  1. Agreed. ResourceS (plural) was a big selling point for me. Having to scope out planetary bodies, choose base locations based on what resources you need then spending those resources to go further to build new bases to get more resources and on and on seems like a way more engaging gameplay loop than “test this parachute at 50k meters” and “slap all science parts on a spacecraft and hop around the moon for 6 hours to finish the tech tree” I like sandbox games but not in creative mode. Like survival in Minecraft. I want to build interesting things and go to new places but I don’t want any quest markers. And if it’s just fully the creative mode I always spend less time in it as part of the fun of the creative process (to me) is working within restraints. Let me as the player learn where the resources are and my desire to keep building will send me on mining expeditions to build cooler things that can mine cooler things and so on.
  2. And as you are there still waiting for breakfast another diner comes in. Gets upset and asks for their money back quickly. Gets their money back but management comes over and says, “no come back it’s now happy hour 20% off” As you don’t consider the standard bread and butter on the table to count as the meal you have ordered and waited hours for you ask your waiter if, since you have waited patiently and politely and have yet to get anything you ordered, if you can get the happy hour discount. The waiter, management, and even grumpy customer all laugh at you. Another hour passes and you all still only have bread and butter but the waiter has come back out and described with illustrations (not actual pictures) how delicious your pancakes will be.
  3. The moving goal posts on expectations and subsequent gaslighting has been entertaining at least. really wish I didn’t accidentally leave ksp2 running on the background over a weekend by accident. If I hadn’t and my play time was accurate at about 3 hours and not the 50~ish hours my steam account claims maybe I could’ve gotten that refund.
  4. @Nertea I think it was useful. I like the new direction in thermals and am excited for those new systems as they are expandable to the new scale of KSP2. To be completely clear, my criticism was to the marketing of the game. This update was nice. It would have also been nice for it to have been clear 5 months ago how much still needed to be done here, but that’s not your fault so thanks for the update, I enjoyed reading it and look forward to seeing it in action.
  5. In regards to the second paragraph I agree with you. The phrasing “across the board” means you are addressing all points. Had he just said very incorrect I would agree with you. He said “very incorrect across the board” which makes the statement “very incorrect” apply to “science is 1/2 a year away” I only mentioned the science part of the communication because that is the relevant part. If you would like, I can add the screenshot to the first comment to make it clear what was said. I in no way meant to misrepresent anyone. And yeah. He shouldn’t be communicating with the community if he over promises on features and timelines, even if because of a misunderstanding. Being clear and under promising when in doubt is part of community relations. Now that the overpromise has been communicated I would like a response saying “yeah that was a misunderstanding” It’s been months, it was top of r/Kerbalspaceprogram for more than a day. There was an opportunity to correct the misunderstanding and they didn’t. So either it wasn’t a misunderstanding, or they don’t care to acknowledge the overpromising that has been made in the past. edit: fyi I just added the image to my first reply to this thread. The direct source is now visible.

  7. For me to be lying, from launch until now there must have been a content update. Not a bug fix an actual content update. This could just be an update that replicates features of KSP1, or even new features. As we have had neither (and are unlikely to get one in the next four weeks) I’m not lying to say that Darrin was incorrect when he said I was incorrect. Because I am correct so far, in 1/2 a year there have been no content updates in KSP2. If one comes out in the next 4 weeks Darrin is at least partially correct. So let’s see how that goes but I was clear on that in my first comment that they still have 4 weeks.
  8. And if Darrin just misread it that’s fine. Like I’m not asking for groveling just a “in the past some communication may have indicated that science was releasing within 6 months of launch. This was communicated because of a misunderstanding and is incorrect we are sorry but are excitedly implementing science as fast as we can” Or something similar to that in this dev update about “short while after launch” just acknowledge that the communication has been misleading at times. Even if unintentional. edit: also that post was highly upvoted on Reddit months ago. They saw the message and had a chance to respond and clarify it it was a misunderstanding but haven’t.
  9. @Spicat ok. Direct me to the content updates that duplicated features of KSP1 that have released thus far. If none come in the next 4 weeks no matter how you interpret my message I was correct.
  10. He said incorrect across the board. That would include the first statement. In my view science is duplicating features of KSP1. Lets leave it at that then. I’m not lying. Grumpy for sure and disagree with me on that but not lying. And, while I love the concept of thermals now, and think Nertea’s new ideas for a bit more abstraction are great and make me excited for KSP2, Here we have it. Confirmation that they’re are still in the conception phase, at least partially. 5 months after it was supposed to be here after a short while.
  11. Here is the exact wording back and forth. As heating and science are, in fact, features of KSP1 no I’m not lying. And if he did read it as 1 or 2 years he still misread and didn’t correct himself then or now. So show me where I lied. Disagree about how much it should bother me that’s fine but I’m not lying.
