I think it's about right. Maybe some of the excessively picky part testing contracts should be simplified. Maybe some more complex science experiments should be added, for example ones requiring multiple craft with the science equipment like a seismometer network or a pair of gravimetry satellites.

How do I run KSP on Linux WITHOUT Steam?
cantab replied to Whateverest's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
I've always just run KSP.x86_64 directly, what does the launcher actually do? Anyway, I recommend running KSP from the command line first, that way you'll get meaningful error messages if there are any problems. Something to consider for those who do have Steam: - When you run KSP through Steam, it will use Steam's versions of certain system libraries. When you run it directly, it will use the ones installed by your distribution. You might find one or other option works better. -
Or you have engine gimballing - SAS will make good use of that, so long as the engines are behind the centre of mass.

Looks like 2 and maybe 4 are the large scale issues now. My cemetery has nowhere near good enough coverage. Frankly, my city - if it can even be called that - is on the edge of doing a Detroit now And I may already need my first game mod, one to bulldoze abandoned buildings. Because playing Whack-a-Mole with them isn't good gameplay.

Good game, and runs well on my system. Sure is a load of complexity, it's a bit overwhelming at times. My first city has had its ups and downs. Health problems are rampant, which brings me to ask what causes water pollution? I have my water tower in a clean area, but pipes are running through polluted ground, does that pollute the water?

Most I've seen appear to either be through heavy cloud, or have the sun overexposed but the lens flare shows the crescent shape.Good photo from you.

You could take this over to the unmodded or modded support forums as appropriate. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a mod checking for updates.

I won't fly spacecraft without SAS. I won't fly aeroplanes with it.
-
I've used it for all of them. But the only thing I all but need it for is docking. I've done engine-only docking and it's a pain in the rear end.

Well the "asparagus stalk booster" was a real concept, but the definition used in KSP is rather particular to us. We often use the term "aerobraking" to also cover aerocapture, in real spaceflight they are generally distinguished. I've coined the term "gravicapture" myself to refer to using a gravity assist from a planet's moon to enter a closed orbit round the planet. Not seen others use the term or the method that much.

[1.3.1] Ferram Aerospace Research: v0.15.9.1 "Liepmann" 4/2/18
cantab replied to ferram4's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
From experience the L-Beta derivative is fixed on subsonic aircraft by adding dihedral to the wings or their tips. It's hard to see to what extent the original Vulcan had that. It's possible your inner wing segments, curved over the fuselage, are being treated as lifting by FAR and that could make things worse. You could also try sweeping the wing trailing edges back a bit. The Vulcan *did* have such a sweep, and on my Vulcan-inspired spaceplane I found it helped sort the L-Beta derivative in the transonic region, though I didn't alter it independently of the leading edge sweep so I can't be sure what was important. Your AoA chart also looks on the edge of stability, I'd be minded to nudge the wings just a shade back.- 14,073 replies

This...is an April Fool's joke right? There's no way these can be in the game. I mean, they'd put the EAS-1's IVA to shame, the quality clash will just jar so badly, I can't think why Squad would want to do that. Or are these going to be part of the Day 1 DLC pack, that would make more sense?

Sounds like Kasper's made a bunch of work for the mod team. Which is probably the best deterrent against any repeat prank announcements

What is the impending event/disaster coming to Kerbin...
cantab replied to justidutch's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Drastic change? On the contrary, the weatherman at Kerbal Space Centre - normally a useless job if ever there was one! - is predicting only minor alterations, likely down to subtle changes in solar activity. On the other hand the space program's engineers are rather apprehensive at being told their aerodynamic analysis tools are to be replaced with a new and unknown system. They like their friendly green and not-so-friendly red numbers. -
NEAR doesn't give you the analysis tools. Building planes in NEAR rather than FAR is thus analogous to building rockets with KER. Your only way to see how your design performs is to test fly it. Otherwise, general aerodynamic principles will apply, with the exception of those specifically related to supersonic flight. I've found reading about real-world aerodynamics can be helpful for FAR.

You never spoke a truer word.

Count me in the group who feel it's April Fool's Day, not April Fool's Month! Print magazines have an excuse for their April Fool's articles being early or late, websites don't. And Squad need to remember that as absurd as Kasper's scenario seems, debunkings always lag behind hoaxes on the internet. There will be a minority of readers who won't get the retraction.

Eclipse pictures! Greatest eclipse Setup More pics: https://flic.kr/s/aHsk9skjMs

For once I had something worth getting up early for! We got good views from Birmingham despite some thin cloud, pictures to upload later It was hard to notice much difference in brightness, it seemed like it might have been a bit dimmer but the effects of the clouds confounded that of the eclipse. Also our eyes are excellent at adapting to different light levels. Indoor lighting might be around 50-100 lux, whereas full sunlight could be 50-100 thousand lux. So even with sunlight reduced to 10% of normal it's still not a big difference in the grand scheme of things.

None. To save trouble, it's not any kind of computer part or peripheral.
