This is my personal challenge to circumnavigate Kerbin on a rover, no mods, only stock because HARDCORE. It´s a daunting task, I know, but I think it can be done, I´m taking my time and having a blast. The general profile of this series: - No Mods, no hacks, no hyperedit, only stock. - This is a permadeath series, what crashes crashes and stays like that. - If a rover crashes or there are casualties, a new rover is delivered by air from the Kerbal Space Center to the precise location of the last crash. - The journey must be made on a rover with the wheels on the ground, no "hopping" over terrain obstacles to deliver a new rover a few kilometers ahead. - The only exception to the previous rule: If a body of water cuts the path and there´s no way around, then the rover must be taken from the ground, transported over the gap and delivered on the other side. This thing weights 2.985 tons on the launchpad (3002 parts, 36 stages), so far the heaviest thing I have ever launched into orbit. The video is a compilation of its failed launchs, this sunday I will upload the proper sucessful mission to Duna.

What is the point of the External Command Seats?

Use them for landers or rovers... but you can always strap a chair to a rocket I use them to give an extra layer of difficulty on my personal challenges, for example in my circumnavigation challenge I could use a capsule or two to man my rover, but where is the fun on that? -
Just imagine this thing coloring the night!

Mark XVII has that pattern, my problem is that I´m trying to put just the right ammount of struts, of course I could go crazy and do a strut forest but the freaking thing already has 2.950 parts as it is. -

Big Freaking Flying Pyramid to Duna MARK I to MARK XVI exploded on the pad. Seventeen times is the charm, right? -
I like to fly and safely land big buildings, really BIG BUILDINGS.

This thread seems oriented more on the "general shenanigans" and "for the lulz" direction, it may be its own thing. 'what have you done today,' = Bragging rights. 'strange craft,' = I did this strange thing and you may want to try it. 'not going to space today,' = Plain old fails.

I found a hill up there where gravity is inverted, if you stop your rover and don´t activate the brakes it rolls uphill. -

Explosions? Yep, explosions. -
I fly pyramids, so I guess I don´t care about aerodinamics, but boy does it looks pretty

I have a triple video update, busy week! Rover Adventures - Around Kerbin - Episode 10 After a very helpfull poll in the forums I decided to use a transport ship to move our rover over a lake. We discover a new use for one of our ships, and our trip continues pointing south east, aiming for the souternmost part of the continent. Let´s Build - Pyramids - Kerbin´s Pyramid Complex After a truckload of work my giant flying pyramid is at last finished, and ready to be delivered to the pyramid complex on Kerbin´s deserts. The Lost Files - The Curse of the Pyramid Of course not everything went smoothly with that last video, and here´s proof that everything on Kerbal Space Program is made of dynamite.

Been ther Whackjob, I feel your pain. Hope to have you onboard soon.

I am in an escape trajectory out of KSP...

Have you tried missions that requires precise landings? For example: Have you visited the anomalies on the Kerbol system? Zeroing a landing on any of the anomalies is really challenging. Been playing for a year now, no mods installed, still not burnt out. I´m easily amused, I suposse. -
Closer than you think

That is a beautiful design! How it handles flying? The jet engines built in the rover is a good idea and I built a couple prototypes, but then it arises the question: It´s still a rover?