  12. @Strawberry First, This post is discussing the concept of thermal systems. I was expecting “here’s how thermals work (which we got) and here’s the bugs/optimization problems keep us from releasing it right now” We didn’t get the second part. It’s still being developed. They’re not patching it they’re making it. So maybe conception phase is already past, we don’t know because they still haven’t fully released how it will work, but if it is it’s still in the implementation phase. Not much better to me this far past launch. (Again Nertea you do good work this criticism is to the publishing side and statements made at launch, not your work) And second, 4 weeks because in 4 weeks the game will have been released for 6 months. So unless science and thermals come in 4 weeks (unlikely from this post) the statement that science was at least 6 months way was correct and not incorrect as was claimed. Also, thanks for asking and discussing in a respectful way. I hope I clarified well.
  13. As steam wouldn’t refund me for the game and I’d rather be wrong about KSP2 never reaching 1.0 than have wasted $50, this is an interesting update. Nertea does good stuff, thanks for the update. Also this seems to make it clear that the “short while after launch” without reentry heating was a known and purposeful lie. The system is still in the conceptual phase of development. We’re five months in and months away from heating effects. Y’all knew it wasn’t coming soon and lied. Can we get an apology (I would prefer an explanation but know that’s not happening) for the lies surrounding launch? And maybe from Darrin an apology for snarkily saying I was “very incorrect across the board” for saying science was at least 1/2 a year from release? Unless y’all are planning on finishing heating and science and the remaining game breaking bugs in the four weeks you have left? edit spelling (changed the word “one” to “on”) edit 2: for clarity’s sake a direct image of the communication from the developers is now included so that I do not in any way misrepresent the statement.
  14. Yeah because the community must be expected to read every message in the discord and “unless” is not saying “except for the first planned sale for steam summer sales”
  15. To be clear. I believe he is telling the truth here. That in fact does not make me any less upset. Yup. Short of drastic changes I will never buy another Intercept Games game again or any Kebral merchandise.
  16. So nice of them to tell us they were planning a 20% off sale in the summer before adding any content outside of a couple old parts from KSP1 and 1 new type of engine in a few sizes.

  18. I have bought a couple EA games including KSP1. None have them have been this buggy not even close, and with the exception of KSP1 none of them have been this barebones but KSP1 was basically free when I bought it.
  19. I want to highlight that all of your communications (and honestly every IG employee who has commented here or elsewhere in the KSP space) is appreciated and you all have always communicated in a very respectful manner. I take you all at your word that you are fans of KSP, and are honest people trying to make a great game. Your hard work is appreciated and there are several little details in KSP2 that show it is a work of love. But the decisions in regards to the publishing side of the game (EA launch in the state it was in, nearly full game price tag, discount before any major progress on the roadmap) have ruined my hope for this project. I’m not trying to point any fingers, I just genuinely feel like the publishing side (not developers, not CM, not QA) has soured too many fans too much and it’s past the breaking point. I’ve flipped like 6 times in four months from optimistic to critical and I feel I have landed firmly on the critical side (again due to the publishing decisions, not any of the decisions made by any employee who has ever interacted with the community.) I only reply to say that if all of your hard work in rebuilding trust is not enough and we never see KSP2 realized as we all want it’s not your fault and all of you who genuinely did your best are appreciated; Take Two is who burned the trust of the community. With that I’m out, just wanted to say thanks before I left. If you all are able to somehow keep the funding long enough to bring the game around I’ll be back grateful to have been wrong.
  20. Refund requested, (for protest I know I’m not getting it back), deleted and bad review left. I may not comment here much but check my profile I’ve been playing KSP for a while now. Back to modded KSP1 it is. When the game is cancelled maybe after the modders finish it I’ll redownload.
  21. Fair enough. Now that i see even mods liking sarcastic and condescending replies saying it’s unreasonable to be upset and being charged extra for the game I’m done. Will try to return the game tonight and if I can’t delete it and get off the internet. This team is no longer worthy of trust to deliver a finished product or respect their customers.
  22. And this time you were able to voice your opinion without condensation. My response is that yes this is a business decision but one that shows the game is in trouble. And that I made a bad decision when I “invested” in early access by buying and not returning.
  23. You are allowed to your opinion and to discussing why you think this is acceptable. I and others are offended and are explaining why we feel so. Please do not hyperbolize our arguments. Players who refunded were rewarded, those who were loyal were penalized. That is upsetting and the rush to give a sale for the game may indicate the game is in financial trouble. That is my argument. No where did I say it was the worst thing that ever happened.
  24. Good catch. So now that this lie has been caught, if the funding really is solid and there is no problem, surely as a thank you to the early adopters that 20% discount can be prorated to us who didn’t refund. Or was that a lie too?
