  1. It's even worse than that. You don't actually need a lot of engines or intakes to do it. Yes, turbo jets are ridiculous in KSP. Best, -Slashy

    Riddles

Funny how it always turns out that the ones I expect to be easy wind up being difficult. Repost of the riddle: Hint #1: The aforementioned clown musings regarding my methods are an internet meme.

    Riddles

This is my favorite guess so far, but none of them are correct yet. Best, -Slashy
  4. My design was exactly the same as yours, just with the stayputnik. I'll put it up when I get home after work. No way I can make such a light craft work without reaction wheel torque. Best, -Slashy

    Riddles

A quick and dirty riddle: I am instrumental in the process of listening to the musing of clowns about how I work. I am... Best, -Slashy
  6. Deutherius, Fine example of thinking outside the box! If it stands, I think you've got the record forever. Best, -Slashy

    Riddles

    New riddle imminent... Best, -Slashy
  8. CitizenAerospace, He's left that wide open intentionally. So long as it is capable of repeated flights and is within the stated rules, you should be good to go. Deutherius, It's possible to go more extreme. I'm flying a 70kg 4 part craft out to the island without too many issues, but I keep exceeding the ceiling on landing due to my lack of piloting awesomeness If I don't pull it off, I imagine somebody (probably you) will. Good luck! -Slashy
  9. The Life of Brian. "Wait... I didn't eat the salmon mousse!"
  10. The Apollo missions were packed with activities. No time to be bored and barely enough time to sleep. Now Gemini 5... *that* was a boring mission! Same flight duration as the Apollo moon shots, but nothing to do. Best, -Slashy
  11. Nuthin? Okay, this was from my favorite MP skit "Woody Words". Someone else's turn... Best, -Slashy
  12. All of them. I've never used an autopilot. Or MechJeb for that matter. I do all my own DV calculations. Best, -Slashy - - - Updated - - - I have a tutorial for that you might find interesting. I call it the "reverse gravity turn technique". Best, -Slashy
  13. Another one from the Holy Grail. "Caribou!" "Splendid word." "No, dear. Nibbling the croquet hoops." *BLAM* "Caribou.... goooone."
  14. Okay, this is the best I think I'm capable of. Meet Lil' Kraken's little brother: Nano2 http://s52.photobucket.com/user/GoSlash27/slideshow/KSP/2low/Nano2 The last pic is just to show that it could take off again. 90kg and 5 parts. http://wikisend.com/download/871984/nano2.craft I could theoretically make this thing lighter, but I haven't been able to pull it off so far. It's also a bit of a pain in the butt to fly. Best, -Slashy
  15. http://s52.photobucket.com/user/GoSlash27/slideshow/KSP/2low/Nano1 http://wikisend.com/download/510758/nano1.craft Figured I'd pad my record a bit for lightest craft. Mdkendall was a little too close for comfort New lightest aircraft is .14 tonnes. Also fewest parts at 8.
  16. I see no way for that swallow to grip a coconut by the husk.
  17. You can also try disabling the rudder entirely. I find that having an active rudder makes the plane fight my control. Best, -Slashy
  18. Hehe... I'd better get back to the lab. I'm pretty sure you can find an extra 20kg somewhere! Best, -Slashy
  19. Captain Vlad gave me the "ion glider" itch, so here's my entry: http://s52.photobucket.com/user/GoSlash27/slideshow/KSP/2low Mass 0.6 tonnes? <-- map view says 0.46 tonnes, VAB counts massless parts and says 0.6 Flawless completion ET 9:01 Min altitude 0M Best, -Slashy
  20. I built a jet boat that has enough fuel to circumnavigate Kerbin at over 80m/sec. /bored -Slashy
  21. I finished my tech tree without a Mun landing. Starting out sucks because it's so grindey, but the contracts make it a cinch to max out the tech tree. Some rebalancing here is in order IMO. Best, -Slashy
  22. I'm going to buck the crowd and say Eve. It's reasonably easy to land safely there, I'm just never really confident that it'll happen where I intended. Plus you're doing it with a big fragile lander and no room for error in the DV budget. Best, -Slashy
  23. If it looks about right but it's not accepting it, you probably launched the wrong way. Watch the spinning lights on the target orbit. Best, -Slashy
