Part 8: The Game Bugged. Imgur Bugged. Everything is Bugged. IMGUR isn't working today. I'll edit pics later. I De-oribted the E.V.E.N. Satellite on the whim of a Juicy contract to enter the atmosphere. She had a good run, olde EVEN, but it was time to go. I Did several Ike landings with the small lander left on Hyperion. Unfortunatley, of the 10 Kerbals I took on that mother-ship, only 2 of them were scientists, and one of those scientists is on the surface of Duna. I kept getting contracts for Dres. Orbital Survey. Science Data. Magentic Feild Scans. I just kept taking them. The DRESDEN was a beast of a probe and was working great. I did some stuff on the Mun too. I built this flying rover using the Monopropellant Engines and took Val out to do some seismic surveys not far from my Mun base. With that, I Finally had enough funds to get that shiny T3 R&D and unlock the ISRU. I went to check up on my Kontracts after that, and saw that they had all disappeared. So apparently the SF got hit with a bug or something. All my Kontracts went missing, and the archive is empty... Seemingly I can take new ones, but I don't know what happened to the old ones, or the archive. This means I'm gyped out of at least a million funds. So I think I might just SFE the save file add a bunch of money or just convert it into a sandbox save, build a big ship and land on every planet before 1.1 comes out.

+1 This. I can do without them on the 6-part panels. But the Gigantors really could use one. I'm sure a simple config change could add them and allow them to be surface attached too.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!
Kuansenhama replied to Mastodon's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Went to space today. But I don't think even the great Jedediah can get them out of this one. -
Why are batteries dangerous? What's a musician's favorite vegetable? And how do musicians communicate? Why did the tree go to the dermatologist before the orthodontist? Why did the baby join the army? Why did the bear dissolve in water? What did the one ocean say to the other ocean? Do you want to hear some of my astronomy jokes? Or maybe my martial arts jokes... I have a joke about a vacuum cleaner. ... Hahaha! I'm gonna get some bad Karma for this one.

Mods in Stock
Kuansenhama replied to Choctofliatrio2.0's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
KER, Waypoint Manager, and the stabilized physics load from KJR. -
First Spoiler: DRESDEN at Dres Second Spoiler: Hyperion At Duna. (Disaster) Moral of the story: If you try to recreate a previous disaster, it will happen again. Next time: The Hyperion will continue its mission and deploy Landers on Ike. The DRESDEN will land on Dres even though it is not designed to. Heck if I know. Honestly this is hard career and I didn't think I'd make it this far.

7/10. I don't know what game that is from so I can't say for sure if it's a good design or not, but I like the orange and blue.

Glue your fingers together.

Great. The chair in my kitchen probably has even worse battery life than my current phone. The object the south of you is 10x larger but has the same mass.

Strategies should be important
Kuansenhama replied to a topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I +1 This. Just removing or greatly reducing the setup costs or making the conversion rates a little bit better is all I ask, but being able to specialize your space program based upon what you like to do would be nice. I never use strategies until (Like the OP said Research Rights Sell out 100% in the endgame.) -
?Fixing Wheels (Bug or what)
Kuansenhama replied to Kuansenhama's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Well when I mouse over a L1 Engineer it says I can only repack chutes. L2 Engi says repack chutes + fix wheels. So it is saying 'What this engineer can do'. Maybe having an overstaffed astronaut complex is the problem. -Tried: Reloading the game (Doesn't work) -Reloading the base. (Doesn't work) -Upgrading astronaut housing. (Doesn't work) -
I don't really know if this goes under gameplay questions or game support. In the astronaut complex it says 2-star engineers should be able to repack parachutes and fix wheels. But when I go to try and do it, it says I need to be level 3. I am playing with mods but none of the mods impact Kerbals in any way other than Finalfronteir that give them ribbons for accomplishments.

Nobody seems interested in just hiring Kerbals out the astronaut complex, and I don't blame anyone since they get to be so bloody expensive once you have ten or more. So we go take all the rescue contracts and rescue our extended Krews. Then it turns out we don't get the profession we need? It's a total lose-lose.

I think the best defense would be to not have one system, but have many less advanced systems of defense. Space travel is hard enough as it is, and if you add numerous small annoying obstacles to even an overwhelming attacking force, they might just give up, say "it's not worth it going after that planet, It's not that it's impenetrable, it's just a headache!". In other words, your defense is going to be a series of ankle-biting traps. -Obviously, detection is a start. nanobots, telescopes, scanners, and a lot of them. In fact, this might be the most important step, particularly if you're dealing with a cunning faction. It would only take one disease bomb snuck past the gate to murder your entire planets' population and allow the aliens to take over. Depending upon the amount of time it takes them to get from the edge of your detection range to your planet, and how much you know about them, you might have time to prepare defenses suited to their approach. -Harass them in space. Solar powered laser weaponry seems to be the way to go here. If this is softer sci fi, you could fire something that moves faster than light. Some kind of electromagnetic pulse/ion cannon to disable their electronics might be nice too. -Orbital harassment. Guarding your planet you want your defensive space stations, missile platforms, your space battle fleet, more lasers (whatever you can muster, really). I'd stay away from the 'Kessler bomb' Idea since you would also be trapping yourself on the planet in the process. -Planetary Sheilding. In softer sci fi, where you have energy shields, you could consider putting a shield around the entire planet. Sheilds usually use a lot of power, so you might need a Phlebodium reactor or something. -Underground Defenses and bases. You need to go deep to stay away from 'Rods from the gods' orbital strikes and the likes. If you're rooted in anywhere from dozens to thousands of underground bunkers, it's going to devolve into a ground game where you have the home field advantage. This will probably take the longest and be the most annoying for your enemy. (I also doubt any enemy with sense would hurl a large asteroid at your planet. Doing so would destroy the biosphere and leave nothing for them to take over.) Other ways around having to defend a planet. -Diplomacy. -Keep your entire (or a majority) of your assets on spacecraft and just move them to where you want to go. -Spread your assets out across multiple worlds, that way there isn't one planet that gets singled out for attack. If you controlled a system of planets, and each one had their own set of annoying traps, nobody in their right mind would mess with you.

I will laugh if someone posts the live-action movie as a counter.

I had an issue like this on mac. I think that this occurs when mods are installed improperly. Make sure all of your mods are coming from the correct folder, particularly if you're using Kopernicus and a planets pack. If I remember correctly I had a very similar bug to this at one point, and it was because of a planet's pack that was installed improperly.

More nuclear propulsion, why not?
