  1. Since RocketTurtle has completely abandoned us, I'm going to take a page out of Naval Battle Club's book and start a new thread, which will serve the same purpose as this one except with an updated and maintained original post. I'm not one for self-obsessed Tumblresque rants, but.... I'm done. Good luck, SasquatchM is a good guy. Please convince him to open a new thread since this one is nonsense on account of the fact that the OP isn't updated. Good night, forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com.
  2. I've been running additional matches so there will be no question as to the victor, and both combatants are tied up again after five matches, meaning this is STILL not the final video. It is all I can upload tonight, though, and a TECHNICAL but not literal conclusion to the tournament.
  3. Expect it on Saturday. I can not do it on a weekday. Thank you for asking.
  4. I would recommend waiting until April 1st to start that tournament. I have some plans.
  5. Some while ago, on January 1st to be exact, a tournament was started (Check page 51). It took a while, and much technical difficulty, but finally I am proud to present to you, the (almost) complete collection. To satisfy your bloodlust for seeing Kerbal pilots strapped to planes they can't control, built by cruel engineers for the sole purpose of murder, and piloted by merciless robotic killing machines.... Explosions! Combat sports! Betrayal! Romance! Occasionally, suicide! CreativeCombat's Second Top Gun AI tournament! (The first one was better.) Final round in production, I'm going to make it something special. Tell me what I did great! Tell me what I did wrong! Please give me some criticism so I can improve as a tournament host, I'm in dire need of it! I'm not just magically going to get better, it's not like you're going to hurt my feelings. Complete tournament playlist! Or individual videos, if you prefer! 6. What is this? What is this doing in the challenge thread? What does this have anything to do with anything.
  7. Wait for the next tournament to roll around. Should be mid-March or early April, depending. Unless someone else decides to run a tournament, that is. The tournament was started before competition mode was released, and updating it mid-tournament would be unfair to everyone involved. I would hazard a guess that all future tournaments will use competition mode. I can tell you that mine certainly will. It is.

  9. Tournament is still on. The lovely Doctor Davinci has volunteered to film the process on his rig, which I am incapable of doing. I have spent the past few days attempting to run it on my computer, using a time warp control mod to set physics warp to 0.1 and then accelerating the footage in post-production, but decided this would not be possible as the game can not handle running itself, the four planes, and the recording software simultaneously without an extremely high risk of crashing. It was further frustrated by the fact that attempting to perform good camera work at 10% speed was impossible for me, and I calculated that to film the entire thing, all the way through, at 10% speed would take 29 hours in total (5 minutes for each match at regular speed would be 50 minutes for each at 10% speed, 5 matches per round, 7 rounds in total). I've therefore decided it would be best to let Davinci film the whole thing, which he has kindly volunteered to do. I hope that you will enjoy his production, and that the entire thing can be completed before March as per the deadline described in the rules post on Page 51. Never mind. The tournament is not dead yet.
  10. My computer has finally been fixed after approximately nineteen days of being either completely unusable, or in the ever-swift-to-fix hands of GeekSquad. I just have to film the tournament now and it will finally be done with and ready for your viewing pleasure. EDIT: Assuming they actually fixed it, that is. EDIT 2: Which it turns out they didn't.
  11. I appreciate the offer, it means a lot to me, but I'd prefer to do it myself so that I'll be in control of the camera.
  12. Computer is on the fritz. It froze and blue screened from the stress of inspecting submissions in the hangar. I can't really film the tournament with it being in this state, so I'm sending it into the shop around Valentine's day to get it fixed. Until then, I can't film the tournament. I'm just going off of pictures here since I can't load the planes. Thanks for putting the pictures behind spoilers, that helps a lot. The AI settings are wrong but other than that everything looks to be okay. Glad to see something as crazy as a MK3 fighter coming into the fight. The swept wing is still clipped into the type A wing, which is the same reason the Empress-63 was disqualified. Everything else looks good, the radiators are a nice addition too. It's cool to see 'armored' planes coming out. Looks good. Looks good. For some strange reason, the images on the KerbalX page aren't loading so I can't say anything about this one. I'll edit this post when my computer decides to be a friend again. This leaves me in the awkward position of having nine submissions in a tournament for exponents of two, though. I don't want to cut anyone out, but I can't just inject seven planes into the tournament, either. This leads me to believe that the submission deadline could do with an extension, especially since it won't slow down production of the tournament at all. However, I'm afraid this would be unfair to those who have already made their submissions. To those who have already made a submission, would it be alright with you if I extended the deadline to the sixteenth? Thank you for your continued patience.
