deleting the fuel tanks and the B9 massive parts. I have also deleted wings for the same reason and only use Procedural Wings.
  5. I think (but I am not 100% sure) that you can change the load distance in the settings config for KSP. I remember Scott Manley talking about it during his re-usable space program series. Edit: Nope, not in there.
  6. Well the Mun is on a completely equatorial orbit so these happen more frequently than you might think.
  7. I am interested in there being a new gas planet and/or other planets being added to the game only after some of the other features of the game are fixed. I don't mean everything has to be perfect but there are some things that need to be addressed by SQUAD. Some things can be done pretty easily and adding another planet would just be a distraction to these fixes. However once those are done I would love a new planetary sub-system to explore.
  8. Also very helpful, luckily I have quite a bit of experience with editing already so that should help greatly. But I do have one question that I am not sure if you or any one else will be able to answer due to the nature of it being very much hit and miss. How do you get noticed in the first place? Sure, I could make interesting videos but if no one even knows they exist it would be useless. I don't really care how many subscribers I get as long as they are entertained and enjoy the channel,but how do I get people to find the channel. It seems that there is o easy way because all of the larger channels act like a sponge for new subscribers and views. I don't really have time for closed captioning ( I am a student so my free time can fluctuate between the entire night to 30 minutes.) Thanks.
  9. I figured all that stuff out the hard way a while ago. Although I still occasionally breathe directly into the mic which is something I will definitely have to work on. I already use Bandicam which also allows me to split the tracks, however I do and will do a lot of post commentary. And I never even knew what the Ambient lighting mod was so thanks for that tip.
  10. So I have a YouTube channel, and due to, my first videos *sigh, my incompetence early on destroyed any possibility of any growth. Due to the algorithm of, you need to get views to get more views and if you don't you are less likely to get views later which starts a downhill slope, I have gotten no where. Now I am pretty decent at making videos and I want to start over. Does anyone have any tips?
  11. I saw my friend's older brother flying a plane on his and crashing it into the ground and breaking into several dozens of pieces and him screaming NO JEBEDIAH!!! I asked him what it was and I looked it up on YouTube and like many people found Kurtjmac. Then I looked up mods on YouTube because I wondered what the community was like and found EnterElysium's WWK. This is what put the nail in the coffin for me buying the game and I have been playing it for over a year.
  12. I haven't had this with stock. However a couple times I have downloaded a mod and I watched videos on YouTube and noticed one or two parts were missing. Or the time I downloaded KW and the fairings didn't download. Strange stuff indeed.
  13. So I have an idea for a new YouTube series. I just need to set things up for it and finish my current series. Anyways, the series will be mostly stock with one or two mods plus Kethane, FAR, Procedural Parts (maybe), Procedural Wings (probably), Deadly Re-entry, TAC Life Support, and Kerbal Attchment System. I will also be creating new parts out of stock parts by modifying their configs (inspired by Bob Fitch, just not to his amazingly tedious level ).Yeah doesn't really sound stock, but I will be using mods that don't add an incredible amount of new parts, specifically propulsion systems. I may also add a few parts from different mods here and there. I will update this thread with new information about this series. Please fell free to leave any ideas and/or feedback.
  14. Well I screwed around with things for a little while and got things to work. It either had something to do with MechJeb or one of the mods on the third screen because when those were unselected it worked. Whatever, it doesn't really matter. I suppose I can install those separately later.

  17. That sounds cool in theory. Until you realize your ship doesn't have enough fuel to do the extremely complicated Duna mission that you put a lot work into.
  18. This is an alpha (soon to be beta, however the amount of features coming in the next update might just change my overall thought that stock career is boring) game. It isn't finished and you're just going to have to deal with it for a while. And just play sandbox. Don't worry about career until it fits your expectations. I pretty much gave up on career until the recent additions of strategies. And I still find it highly annoying, only playable with Fine Print (which is why it is being added to stock). So just do what you think is the best.
  19. Apparently it is under study ( presumably by CALT ) and supposedly will have a payload of 130 tons to LEO.
  20. The SpaceLoftXL takes 90 seconds to reach space which is impressive, but these are insane. What did they even think about doing with these?
  21. I have four. Modded career for my YouTube series, modded sandbox for a different save, RSS install, and one for my somewhat close to realistic looking replicas.
  22. If the moon landings were fake as these people seem to believe for some reason. It would have been more expensive to do it for real. Not only would they need to send a rocket with the crew in it into space for the public to watch, then they would have needed a facility large enough for them to film a rover driving on for a few hours in the later missions. Plus what would have been the point of faking Apollo 13?
  23. Actually I would prefer that alternative highly. I'm not sure how that would work but if it can there would have to be a redesign of that feature completely.
