  1. The problem with this is that often you dont have so much energy in your vessel to report everything you want or to activate all devices simultaneously, so if this gets automated youll lose some interesting strategic point of the game dont you think so? Apart from that, i find the idea quite interesting. A path in the middle way could be that the game had an option that automatically tells you when your active vessel could make a new science-reward experiment, observation, whatever, and then each player decides if it is he tiime or not to do it.
  2. I just noticed there arent contracts for "commercial" flights to "private" kerbals. Some contracts could be done there: take X Kerbals (not kerbonauts) put them in orbit and transfer them to a previously deployed space station; or take them to the mun into the in-mun "resort" (finally some use to an outpost!) and fly them back of course. No science rewards here, just $$$. Maybe some comodities woud be required in the vessel/outpost...
  3. Some tests landed on kerbin are so easy to achieve they should be removed. Contracts coul be organized related to the body they have to be done at. Succesfully contracts trying new prototypes could give you the part available for its use. Contracts for putting in orbit telescopes, for cartographying bodies (with new science devices maybe, long missions than require changing orbit latitude/longitude) Contracts for invetigating anomalies in bodies like: NPC vessel or debris, geological events (volcano, liquid flow, geyser, ice geyser, gas leak), Contracts for removing dangerous debris.
  4. imho, cameras could give scy points as well as extra view points. The real images that probes usually send to earth are black and white because they weight less than coloured ones i believe, and then colored here. But with powerful antenna and energy source color images could be trasmitted too. Different cameras that cover all electromagnetic spectre could be available with science advances. And telescopes should be a must too.
  5. Hi to all, as KSP is achieving 1.0 and more realistic features are being developped, i suggest some realistic stuff that could enhace gameplay and give interest to all kind of players: - First of all, putting telescopes on orbit should be a must (telescopes could be a fixed part, and contracts would be available for them). Like in real life, with the science advance, newer and better ones could be available. - With the help of telescopes or with the help of some probes orbiting planets, some "anomalies" could be detected, for instance, an unusual flow of methane inland (mars? :-) ). Some contract should appear to go and investigate the site with a lander probe (manned or robotic, could vary from one contract to another). The mission should be quite accurate in the landing or not, and might require the use of different science devices (existing or new). - Ideas for those anomalies could include: volcanic events, geysers (ice and liquid ones), gas flow, even some organic life... That could lead to gain information about the planet and "understand" the kerbal system and gain a lot of science! What do you think?
  6. As i read from the post, the problem is related to bad programming of the game, isnt it? in a "normal" dituation, there wouldnt be any problem with that, you just launch the bomb with parachute and return with the plane, then go to space center and go to the splashed probe. This should be an issue to report at bugs dont you think so?
  7. I dont know how many hours ive played, but ive left the game / then retake it after some months twice or three times. Albeit i always left on purpose the most difficult challenges undone so that i always can have a motivation to play it again. Now with 0.9 the thing is more or less the same, just for curiosity i try new contracts, and try to take more than one Kerbal on the missions because of experience, but overall is the same. Maybe with life support restrictions and new planets/moons the game would attract elder platers again...
  8. Well, the question then is: Is it possible to build real world bigger ion engines? Would they be reasonabily efficient? It could be a more advanced technology to be researched with more science points
  9. Hi, I suggested in "suggestions" to implement a bigger xenon tank. Some ppl argued that until no bigger ion engines are implemented, the tank would be useless or at least with situational use. My question is: Is it possible in real world to build bigger ion engines? Would they be efficient? If the answer is 'yes' then it could be good idea to include them in the main KSP.
  10. From my point of view, science is ok as it is now, i should only enlarge the tech tree, adding further levels of research with future technology. I believe that having all the tech discovered with the actual game only gives us the technology available in real world up today, but what about next ten or twenty or fifty years' tech? I think it would be very fun adding some new features that are planned to be used or developped in the future, for instance lighter EVA suits or solar sails which have already be tested (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_sail). With the introduction of the contract system and therefore some economical simulation, ultra expensive and titanic proyects like Orion rocket ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Orion_(nuclear_propulsion) ) could be done provided you have enough funds. Also, in real life the ultimate quest of space science is to find life in other planets. KSP science could also be oriented to that, at least try to reflect that search more consistently.
  11. Sorry, you finally understood my question. Thanks for the info.
  12. Well, making a bigger one wouldnt hurt anybody though...
  13. Is real world hydrazine monopropellant contemplated as RCS monopropellant ingame?
  14. Hi, first of all, i dont know if this has been already suggested, anyway ill do: It could be sometimes useful to have a big xenon container, not for tiny ships of course, but for "motherships" with a small manned Xenon probe. Take for instance an ambitious manned mission to Jool system with the purpose of landing in as many moons as possible and then return to the mothership. For the lightest moons, it would be possible to use a xenon powered lander that later returns to orbit. It could then be refuelled with the Xenon of the mothership, stored in a big container, which is why im making this post. Agree, we can still use lots of smaller ones, but i think a big one will perfectly fit in the game. What do you think? Will it be added in the next update ?
  15. I could rescue one of them lost longtime ago orbiting kerbol far from anywhere. No scientific reward, just for Kerbality (=humanity?)
  16. Ive never been able to succesfully land on Moho despite 5 or more attempts... I hate that tiny body I tried to assemble a big spaceship at Minmus orbit, then there i realized the different vessels didnt have the same docking ports!
  17. They can be clipped, im afraid. Ill check this night. Thanks for all the tips
  18. Excuse me, im spanish, can you explain what do you mean with being clipped?
  19. Maybe Sr works, but then ill have to spend a lot of time rebuilding and relaunching ships... Sigh
  20. A relation between massiveness, dock size and alignment....
  21. Well, both port have been already used, i undocked descending modules, so the problem might be in other place. I suspect
