  1. And this as of today... [h=1]Google's bug-hunting hacker team is infuriating Microsoft and Apple[/h] Read more: http://www.businessinsider.com/google-tracks-glitches-in-microsoft-apple-adobes-software-2015-2#ixzz3RZ0CXhrd
  2. I landed somewhere about 80km WSW of the Armstrong Memorial and rovered in... there were some decent relatively flat stretches in the area I landed, 1-3 degree pitch.
  3. I just got back from Minmus. I saw fresh Kraken droppings up in the highlands. Beware.
  4. Sure as would be cool if you could! Disney??? lol
  5. With regard to Microsoft: Microsoft is notorious for releasing inferior bug-ridden written-in-haste sloppy code... they wrote the book on it. I spent my entire career (over 35 years) as a computer consultant / systems analyst / applications developer / etc (wore many hats) having to deal with it, and can tell you most assuredly you never buy into the first release of anything Microsoft releases - anyone in the industry can tell you that. Windows is the sloppiest excuse for an OS there is. Remember, DOS was the OS... "Windows" was merely a GUI wrapper thrown around it. And to that effect, it still is. Considering 90% of the people in the world out there are nothing more than "end-users", none of this makes any matter to you, because you have and enjoy and find use for the bells and whistles you've been given. Some are for it, others not. I'm not bashing anyone for it; I'm just saying that if you knew better, you'd hold a different opinion. This is why I state that we've strayed the course of this tool's potential. You've been given an illusion of 'productivity' via crafty media. As for using social media and such for contact, I see and understand the purpose and convenience ... we've come a long way in that respect, cell phones too and what-not. I'm not against it. I too find it easier to call or send a text or leave a message on Facebook. The problem lies (IMO) in that people tend to get carried away with it, start depending on it, when really what they should do is turn the machine off and walk out the door for a change.
  6. What always gives me somewhat of a chuckle, is that everything you see up there - isn't there ... it's all somewhere else right now.
  7. Interesting stuff. Reminds me of tests NASA did not too long ago with pulsed lasers launching a small rocket/cone. If I recall correctly, in years prior, the concerns with beaming microwave energy down to Earth for power systems regarded 'splash'... and that the solution was to base the receivers out in remote unpopulated areas, which defeated the purpose because of the cost/loss of power over long distance transmission lines. I've bookmarked your links for later reading. Thanks.
  8. I have to say, there was a world before the internet/Microsoft existed. (People got invited to parties, because we were always in contact with each other ... by phone, by face-to-face, etc.) The computer is one of the greatest 'tools' ever invented; But we've strayed from its original purpose. This is what happens when you allow Sales & Marketing and greed to dictate and direct. Those that provide have got you by the balls because you live your life thinking "I just can't live without this." ... but you're wrong, because you can, because we did. You are the enabler, because you keep buying into it. When Win10 comes out - refuse it. Go with something else (Linux FTW!). There are always alternatives... and if they're aren't, make/create them... it's how we got here in the first place.
  9. There are 4 other visible light telescopes still up there. Hubble was a landmark, that almost wasn't a number of times, and will be missed... but we're onward to bigger and better things.
  10. I just found this on Imgur. LOLZ!
  11. Just for Mun impacts? I think a nice Science mod would be for asteroid impacts, like a Deep Impact project with impactor and monitoring equipment.
  12. One more Jool moon to map (SCANsat), Laythe, and then I'll have the complete set... the entire Kerbol system. That's a milestone for me. Pleased.
  13. I just de-orbit them into whatever body they're orbiting. A steep descent angle usually insures little to no debris survives... and with low gravity moons, I'll power-descent down into them. Too bad they don't leave impact craters. :/
  14. I had this problem for a while. The two suggestions given are the answer; The Stock Bug Fix modules, and insuring there are no parts near or touching the hatch. One of the things you can do however, if the problem persists, is to make note of your ship's hatch orientation before going EVA. In other words, which direction is the hatch pointing? If it's pointing out towards space (away from the planet/moon), then you'll know to pivot around and face that body because your ship will be in that direction. Understand?
  15. Used it once. Opted for other alternatives after that.
  16. Likewise. I'll use them to put the ship on the desired path, and then click on the 'Stability Assist' button to hold it. The Retrograde hold is nice for descents, on the way down anyway, but you need to click on that Stability Assist just before actual touchdown or else the ship gets all wonky - same if you accidentally apply too much thrust and start ascending. It would be nice if these buttons had some 'brains' with them. Rather than grossly overshooting the intended mark, having to swing back and forth no less than 3 times to hit the mark. Manual is better.
  17. I destroyed two of the runway lights at the end of the runway (with a rover, by accident), can't seem to get them fixed.
  18. I was surprised it wasn't marked as an 'anomaly'. lol
  19. I'd like to see the 'average players' better defined in those graphs; Does it mean those who bought and own it, or those who played it that day, or those who are actively playing it at that moment the data was generated? That other graph, the Google trends graph, I believe is showing current hits/popularity on a search term at a given 'now' moment. LOL... where would KSP stand if 'relative strength' were calculated? Also, cpast made mention about a change in the number of data points after various dates; Often historical values for such things get boiled down to an average - from hourly to daily to monthly.
  20. It was this Gizmodo article that first caught my attention. I forgot to put it in the original post
  21. Then again, having watched us from afar, they may show up after having modeled their entire space program and society after KSP ... like in Galaxy Quest ..... which means there would be several failed landing attempts first, with tremendous explosions.
  22. That's an interesting trend. Should be more interesting to see where it goes in the months following the v1.0 release.
  23. I don't think they'd get as far as KSP... they'd likely die laughing upon seeing Windows.
  24. Announced recently. Apparently there are a few caveats which go along ... as in, they're not all that they're hoped to be. http://www.ubuntu.com/phone
