  1. Thank you very much!!! Followed everything to the letter and everything's a lot faster now. Works like a charm...wow, what a difference
  2. It's because space is sooooooo big, and the timescales involved are difficult to understand for a lot of people. Also, most people think very veeery short term...which is true for the economy too. But yes, I agree, it's a shame. I watched the landing of Opportunity live and jumped up from my seat when the Nasa guys started cheering. The next day at the office, no one even knew about it.
  3. RIP king of nightmares! As a Swiss, I almost feel ashamed at how little recognition he got in his own home country. LIES! It was all about pink unicorns and fluffy bunnies
  4. Heya, welcome to the forum And yup, nice chaps on this forum...definitely nicer than the average Rust player
  5. Pretty fun game...but I'm spoiled with Eve Online when it comes to complexity. Played Starmade for a while, but Rust now sucked me in. Brilliant sandbox game if you find a good server.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKkJ4y9IKnk‎ :sticktongue:
  7. Yup, Star Talk's pretty entertaining. He had a good discussion going with Joe Rogan not to long ago...and was on his show too:
  8. Well, Tyson just clarified his goal for Cosmos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no-KeX_N91w
  9. The real question is: Did they cheat by using Mechjeb or was it all skill
  10. Ditto...and they're fighting a losing battle against logic. I don't think Tyson wants to attack religion, but at the same time, he wants to promote critical thinking and teach people that putting blind faith over logic never ends well...
  11. Yup. I think Tyson's goal is to teach people how scientists THINK and how they approach issues...and why that approach is the most logical/rational approach. He wants to promote critical thinking and make people question their pre-conceived beliefs. Judging from the outcry of the religious fundamentalists in the US, it seems to be working...because omfg they seem worried
  12. "History" channel It's in HD though...so that's something... By the way, since we're talking about Tyson...here's a great discussion between Tyson and Stephen Colbert:
  13. Most of them are on Youtube and/or Dailymotion First episode Second episode Just search for "Cosmos, Sagan, stream, Episode X" on Google and you'll get plenty of good links The same goes for NDT's new show...
  14. Not easy to balance education with the need to entertain people. They need a bit of "goofiness" to keep those Fox viewers entertained.
  15. Great program to promote science and critical thinking. Even better that they're airing it on Fox...because the average Fox viewer sure needs a healthy dose of science.
  16. Great movie...although I'm not a huge fan of the shift towards "horror movie" towards the end. They did the same to Sunshine and I also didn't like that ending.
  17. He likes explosions...which explains why he's always smiling when flying my crafts
  18. Mechjeb...a more complex version of Mechjeb
  19. If you've recently installed one of those fuel managers allowing you to swap fuel...make sure you actually put fuel into those tanks or else MJ won't show anything at all.
  20. In my experience showing them Youtube videos (Manly & Co.) is the best way to win them over. As for the "kids game" thing due to Kerbals, that tends to quickly change from "kids game" to "omg, I killed Jeb again" pretty quickly once they start playing
  21. At least there's something to take apart if needed. I have a new Macbook Pro...and while it's really nice overall, the fact that I can't even replace/upgrade RAM myself is pretty annoying.
