Yeah it has good Thrust, but the ISP on it is TRASH, it's like using a mainsail for interplanetary travel, it's incredibly inefficient. And the vectoring really only matters if you are building big, but at that point you would use the poodle, or if you are patient, an LV-N.
It's not designed for inter planetary travel! it is a landing engine! Use It correctly!

Yes, it is awesome. It was supposed to allow the recovery of the entire launch vehicle. Some plans even went so far as to equip the boosters with fold out wings and tails so that they could fly themselves back to a runway for recovery.

Hmm. So the Energia-Buran (Energy-Blizzard) has been done, does anyone know if Bobcat ever planned on doing the Energia-Uragan? (Energy-Hurricane, for those of us, including myself, who can't speak russian.) It looked really cool, but IDK if it would work. I hope it would though. A completely re-useable orbiter, even down to every aspect of the Launch system.

Why do you people think the mark 55 is useless?!? it is probably one of the MOST useful engines. for landing its more useful than the POODLE! You think its useless?

When god created the universe, he created a man and a woman kerbal. they never ate the forbidden fruit unlike humans but they gained intelligence from god. they then were put on a new planet in a new solar system to not be tainted by humans and their sinful ways. they never got the concept of different last names but last names still existed somehow. they all originated from 2 kerbals like humans are thought to be and live normal obscenely long lives (im talking 100s of years naturally) and have a somewhat safe space program and live happilly drinking Mtn. I believe you at the first part but I ike to use them for landing though. I do prefer the LV-N though.
I vote SQUADâ„¢ should up the Isp on the Mark 55 and make it more acceptible to picky people.
