I can only tell you something about my setup, which is AMD FX-8320 with 8GB of RAM and Nvidia GTX650 on Ubuntu 14.04 x64. Currently I have 41 mods installed taking up 3,5 GB RAM after opening the game (no texture compression). -

At least once I can say that on Linux it's so much better. 64bit version working like a charm with all the mods you want - - - Updated - - - AFAIK it is working OK, the thing is that the 1.0 version of KAS will bring big changes, rendering some/most of your current missions with KAS inoperable or buggy to some extent. -

Hey! For couple of days now I am on Kerbal Testing Grounds (a copy of game that I use for testing ) trying to research which mods can be safely played on linux. I've tested dozens of them and selected ones that go to the next stage of the project - extensive gameplay testing. Here are the mods that I was able to get running on Ubuntu 13.10 in a 32bit game (at the moment used mods crash 64bit version, but 32 bit is not that far behind when it comes to game performance). I hope that someone will find that info usefull: Mods that I was able to start game with (all together I mean, thats the point of the testing) and play for half an hour: (all current versions. I will add the version numbers and proper names later) - Toolbar - CustomBiomes - Distant Object - Dmagic Orbital Science - Engineer Redux - FerramAerospaceResearch - Firespitter - KAX - Kethane 0.8.5 - Klockhead_Martian - KSPScienceLibrary - MagicSmokeIndustries - MissionController - Docking Port Alignment 3.11 - Procedural Fairings - RealSolarSystem - ScanSat - ScienceAlert - ThunderAerospace (Lifesupport and fuelbalancer) - UmbraSpaceIndustries (Modular Kolonization System) - Joint Reinforcement Now I will test those in extensive gamplay to check if they work fine in later stages of the game. Those mods work with the above but I decided to play without them (I want to have best gameplay experience possible): - Deadly Reentry 4.7 - Environmental Visual Enhancements 7.3 - Better Atmosphere - Building time
