Correctamundo! And yes, that one sent me the wrong direction when I first encountered it, in one of the Professor Layton games. I reworded it here of course.

Well, here's one, bit different to the usual. The Patagonian giant gerbil is as renowned for its fecundity as its cuteness. A pair of gerbils can produce thirty-two babies in a single month, and they only take three months to grow up and start making babies themselves. If I buy a Patagonian giant gerbil today, how many will I end up with by the end of this year?

Well FAR used to suffer from exactly that kind of issue and nobody seemed to mind much, indeed it was rarely even *mentioned*. Though I'll grant that most FAR users prefer to make realistic craft rather than exploit the aerodynamics. But the fix to part occlusion isn't even the biggest issue, after all that's only likely to bother certain exploity or otherwise goofy craft. The change to basic physics parameters, on the other hand, has affected how *everything* flies. It's pulling the rug from under players who were just starting to get used to the new aerodynamics and who now find their previously-working craft suddenly don't perform any more. That is not something I or I think anyone expects from a "#.#.1" update.

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
cantab replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I back this request. FAR's analysis tools and its Flight Assistance are as important to me, if not more so, than its aerodynamic model. Designing a plane without the analysis tools is like designing a rocket without KER.- 14,073 replies

My two cents is that regardless of whether aerodynamic tweaks are "realistic", "fun", or whatever, they shouldn't be made in a minor update! The minor updates coming through a few days after the major one should be limited to fixing bugs that negatively impact the game. Balance chances, and even correcting exploitable/helpful but otherwise benign bugs, should wait for 1.1.

Winding things up in 0.90. I brought the Curtis Special back from LKO, with a rescued Kerbal onboard. It landed miles away from the Space Centre, but safely in one piece. Gliding into the sunrise by cantab314, on Flickr Safely landed by cantab314, on Flickr OK, so it wasn't quite as big a piece as it started out as

A diamond, ruby, or some other gemstone?

Fired up 1.0. Checked out the parts, some puzzling decisions with the engines, then built my first ship. My first 1.0 launcher by cantab314, on Flickr I had plenty of excess fuel, so I thought I'd go somewhere. Overengineered much? Let's go somewhere! by cantab314, on Flickr It's only Minmus, right? Well Val got cocky. Note the missing fuel tank, which had a cluster of 48-7S engines on it before the ship landed hard. Hey, down is down by cantab314, on Flickr I wonder if the RCS can get them back?

For most people I think canned air is the best way to clean electronics. If you do a *lot* of computer cleaning or you're especially concerned about the environment it can be worth getting a computer vacuum or similar tool, designed to avoid static buildup.

Took me a few moments to work out the answer.

And we have our winner!Expy: Called a colour, seems unfair, - Black, generally seen as a sombre or negative colour Called some water, I have more, - Pool, when it's by the sea With a beach that has no sands, - Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a theme park And lights turned on by famous hands. - The Illuminations that run every autumn and I think usually have a celebrity to turn them on The rock? Best made to disappear. - Blackpool Rock. You make it disappear by eating it. The garden? Place for eye and ear. - The Winter Gardens, home to a theatre So cross the tracks, but look both ways, - The town's tramways And hope for many sunny days. - Well dur. Nobody wants it to rain when they're on holiday! My tower inspired by one much higher, - The Blackpool Tower, based on the Eiffel Tower My team in bright orange attire, - Blackpool Football Club Fish is best fresh from the frier, - and with chips This riddle comes down to the wire. - An Incredibly Lame Pun, the Wyre is a river near Blackpool.

None. EDIT: It's nothing to do with a prison.

From what I've seen of past riddles I don''t feel hints like that are very helpful. They seem to just end up inviting a lot of scattergun guessing. This time I have been ruling out entire categories of thing as a stroke, usually in response to someone guessing a bunch of things in some category or other. But I suppose I can expand the riddle.Called a colour, seems unfair, Called some water, I have more, With a beach that has no sands, And lights turned on by famous hands. The rock? Best made to disappear. The garden? Place for eye and ear. So cross the tracks, but look both ways, And hope for many sunny days. My tower inspired by one much higher, My team in bright orange attire, Fish is best fresh from the frier, This riddle comes down to the wire.

Solid logic, but it's nothing to do with Mars I'm afraid.

Still none. It's not any sort of flag. And dang, I thought I made this one simple.

With 1.0 we will need a new concept of "Stock" for Spacecraft?
cantab replied to Daze's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't see it as a huge problem. It will just be a detail that sometimes needs adding, "Ship will not survive re-entry heating". -
Keyboard (and mouse) controls info is my guess. It would really help a novice to have that displayed or easily accessible. And as a pure bit of info adding it ought to need little testing.

This IMHO is an example of *why* Squad are badging the upcoming update 1.0. Not because the update is particularly significant on its own merits (though it *is* a fairly large one) but because they want to cast off that alpha/beta label in order to sell KSP in more places.
