Bug with docking on a "platform"

This is a bug with docking using the Advanced Grabbing Unit/Claw. ATM, if the active vessel runs into a deployed claw, the world is destroyed. You can work around this by having the docking vessel carry the claw or using docking ports. For your platform, you might also try hitting G to lower the landing gear and immediately switching to the other vessel with [ or ]. Also, the Imgur tag is [noparse] [/noparse], or [noparse] [/noparse] for this album. -

Moving this (provisionally) to Support (unmodded installs) as that sounds more like a bug than anything else. Please read the [thread=92230]Stock Support and Bug Reporting Guide[/thread], or the [thread=92229]How to Get Support[/thread] sticky if you have mods. It would really help to have pictures of the craft in question. If it's repeatable, you could provide a quicksave and reproduction steps, too. Lastly, please provide your output_log.txt/Player.log.

I wouldn't be so sure. Looking at the quote Scoundrel found, it seems there's been some wishful misinterpretation of HarvesteR's words: To me, that "we" means the devs rather than players, meaning the code could be extended for clamshell fairings, but that feature may not have been implemented. Try them out when 1.0 is released next week to see what they actually do in the release version. If they're not to your liking, you can post a feedback report and I'm sure we can help you find a few mods that meet your aesthetic sense. I'm partial to [thread=39512]Procedural Fairings[/thread] with [thread=68892]blackheart's textures[/thread]. -
Hi Vexxus9999, I've removed the download link until you are able to bring it into compliance with the [thread=87841]Add-on Posting Rules[/thread]. Specifically, you need to add licenses for this mod as well as both mods you redistribute to the OP as well as the download. You'll also need to provide the source – you can solve that by link to the plugin threads, assuming they provide source. At least one of those mods requires attribution, and it's generally a good idea to provide credits even if it's not required.

A few possibilities come to mind: Did you have available fuel? Did you have an active engine? Was the engine facing the right direction? I ask because so many of us have experienced at least one of these problems. Otherwise, a quicksave right before causing the problem would help. -

Derivatives of public domain works do not have to be released under public domain, and Eudae55 can feel free to change the license s/he typically provides. On the forums, the rule is that without a provided license, we assume all rights reserved. -

I pulled out my joystick and set it up for KSP 0.90. It worked just as it did with KSP 0.24.2. The good news is that joystick support was overhauled for 1.0, so the problem may already be fixed. If not, more information to narrow down why some joysticks work and others do not would help. Could you both post copies of your settings.cfg?