  13. Similar to how you would install a mod. First, create the craft. Then go to your KSP_Win folder, the same way you got to GameData when you were installing BDArmory, and go to Saves. Then go to the save you created the ship in, open the "Ships" folder, open the "SPH" folder, select the craft file of the ship you created, copy it, publicize it through any of the file sharing methods described above. Then post the link in the thread as per "Tournament Submission Guidelines" on page 51. Do make sure you've included a picture with your post. You can do that by pressing F1 while looking at the ship in the spaceplane hangar, then find that image by going to KSP_Win and going to "Screenshots". Upload it to Imgur and post the link to the Imgur upload along with your craft file in the thread. Also be sure to follow the naming conventions outlined on Page 51. Thank you for your interest. Good luck.
  14. Yes. Using RCS is fine. Yes, but there shouldn't be seeing as this is supposed to be a compilation thread. I blame OP for being inactive. Stock and BDArmory only, no B9. Designing a fighter in FAR for a competition that's being held with stock aerodynamics would not be a good idea, though I can't stop you from doing so. Submit designs by whatever means necessary, Dropbox, Media fire, KerbalX, whatever works. I prefer dropbox or media fire. Read the rules on page 51 very, very carefully before you make your submission. It also will have to be submitted BEFORE FEBRUARY 1ST ACCORDING TO PACIFIC STANDARD TIME, or it won't fly in this tournament. If you'd like tips and tricks on how to build a good plane, I'd highly recommend watching the last tournament that was run.
  15. I'm using the version I installed when the tournament began, rather than the new one. As you like it. Just be mindful that the cutoff date is February 1st.
  16. You're welcome to if you like. I personally believe you'd have an easier time editing the relatively minor clipping out of the Empress while retaining aesthetic integrity than starting again from scratch. Maybe putting a second pair of swept wings underneath the first one, offset a degree down relative to the way the original pair were attached, would make it look more appealing? You are free to do design a new plane if you would prefer, just as long as your submission comes in before February 1st.
  17. Submission inspected and accepted. I used the offset tool to move the swept wings one increment upward to resolve the clipping as depicted here. I can't tell you how good it is to see a submission from a fresh player, especially a good one! I pray it does well, and that you'll stick around for more tournaments in the future. Best wishes! I'll allow it if you'd like me to, but with your permission, I would prefer to deploy this plane as a separate team in order to fill out slots in the tournament. If I do that, it will be fighting your other submission in the first round. Is this alright with you? If we get enough submissions that doing this isn't necessary, then I will replace your second plane with this one. Same goes to you.
  18. I believe attaching the shock come to the rear of the rapier allowed you to break the sound barrier from the increased intake air more than from reduced drag. If you want to make it go faster still, try replacing those mk0 fuselages to reduce drag further.
  19. Submission inspected and accepted. No edits were necessary. This plane is wonderful and silly, and I love it for that. Fabulously ridiculous. Submission inspected and accepted. Edits made were extreme and extensive, but only involved the wings. The edits made were necessary on account of the clipping inherent to the original version. I'm sorry, but I can't rightly accept something as clipped as the original version was when I have been negotiating with BlueCanary over his comparatively minor wing clipping with the Anduril. Video of clipped version can be found here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtgBgG-xxWg&feature=youtu.be Craft file here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/31kc4st9mszfrfp/SasquatchM%20-%201%20-%20Coral%20Mk2.craft?dl=0 I would find it understandable if you prefer the modified version not be flown in the tournament at all, but I could not accept the original version submitted due to its clipping.
  20. That last picture is positively gorgeous. what aesthetic mods do you have installed to make it look like that?
  21. I should. I'm planning to make a Gentlemen's Aerial Battle Club thread at the conclusion of this tournament, to compile the numerous threads there are currently. Theres been at least seven so far, and four of those are active and bouncing around the front page. Suggestions for what to put in the OP would be appreciated. I would prefer to let tournament hosts decide the rules for their tournaments on an individual basis, but I'm not sure how to describe such a system clearly and efficiently in a single post, or even how such a thing might work.
