  1. This is what I ended up with: Of course this was the solution for the original challenge design with a cargo bay and a claw inside, a more compact version like the one Citizenaerospace made certainly will be less complex and do the trick as well.
  2. Where is that RP forum you speak of, I desire to peruse it. About missiles: those in the picture are a couple boosters strapped with reaction wheels and a small probe, they work pretty well launching from surface or underwater. What kind of missiles you use?
  3. Cool one, it will fit inside the cargo bay of my Executor Class Submarine, right in front of the ballistic missiles bay. Care to share the download link? It can be done, but the level of dificulty increases exponentially: WIP, still working on balance and buoyancy, and later on aesthetics. Still working in efficiency issues, this monster eats fuel like there is no tomorrow because air breathing engines won't cut it for the size of this thing. Speed of travel over and under water is a serious issue but I believe is possible to do something about it.
  4. This is the first time I've designed a ship in which sinking is a desirable feature.
  5. I made a gif with my first attempt, it's called "Fantastic Voyage to the bottom of the oh crap!" http://gfycat.com/QuarterlyInfatuatedArchaeopteryx I'll thank you as much as I wish, you are not my mother and I can do whatever I want. And speaking of classic sci-fi submarines, I had the beautiful "Proteus" from "Fantastic Voyage" in my mind every single step of the build, what a machine.
  6. Dear Whackjob: Please don't blow up the Mun, we kind of need it for tides and stuff. Love, Wooks.
  7. I made a 100% stock, fully functional submarine. It can reach the deepest corners of Kerbin's sea bed without cheats of any kind. Each engine on the back of the submarine is set to a specific thrust limit to balance the ship, just fire it up and let it go. It comes with its own transport ship, a beautiful catamaran that can reach speeds over 95 m/s over water. It could go faster, but it will disintegrate if you push it over 100 m/s, that's the resistance limit of the air intakes used as floating devices. To download this ship please follow this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/syt1zanq5y...III.craft?dl=0
  8. Here's my entry Download link for the submarine + catamaran: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/114209-100-Stock-fully-functional-Submarine-with-transport-ship

Of course the claw won't work on Kerbin's surface, but I added it anyway just to comply with the rules. If you want to substitute the claw inside the cargo bay behind the cockpit with another fuel thank, just go ahead. Link to the challenge: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/113743-Deep-Diver-Challenge%21 If you manage to do something cool with it, please share it here.
  10. I knew the claw wouldn't work, but I just added it to my craft to be "rules compliant". Managed to reach 960m., uploading video and data this weekend.
  11. I made a giant slingshot. - - - Updated - - - Full Dukes of Hazzard mode, uh?
  12. Your ships are saved in your KSP folder > Saves > your saved game > Ships folder. Inside that one you'll find the VAB (vehicle assembly building) and SPH (Space Plane Hangar) folders, open the desired one. Inside you'll find one file for each ship you have inside the selected building, identified with the name you used to save them. To share it just grab that file and upload it to Dropbox, Mega, Google Drive or any other free file sharing services, then provide the link here. Cool calculator BTW!
  13. Great update, I know one or two things about island hopping too *bro fist*
  14. Alright, after a lot of testing and tweaking my catamaran / submarine is ready for your challenge, I'll be recording my attempt later today.
  15. Dude! Dude! Open a thread in "Live from Mission Control" with this, marvelous!: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/forums/53-Live-from-Mission-Control%21 One of the most wonderful things about circumnavigations is discovering all the weird and fantastic terrain features that are otherwise invisible for the player, I was surprised by that weird feature you fell into not far away from the KSC, haven't seen that one before, super cool!
  16. One of the definitions of challenge is: A test of one's abilities or resources in a demanding but stimulating undertaking. This, my dear friend, is a challenge. A really hard one. Allow me to take (light) offense on this one, I circumnavigated Kerbin by land an it was one of the most interesting and educational missions I've ever undertaken on KSP, by far my favorite. Many people don't understand that patience and endurance are skills, not everyone is prepared to commit to large scale challenges. And certainly there is way more than holding down W. Unless you ask my youtube subscribers, that was one of the most repeated jokes This challenge has many hidden facets that you might not be aware of: basic planning and organizing skills, navigational skills, creative engineering, emergency management (broken parts, missing crew, power and energy failures, etc), enough to keep you busy for a couple weeks. Don't apologize for speaking your mind, its okay to have doubts when facing challenges that appear to be mindnumbling or unsurmountable. I did it, it IS and accomplishment, and I encourage anyone willing to commit to it to go AND DO IT.
  17. I certainly did took my time, when I started roving north from the KSC I couldn't even think about how much time it would take to complete the whole deal, so I decided to simply go one step at a time, playing casually monday/friday, and then and assembling a video of the progress on weekends. Only after reaching the North Pole I realized "you know what? this might be possible!". Where can I check your EVE trek? Any links?
