  1. I'll admit the fracturing and stratification of all those rocks is interesting. It would be nice if there was something there to scale the size of stuff. As for pyramids... from what I'm looking at, it's not even the proper shape/dimensions for a 'pyramid'.
  2. I've seen comment made in two different articles today (perhaps better stated: speculation) about how the data we're about to gain from Pluto just might put it back into the 'planet' category again... as in, goodbye dwarfism status. (YAY... if true)
  3. I thought it had been determined and decided and announced. I could have sworn it was Frida Space who made the post about it, but all I'm finding is a reference made by Spock1108... the object being "PT1". http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/102112-New-Horizons?p=2071226&viewfull=1#post2071226
  4. I figured as much, although I thought someone (Frida Space?) had posted that they'd decided on that already ... hence my question. I suppose I'll have to wait until a trajectory is determined after that last object is visited.
  5. Nice. Bookmarked. I'm wondering, do they know 'where' New Horizons is heading ... like is known of the Voyagers ... where will it end up ultimately?
  6. Any chance there's a map yet indicating the locations of the newly named features? Edit: Only thing I've found so far is this - http://astrobob.areavoices.com/2015/04/14/dwarf-planet-ceres-a-more-colorful-view/ A topographic map of Ceres with provisional names given to each quadrangle. Ceres’ craters are named for agricultural gods; other features after world agricultural festivals. 7. I've got Celestia on a little 10 inch (Dell) netbook which I take outside and use to find 'things'.
  8. I believe a flyby is possible, but we would need to get working on it soon. As for such a probe's potential longevity, the Voyager craft (among others) have proven we can accomplish that. That stirs another issue in me, the fact that we've proven technology, yet we're not using it ... the Saturn V is perfect example ... instead we're wasting money mucking around with a whole series of failing lifters.
  9. I recall the line, but I cannot place it.
  10. Sit or stand could have a lot to do with where you live in this world ... and what hand you work with. So much for that. Next poll: When you put your pants on, is it left leg first?... or right?
  11. Greece should relish that right about now.
  12. A number of the preceding comments have me posing this question, a thing I've been wondering about for some time now: Will we make an attempt to visit Sedna? Time is running out to do so. If we don't do it soon, we'll have to wait somewhere on the order of 12,000 years for its next pass.
  13. "It's all fun until somebody gets hurt." - Grandma (long before Bill Hicks ever thought of it)
  14. I've found this situation an extreme annoyance since I first started playing the game. I think I even put in a request about it at one point. How I missed the FreeEVA mod?... I don't know. I'm going to check it out though. Thanks for making note of this. Still, what FreeEVA does should IMO be stock game... same with docking cameras. I'm still so patiently waiting for Romfarer to update this mod - or see to it being included stock. Edit: Checked out that mod. Excellent! I'm happy again ... well, partially anyway. Docking cameras.
  15. A PDAM was executed the day before the ISS had its thruster mishap (I even posted about it here in the forums). Nobody seems to have caught that though, everyone was too wrapped up in the thruster misfire event. Edit: Here's the link (I think it's the same I posted)... http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2015/06/iss-dodges-minotaur-debris-pdam/
  16. Just saw this in the news... "... a new hour-long special, "Direct from Pluto: The First Encounter," premiering on the Science Channel on Wednesday, July 15, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. ..." - http://news.yahoo.com/direct-pluto-science-channel-air-horizons-flyby-images-160710295.html
  17. I had a Mun & Minmus science rover which I put mono tanks on and used the puffs to right the rover any time it began to flip. Of course none of this would have been needed if I'd just slow down while driving. They also were a help in driving up steep crater walls, and vice-versa.
  18. The wheels on the rover are fake fake fake ... fake fake fake ... fake fake fake. The wheels on the rover are .......... Sorry, I need another cup of coffee.
  19. The way I see it, it's already an issue. We've got the ISS and other vessels dodging debris. We've numerous incidents of the Shuttle(s) alone with 'paint chip' and other small debris impacts on windows and elsewhere. Between Iridium 33's collision and the other various satellites which have exploded (2 or 3 that I can think of), there's a lot of debris flying around up there ... not to mention all the stuff/rocks that were there to begin with.
  20. Tailfins! Now that would be cool!
  21. I agree. Too bad all the Earth orbiting rocks aren't shown as well.
