Kerbal Stuff, an open-source Space Port replacement
SirCmpwn replied to SirCmpwn's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
500 mods! 89 more mods than Curse! -
Head's up - I have removed this from Kerbal Stuff. Do not upload craft files to KS.
-
Can you just host the source code on GitHub? It's not really appropriate for Kerbal Stuff.

No, that wouldn't be why it freezes. Can you email support@kerbalstuff.com to talk about it? -

No, I haven't looked into this yet. It's on my list of things to do when CKAN is ready for stronger integration. -

Looks like there's a problem with mods that have a large number of followers. I'll look into it soon. -

Coming up on some extended downtime (measured in hours). Please bear with me for a moment. -

So an update on the availability. It works great for me, which is super frustrating because it's harder to diagnose. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with linode connectivity with Europe, and I've been talking with their support about it. It's getting fixed, slowly. I am going to move to another host soon - I chose linode because it's cheap and effective but I'm going to end up spending a lot of money on linode anyway. Those of you who are affected by this trouble, please sit tight - I'll be able to do a migration to a service I have more faith in once my next paycheck arrives. Sorry for the trouble! I have never hosted Kerbal Stuff before and I'm still feeling out exactly how to do it right. - - - Updated - - - Sorry I missed this. I manually confirmed your account, you can now log in. In the future, please email support@kerbalstuff.com for issues like this (as suggested by the registration page ). -

Sorry for the bumpy ride, guys. I tripped over a few gotcha's during the new deployment. It's up and running fine now, and I think it'll be fine going into the foreseeable future. -

Switched hosting providers and still feeling out what's best in terms of capability. It'll be rocky until I finalize the details. In fact, it'll be rocky for about 45 minutes right now as I bump the plan on the linode to the next best. I believe that'll be sufficient to handle the current load. - - - Updated - - - And it's back, and with upgraded capacity. -
Kerbal Stuff, an open-source Space Port replacement

I have fixed the issues that were causing the downtime, and also spent some time making the site perform better in general. It should feel snappier now, and no more 502s (famous last words, right). I also spent some time today making the home page a bit more personalized if you're logged in. Check it out! Lastly, we only have 18 mods to go before Kerbal Stuff overtakes Curse as the modding site with the largest mod catalog. Upload that mod you've been meaning to upload, or tell the modders who are slacking off to get on top of it. Let's get the numbers to be the best mod hosting site out there! -

As much as I love Evangelion, I need to put my curator hat on and remove this from Kerbal Stuff. Sorry! -

Or everyone could just calm down and wait patiently for a fix. I'm a busy person and it's only been two days that it's been unstable. -

It's up now. I'll have the issue properly fixed by tonight, there's no need to keep posting about it when it 502's. -

Feel free to keep at it for fun, but don't expect it to be applied to the site. Let's wait a little while before we do another redesign. -
Flags are not appropriate for Kerbal Stuff, which is a website for hosting mods. Please upload it elsewhere.

It just submits a basic CKAN JSON blob as a pull request that can later be modified. Someone from CKAN is working on giving you more say in customization here.
