  1. 9/10 Replicas and the old parts. What's not to like?
  2. I've just been sitting back here just watching people argue back and forth on this for the last month. The argument starts to seem rather circular, after a while. "The drive has been validated by multiple laboratories." "It could be exploiting something unknown in physics." "No, it's unlikely that we've never observed this until now." "But we are observing it now." "We're not even sure if it is something previously unobserved. We need to test it in space to be sure." "But it's been tested in a vacuum. And there was the warp field interferometer (that is what it's called, right?) test." "Not a perfect vacuum. And the interferometer test was not in a vacuum at all (I think). Only a test in space can be sure of it's functionality. It's probably just experimental error, though." "But it has been validated by multiple laboratories..." Personally, I'm just waiting here to see what happens. We'll probably know for certain in a year or two if it works or not (and I really hope that it turns out to work, even though it probably won't), but I don't see too much use arguing about it or trying to hypothesize whether it works until there's more data. If it works, it works. If it doesn't, it doesn't.
  3. 3/10 Seen you around. Not much, and mostly in forum games, but around.
  4. Try binding the wheel control keys to IJKL instead of WASD. Or just turn off your reaction wheels and RCS.
  5. Banned because I can't understand half of what you post.
  6. Yeah, there really should be more pure LF tanks. Maybe do what B9 aerospace (through the firespitter mod?) does and have multiple tweakable versions of each tank, some with a different texure/model.
  7. That's right, I think. Got "retractable" and "extendable" confused, somehow.
  8. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dawn_%28spacecraft%29 Look under Specifications: Dimensions. EDIT: Got "retractable" and "extendable" confused. My brain does this to me, sometimes. Though I don't see why retractable solar panels would be overly difficult to build, if the need for them arose (if it already hasn't).
  9. Graphics are all the way up except for antialiasing. But I did forget to turn down the vacuum ambient light on Planetshine before snapping the shot (had it all the way up so that I could look around on the night side), so that could be something I could try.
  10. Not entirely sure where to put this. One of my first missions to Jool I landed back on Kerbin near a large mountain with a fjord next to it. To me, the view look absolutely beautiful. After recovering the vessel, I decided that I wanted to go back and look at it some more. However, I couldn't remember. I didn't have a screenshot because I didn't know how to take screenshots back then, so I had no hints as to its location except that I knew that it was in the southern hemisphere. I tried to find it, but I eventually gave up. However, earlier today I opened up Hyperedit and started jumping around, and there it was: It doesn't look as good as my memory made it, but this thing has been bugging me for over a year and it's good to know that I'm not crazy. Coordinates are approximately latitude -28, longitude 324.
  11. So I take it that you don't like the nuclear powered asparagus staged Tylo lander that I used in my Jool-5 mission?
  12. Often, I will enter the tracking station and realize that I have dozens of bits of debris scattered around Kerbin. However, I then have to go over the surface of the planet, clicking on every leftover fuel tank, every rcs thruster that survived a rough landing, to get the surface cleared off. So, I'd like to see a button in the tracking station that automatically recovers all of the debris on Kerbin's surface.
  13. I always try to disassociate a person's post quality from their post count. It's hard sometimes, though. If I see someone make a dumb comment, my eyes automatically jump to the post count and join date, so that I can see how long they've been around. It's just human nature, I guess, to trust people who have been around longer. When I see someone who joined just a day or two ago and have less than than twenty posts, in spite of my best efforts, part of me instantly assumes that their post is of very low quality. Then I read it and have to kick myself when it's an intelligent and insightful comment. At the same time, I've seen some some incredibly dumb posts from people who have have a thousand+ posts, a green reputation bar, and have been around since 2012.
  14. But the aerospike isn't a nozzle that you can just stick on any old rocket engine. It uses a completely different design from regular engines. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerospike_engine
  15. Nothing like a nice hole in you boat to ruin your day.
  16. 0/10 Wait... Crew is important? Oh dear.
  17. Yeah. I know your plight. I've been pulled into books and have had a hard time not reading them at every chance I get (i.e, reading while walking). Have a free link to a book I liked: http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/f/robert-l-forward/dragons-egg.htm
  18. I liked it. I feel like it could have spent a few more minutes explaining what was going on in the beginning, but I really liked it. The brutal, dystopian, steampunk-ish art style stayed true to the old movies. The action was over-the-top with tons of explosions and crashing cars, which is exactly what I want out of an action movie.
  19. Recently, I've noticed that the blackbody radiation effect is not fading away as it should, even after the parts have cooled to normal levels. Here is a a spaceplane just after orbit and landing: Here is the same plane one Kerbin day later: Log files: http://www./view/9ath7tn66m6vc1w/output_log.txt 32 bit Windows KSP version 1.0.2 Mods installed: Planetshine Texture Replacer Distant Object Enhancement QuickSearch MechJeb HyperEdit
  20. Sounds like a problem with the design of the rocket to me. Could you post a picture of it?
  21. I was wondering. Does the UTC place you in a totally arbitrary place in interstellar space, or will you always arrive in a star system.
  22. 9/10 Good achievements. Good quote.
  23. Why use a mine probe when you could just mine?
