  1. Wow. It really took my breath away. Recognized most of the locations.
  2. Guys we have a model of the Endurance complete with the Ranger and Lander on the space engine addon page! http://en.spaceengine.org/forum/17-1558-1 Pic(courtesy of DoctorOfSpace):
  3. Please explain then. I am eager to know. - - - Updated - - - Thanks! But what distance is Miller's planet from the event horizon then? We know it is outside the accretion disc too.
  4. So I know that i the movie Interstellar, Miller's planet was on the edge of the event horizon of Gargantua. I read somewhere that technically, the tidal forces should've ripped it apart. I want to calculate if that is true. I already found out the mass of Miller(1.3xEarth mass), mass of Gargantua(100 million times of the Sun), however I still need the distance between Gargantua's singularity to the surface of Miller's planet, as well as Miller's Radius. Help me out please? When done, I'll post my calculation. As the 2 points of tidal pull, I took the opposite middles of Miller's radius. After I find out the difference in the forces, I need to find out if Miller's would survive that difference elastically. I need help on that too.
  5. My pack has almost finished testing phase, and I am almost done filming. This thing is coming along nicely. Might be the best thing I've ever done.
  6. Yup. I am also making a cinematic sort-of accompanying my new interplanetary pack. I really like the Selene, especially the stage separations!
  7. My jaw just dropped on the floor upon seeing the new parts.
  8. Wow, that is epic! 581 is nothing. You can still have 500 more parts and have reasonable framerates more or less. One guy made the Icarus II from Sunshine which had 2800+ parts...
  9. I used a modified version of the Cira IV and a Saturn V by Majorjim. And holy hell RogueMason, that Endurance is epic! I hope you finish it and it will be the best ship ever.
  10. How do we find the elasticity of Miller's planet? I just want to do my own calculations and find out if it would withstand the tidal forces.
  11. Dude, it WAS rotating. Pay attention. The stars are obvs. whirling in that shot.
  12. To me it's funny how everyone thinks the reason for the officer to shoot him is just because he was black. The charges should be dropped. You shouldn't go around with a fake weapon pointing it at the police.
  13. I presume this part isn't a spoiler, but read with caution: Who else raised an eyebrow during the "they faked the Moon landings" part? As in what about all the other space stuff we made and put in space? All those gajillions of satellites? Even ignoring those (they didn't go to the MOON, after all...), this film's gonna be out of date as soon as SpaceX, China, or somebody else lands someone on the Moon, especially if they touch down and find an old, faded flag and lander base sitting there. Read 1984. They did just that-remake history. Replacing every historical source in existence to warp history.
  14. The cylinder was rotaing at around 4-5 rpm, we see that during the final shot of Cooper preparing to fly away from the station in the Ranger.
  15. Before a crazy USSR project back in the 1930's, now a real prototype. I present you: HT-95 LEVKOV The levitating tank What it can do: Hover, allowing the tank to strafe left, right, back and forward and even diagonally Go up to 40km to escape the battlefield Land safely with parachutes in case of emergency Provide protection for the KSC The Levkov can use optional RCS thrusters to fine-tune its' movement. Action groups: 2-Extend antennas 3-Activate ECM jammer G-Extend optional wheels Specs: 8 Turbojet engines Lights Antennas Incredible armor(survives orbital drop) 320 parts 30+ tons A bunch of correctional RCS thrusters Landing gear for the careful Parachutes ECM one-directional jammer Small railgun SABOT shell cannon How to operate: Activate the engines. Throttle up to approx. 1/3 throttle. 1/3 is hover, just a pinch more is ascend. Use RCS and the K & I keys to translate up & down to accurately levitate. You can use H & N to move forward and back, and J & L to strafe left and right. Pressing spacebar releases the chutes in case of emergency. Download
  16. Never seen that poster on official sources. Must be fake. And an Atlas V can't launch 2 Rangers, only a small satellite or probe.
  17. Looks a lot like the Saturn V. And yes, the 2 Rangers were launched belly-to-belly on top, which is why they did a launch in the first place instead of taking off with the Rangers one by one and using up the special and expensive fuel the Rangers used.
  18. The stars are like a tease to us. So many exoplanets to go to, yet so far. Painfully far. I wish I could live up until the moment reaching them is possible.
  19. TARS and CASE were the best robots ever.
  20. Once you learn to casually hover at 1/3 throttle, you're good to go. I might make a cannon that actually works(single fire). And btw, I want to keep the engines, since it was basically what I was aiming for. I like how they look.
  21. I like how teo always put hmm.... randomly in his posts
