It has a Radioisotopic thermoelectric generator to power it during the 2 week nights on the Mun, a camera to keep an eye out for life forms or other landers, a sci package, a sensor package, and a dish to send back data to kerbal, at least in my mind it does.
-
Not quite a moon base, more an experiment package, but its a start. It hops off the nose and lands on its own lander legs with a dish pointed right toward Kerbal.
-
Is this like planking, or Owling, or Tebowing, for us KSPers?
-
Always wanted to try this now I have an excuse to waste even more time on KSP!
-
Great questions!! Have wondered about this myself.

Holy God this is a great mod!!! -
Wow!! Is it going to come with a broken solar array just the the real thing? And a Solar Shield to be deployed by the kerbals? And a fridge? And a Shower no one used? and a solar telescope mount?

I suck!! Yay!!

On another note...The STS was exciting, Raw Power and MOAR BOOSTERS for sure, but not designed to really be a 'space' craft instead it was an orbiting space-plane never meant to go beyond Earth orbit there were going to be Nuclear Tugs as part of the system of the STS (space transportation \'System\') to transfer payloads to higher orbits but they never came to fruition. The STS had so many design specifications put on it by the DOD (polar launches from Vandenberg AFB, Once Around Abort, Generally being a space weapons platform) that is was inherently not the true successor to the Saturn V which, please correct me if i am wrong, was a rocket which, was developed from war time technology (V-2 and von Braun) into a peaceful mission profile and had no military operational skeletons hanging in its Vehicle Assembly Building closet. President Kennedy had the option of building Project Orion (Nuclear powered space ship) but refused to fund it because he feared it would have started a nuclear arms race in space. Also don\'t forget the MOL (Manned Orbiting Laboratory) another canceled DOD space mission. The moon missions, and all of the US\'s space missions had to be a civilized attempt to bring man to the stars to contrast with the CCCP who were already putting weapons in space aboard their Almaz secret military space station which was equipped with a fixed 23mm autocannon to prevent hostile interception or boarding by American forces. In addition, the US has already replaced the STS with the The Boeing X-37 (also known as the Orbital Test Vehicle) which is a military shuttle to service secret spy satellites and who knows what else (there is one in orbit right now BTW). That was a long post but believe it or not concise and to the point of being a simpleton\'s explanation. I spent a good amount of time in the Netherlands/USA/Russia researching the STS, Mir, ISS, Soyuz, Almaz, Voskhod, Vostock, Apollo Moon missions, Skylab, and the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project for a Masters degree in international affairs, so I lived this stuff for a few years and have over one-hundred pages of a thesis which no one has read sitting on the ol\' flash drive. 'Leave the War at Home don\'t take it to the stars with us.' Oh, and I never saw an STS launch or any space launch for that matter...Its like a Bears fan never getting to Solider Field. I kick my self for this every day.

At my job KSP has become a sort of cult phenomenon and no one ever gets in trouble for excessively playing it on the clock...Let me explain. I have started a KSP club at the HS i teach at. It all began by me playing the game about 2 1/2 months ago in class and accidently leaving the projector on. The kids were mesmerized just watching me launch, crash, and burn... even without sound... during their advisory period (study hall) and I didn\'t even notice until one of them spoke up and asked, 'What is this, Mr?.' I showed them what KSP was all about: The freedom to design your own parts, play at your own pace, and learn by trial and error. The first student came up about 2 weeks after that and asked if he could get a copy of the game I obliged and before I knew it there was a cult following at my school. Since then it has blossomed into a full fledged club (based out of Science Club, and Electronics Club) with about fifteen highly active members and more than 75 students who play with the game but don\'t tend to stay after school. Its a great teaching tool for physics and science in general so although I am a Social Studies teacher the Science teachers are all over me to give tutorials on design and ship controls to their physics classes this is how I can get away with playing at work. The science teachers have been using it as a lab for their units on motion and (very) basic orbital physics. For me the strangest part is to to see such unlikely students take up the game, you would be surprised to see the thugish gangsters, popular girls, and spaciest stoners coming in with a flash drive and asking to get a copy of the latest edition from me (most of these kids don\'t have computers or even internet at home). Its become a real solid part of my teaching style/philosophy. I believe that the best way to learn is to watch and play. (You don\'t see killer whales taking classes on catching seals, they just learn by watching then playing and learning isn\'t forced but simply acquired.) The do it yourself nature of the game at this stage in its development is also a contributing factor in its popularity among the kids at my school. The students are quickly becoming the masters, learning faster than i can teach them about using an operating system, files, bugs, ect... I truly love this game

'Yoohooo' 'Yoohooo' '<yoo...hooo>' 'Oh, Bender. You didn\'t touch the Crushinator, did you?' 'Of course not. A lady that fine you gotta romance first.'

Sofa that is just Massive! Love It!!! Its astonishing how large a rocket is on the platform and how tinnie-winnie the return capsule ends up being.

[Guide] Fly me to the Mun
RedRockets replied to Artlav's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Not spamming just getting the widest and most varied opinions. I will post only to one thread next time or different versions of the same question. -
Those are awesome!! I know what i will be doing for the next few hours.
-
Try to land on that!!
-
At least it doesn\'t look like the moons around Mars.

Metric for science!!

Watch the Burt Rutan Ted Talk http://www.ted.com/talks/burt_rutan_sees_the_future_of_space.html He says that governments eventually will need to get out of space flight altogether and business will take over, but business is unwilling to take the risk of an orbital reentry until a new tech is developed to make it safer

Mine! Its a dirty joke!! Cartman: 'Red Rocket, Red Rocket'

I think 11/11 should still be called armistice day, for WWI, and there should be two other days for V-E day and V-J day. They each deserve their own day. We are getting ripped off of two more days off of work. Love the wankel rotary engine FoX!

LAST!!
-
I don\'t know how to model parts so i just come up with the detailed ideas!!

Very interested in this capsule you speak of where can i find it?
