  1. Today I worked on the B2 Sloped Endcap. It has Rover and Superstructure variants. For the Superstructure, there are long and short options as well as solid and corridor options. Here's a preview: And some context): NOTE: you'll need to use the Mini Logistics Module's new Pilot House variant to get the Sloped Endcap to line up like it does in these shots. I also worked on the new Buffalo Power Chassis. It is a short-length chassis segment that trades several batteries for a fuel cell and an integrated solar array. I didn't quite finish it, but here's a look:
  2. Bonus update! I got the ST-S1 Adapter done. It has a Station (thermal fabric) and Rover (smooth) variant: I also got the Buffalo Chassis Decoupler finished:
  3. Yeah, it takes awhile to load the game or change scenes. Today I built the B2 Endcap. It has Rover, Station, Superstructure, and Sub variants, and it comes in white and blue:
  4. Today, in between my career game loading, I finished two new parts: The Buffalo Chassis (Mini), and the Buffalo Chassis (Sloped): You can find them along with the new side hatch and new adapters in the latest pre-release.
  5. Many of the Buffalo parts have scratches, it is part of the weathering.
  6. Thanks for the feedback. There's still much more to do in Buffalo 2, but it's getting there...
  7. Today I built the RB-S1 Adapter: And some context: I have another version to make, one specifically for submarines, but it's basically the same as the above.
  8. Start in hover with 0 vertical speed, then wait for Da Choppah to stabilize, then increase vertical speed. Pitch down to increase horizontal speed, gradually pivot the tilt rotors horizontal. At about 80m/sec kill hover mode and jam the throttle to full.
  9. If you're looking for something like this, it's already done.
  10. Yeah, tilt rotors in jet turbine mode will get disabled underwater... Today I worked on the B2 Side Hatch (Short). This structural part sports deploy-able ladders and side doors that open and close. It also has endcaps like the short cargo bay. In fact, it doubles as a short cargo bay. Here's a preview: This part is handy for those other body components that don't have side hatches, but they do have front and back ones: Anyway, this part kicks off Buffalo 2 v1.2: Making Connections, which is part of my ongoing work for Phase 2. You can find the pre-release here.
  11. Thanks! Regarding the sound, it was hard to find a steady, consistent sound clip of the V-22, but the original sound sample was taken from one and I tweaked it. I also mixed in some Harrier jump jet noise for the turbine. When in Electric Motor mode, you won't (or shouldn't) hear the jet turbine...
  12. That's probably because other mods add part modules. My dev install isn't super clean. Did you have the same issues with the cargo bay as @Rutabaga22?
  13. Be sure to install the WildBlueCore that comes with the mod. You can also find it here. I hope Parallax 2 is JNSQ compatible soon!
  14. Buffalo 2 v1.1: GET TO DA CHOPPAH! Get it here. New Parts - TR-22 "Thunderbolt" Tiltrotor: Requires Kerbal Actuators (included) - TR-44 "Lightning Storm" Tiltrotor: Requires Kerbal Actuators (included) - Air Blast RCS Thruster: This RCS thruster runs on Atmosphere, allowing it to be used on any world with... wait for it... an atmosphere. - Buffalo Wing Type 1: Holds a small amount of LiquidFuel - Buffalo Wing Type 2: Holds a small amount of LiquidFuel - Buffalo Wing Type 3: Holds a small amount of LiquidFuel - Buffalo Wing Type 4: Holds a small amount of LiquidFuel - Buffalo Canard Type 1 - Buffalo Canard Type 2 - Buffalo Elevon Type 1 - Buffalo Winglets: Designed as a mounting point for landing gear. - Buffalo Wing Root: Holds a small amount of LiquidFuel. Can rotate if DockRotate is installed. - B2 Inline Ballast Tank: An inline ballast tank for submarines. Requires SunkWorks. - B2 Cargo Bay: Offers several different styles including Rover, Station, and Flatbed, optional endcaps, and optional cargo bay door styles. - B2 Cargo Bay (Short): Offers several different styles including Rover, Station, and Flatbed, optional endcaps, and optional cargo bay door styles. - LY-5 Mini Landing Gear: sub-scale version of the stock LY-10 Small Landing Gear.
  15. Yeah, I'll include it. It was definitely worth making the Choppah cockpit variant and include updated versions of the wings and tilt-rotors. I'm having fun with Da Choppah.
  16. I added door gunner observation seats to the Buffalo 2 Cargo Bay, then test flew the Buffalo 2 to the song of Voodoo Child:
  17. Well what do you know, it works, ROFL! Thanks for pointing that out. Today I reworked the tilt-rotors. The TR-22 and TR-44 have been renamed "Thunderbolt" and "Lightning Storm" respectively to reflect that they are now dual-mode engines with a Jet Turbine mode and Electric Motor mode. Plus, I textured the Rover and Flatbed cargo bays. You can find the latest pre-release here. Additionally, I've updated Kerbal Actuators. I've organized the hover controller, prop spinner, and actuator controls into their own groups- PAW groups didn't exist when I made Kerbal Actuators. And since I know people will complain that they can't use the helicopter parts and will forget to download Kerbal Actuators, it's now a requirement and part of the installation. No. Perhaps someone else will though.
  18. I haven’t made an electric engine since 2015 so it’s been awhile. If it is as simple a fix as ignoreForIsp = true, I’m gonna laugh.
  19. Well, I tried making the electric version of the tilt-rotors today but to no avail. I keep getting NaN errors when using EC & Atmosphere. Why, I don't know but for now they'll remain as LF/IntakeAir. Not sure why OG Buffalo worked, but given the complaints about EC usage, it's probably best to let it go for now.
  20. I was thinking of “Name of the Game” by Crystal Method. You hear it in Tropic Thunder. I figured the external command seat could serve that function. IntakeAir is typically defined as the breathab air surrounding Kerbin and Laythe. It has oxygen. KSP doesn’t have a comparable resource for planets like Duna or Eve, that have an atmosphere but not breathable air. The Atmosphere resource solves that problem. In order for electric tilt rotors to work, they would need Atmosphere. What I need to determine is if the stock part module that produces IntakeAir will also produce Atmosphere without requiring a resource distribution for every planet. If so, then that is half the problem of making electric tilt rotors work is solved.
  21. I took the Buffalo 2 out for a test flight. It has parts to make tilt-rotor aircraft like the original mod: Tthe cargo bay textures aren't done but they're usable. Anyway, Buffalo 2 is shaping up to surpass its predecessor.
  22. Today I finished the modeling of the new B2 Cargo Bay and B2 Cargo Bay (Short), and got most of the texture work done. The cargo bays have a variety of different styles such as: Rover: Station: And Flatbed: The Rover variant can be configured with gullwing doors (with or without windows): ... or sliding doors (with or without windows): You can also configure the Rover variant to have tob, bottom, both, or neither of the endcaps. Here once again is Da Choppah, using the new cargo bays: Again, the cargo bays aren't fully textured yet, but you can check out the latest pre-release here and give them a try along with the new wings and new tailcone.
