  1. How easy would it be to make the reverse, locking brakes? I\'d like to have an airfield where my spaceplanes don\'t go rolling around on their own.
  2. If you assemble it in the VAB, import it into the SPH, and the rotate it, you can lift off vertically on the runway with no obstructions.
  3. MechJeb\'s ascent autopilot does a good job with rockets, but it doesn\'t help with spaceplane launches. I have no idea what angles are best or how you should adjust the throttle.
  4. Solution to inefficient take-off - reverse the plane in the SPH and start off facing the correct direction! I overshot KSC2\'s VAB at 294m above ground - 23:09! Touchdown was clean, but the ship flipped and exploded when I applied the brakes. I\'m certain someone can do it faster than this! A better ascent profile or higher cruising altitude could make a significant difference. On the runway: In flight: Flyover, 23:09: For the curious, a constant heading of 287 degrees makes a perfect straight line toward KSC2\'s basin.
  5. Smallest I could make that still flies. It doesn\'t fly well, but it\'s manageable.
  6. Silly Russians, they put their wings on backwards! Definitely the Sukhoi Su-47 Berkut. Those crazy Russians.
  7. Got it in 24:32, flyby at 86 m above surface. I landed shortly afterward but lost my ASAS nosecone while braking. No fuel left to taxi though, so it didn\'t matter. Looks like a tiny ship on a single rocket-fuel tank is enough to get there. On the runway: Flying past the VAB:
  8. Landed ~3 km away, 32:56. Not bad for my first attempt. Taxied to the VAB, 37:75. Craft used: Mustangrande\'s LC-103 MASTODON (because it looks cool) http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=12535.msg196225#msg196225 with some changes: *Replaced engine with turbojet *Added 2 fuel tanks because I was unsure of the flight range *MechJeb to lock heading and maintain pitch
  9. Much safer than it looks, stable flight, recovers from most spins by itself. Nice stuntplane! Thanks for sharing!
  10. This thing is surprisingly nimble. Probably need a joystick to fully appreciate it. The roll controls are way touchy on a keyboard.
  11. Tosh\'s di-coupler looks even stranger. The middle of the fuselage has a gap in it, and the tail is split into two parts. There\'s nowhere to put the tail fin. I saw others clipping the fuel tanks for visual effect - I think it works ok.
  12. My take on the General Dynamics F-111 Aardvark, The Purple Space Corp. 111 Anteater! Turn ASAS on, and take off at about 100 m/s. Be very careful when nosing down or the craft will spin out of control. Rolls fine with ASAS. Disable temporarily when attempting to turn. Ship: Reference:
  13. Performs great. I had the nose slightly up to maintain level flight at around 15k, hit 767 m/s. Fun to fly. http://i46.tinypic.com/15ezo6.jpg
  14. Says the guy who made a fairly believable F/A 18 clone ...
  15. KSA1 Weedwhacker Takes off on its own. Turn by banking and then adjusting pitch. Using yaw to turn will likely send you out of control. Pitches up and down with some resistance. SAS will keep it flying very straight.
  16. Works as advertised, even with a keyboard. Pretty nimble. Thanks for sharing! Edit: Teehee, added a landing brake!
  17. Ugly, turns like a cruise ship, but at least it\'s somewhat balanced. Took about 4 attempts before I made something that didn\'t do flips repeatedly in the air.
  18. A community airfield somewhere on Kerbin, where people can all park their spaceplanes? Sounds cool to me, especially if there was a runway out there to land on.
  19. Alright, I\'ve advanced this project into a more usable state. I\'d like it to be an online applet, but I\'d have to go to some extra trouble to make it happen. It\'s limited right now to a couple packs but I expect to expand it very soon.
  20. Lazurkri: Your installation should look like this: If double-clicking the .bat file does opens a window and immediately closes it, try the following: 1. Open the Start Menu. In the search bar, type 'cmd' without quotes, and hit enter. 2. If your KSP folder is not on your C drive, change the current drive in the command window by typing the drive letter followed by a colon: 3. Now type 'cd' in the command window followed by a space, and drag the icon of your KSP folder into the command window. Hit enter. Should look like this (your folder path may be different): 4. Type 'kessler_editor.bat' and hit enter. Either the editor will start, or you will get an error message of some sort. I hope these instructions are as clear as they can possibly be.
