  1. Good plan. Make sure to hold the air spray not too close so the cooling liquid doesn't drip onto stuff.
  2. You need those welfare programs given the jobs situation and ridiculous salaries. The amount of working poor is crazy high in the US, so even a lot of people with jobs still need assistance. I agree that NASA deserves a larger share of the budget, but if it was up to me, I'd rather take this from the insane defense budget than taking it from people who are already at the bottom of the pile. If they fixed structural economic issues in the US, they wouldn't need to spend that much on welfare.
  3. Get an air-spray to clean your laptop inside. My Macbook Pro started overheating like that after 3-4 years and once I cleaned it, it was like new. The battery issue is worse I'm afraid and I don't have a solution.
  4. Also really scary how unprepared we are in real life. Good luck
  5. Thanks. Changed it slightly by adding another docking port above the Kethane reactor. I can now dock in front and carry cargo on top. In the pic below I'm carrying a roid grabber... Definitely the most stable SSTO I've ever made, flies great.
  6. Love the "ok human, you had your fun" look in the dog's eyes
  7. Have to give it to Nasa, they rock! [Removed by the Moderation Team]
  8. In Eve Online we call them "EFT warriors". EFT is a program allowing you to create ship fittings and get output stats (armor, shields, dps, etc.). Often those figures look great in theory but fail horribly once you try it in practice. I agree that price will obviously have an impact on how viable those engines are...unless you're playing sandbox. But sandbox by definition is the place where you test stuff, so that doesn't really bother me.
  9. I don't get the "logic" of people complaining, reason being: How on earth can you claim the new engines/parts are OP, but at the same time post pictures of your HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE 20+ orange tank rockets? I mean, if you're complaining about realism and stuff, you should also ask Squad to remove the ability to create large rockets with conventional parts. If you want that, start a thread and see how well that goes
  10. Jeb's on the way to grab himself a roid in his retro-fitted Roid-SSTO:
  11. I'm a donkey and lost my craft files after spending days setting up an antimatter network (also lost during the update). Started from scratch today. SSTO & Antimatter collector pod before heading out to Jool: SSTO (bit under 14k deltaV in LKO): Alcubierre drive Antimatter reactor Electric generator Thermal turbojet Kethane miner Kethane reactor (to stock up on monopropellant) Landing legs (might switch for heavy ones since TWR can handle it & wheels 2x Kethane detectors Pod: 2x antimatter collector Monopropellant tanks The large docking port will allow me to eventually expand this pod around Jool by adding more collectors.
  12. If you dock with something in a stable orbit...don't you have to match velocities and therefore end up in a stable orbit before docking too?
  13. A lot of Kerbal containers...how many on board?
  14. Nicely done, will try it out. I've done a few rocket SSTOs and with some mods you can pull off pretty cool stuff. Adding landing legs is another option.
  15. Lost all my craft files...so starting from scratch. 14k deltaV Alcubierre drive Antimatter reactor Thermal turbojet Landing legs & wheels Kethane miner Gonna attempt an Eve landing and takeoff this weekend.... Funny enough starting from scratch might have been good, this is my best SSTO yet. Rock stable and quite agile. Ridiculously easy to fly too. Take off at 25m/s, pitch up to 90 degrees, once apoapsis hits 75-80km switch off engine before toggling the Alcubierre drive once in space to establish an orbit. Intake air will take you to space, so no Kethane is used.
  16. Had to start from scratch as I lost my save files. A new prototype's on the way to Eve though with c. 14k deltav and Kethane refueling ability.
  17. Funny how building huuuuuuuuuuge rockets with dozens of orange tanks is considered perfectly ok...but the new ion engines are "unrealistic and OP".
  18. Multiple lifters managed 200t payloads even before the patch, now you can do it with less parts and lag...from a play perspective that's a good thing. The new engines could stomach a bit (!!) of a nerf, but you're waaaaaaaay to critical and totally overblow the "issues" in my opinion. I strongly disagree with the ion engine comment. Finally they're actually playable...and that's a good thing. Burn times were ridiculous before and basically prevented their use completely. There is no mechanic in KSP to do those long burns, so boosting them a bit makes sense.
  19. And yeah, Dayvan Cowboy's great too of course
  20. I for one am disappointed KSP doesn't force me to sit in front of the computer for 2 straight weeks to make a single Mun burn like in real life Reset your game to .23 and fly an ion drive to Duna...we'll talk after that.
  21. If you like scifi books, I can recommend: Iain M. Banks, Peter F. Hamilton, Alistair Reynolds, Randolph Lalonde TV: Farscape & Firefly But if you like scifi you probably already know those
  22. I have no clue what you're talking about...if you like stuff like that, you might like: Europa Report http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbw9hlBnG74‎ or... The Martian
  23. The recent update is causing delays...some stuff stopped working and I lost my entire antimatter power plant.
  24. So there's a thread on Reddit discussing gaming communities (LINK) and I obviously had nominate KSP. Seems like a lot of Reddit people agree Refreshing to find a troll-free gaming community for a change...
  25. Not sure if this works in 23.5, but you should check out RemoteTech.
