The Quest For Second Kerbin (Idea)
Kuansenhama replied to Tardigrade19's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
This isn't exactly a challenge, though if you want to try something like this, you could download Extraplanetary Launchpads and Civilian Population (If it's still maintained). Build a large base and set up shop on whatever planet you want. Then just bomb KSC with rockets or don't touch it and operate only out of your new base. -
Do something nobody has done before
Kuansenhama replied to quasarrgames's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I made a plane powered by machine guns. Flew for a bit, but ran out of ammo fuel. -
nah sorry. But @Nerfclasher you look like you've been frequenting these parts quite a lot...

Refine current systems. The more the base game is refined and cleaned up, the more stable it'll be. The more stable the core game is the more stable modded installs will be. The advantage the developers have is that they have such a wonderful and dedicated modding community. Players can pick and choose what they want out of their experience. The core experience is enough to hook players. But the mods let them really do what they want to do. People can always install OPM, NFT, and USI Kolonization if they want a bigger scope in the game. People can always install TACLS, KIS, and Dmagic if they want more depth to the game. People cannot always fix random crashes, errors, bugs. Squad can fix bugs in the game. Modders can fix bugs in their mods. Admittedly I'd like to see the stock game (career) re-balanced too. Strategies are expensive as heck IMO, tourism contracts are a hassle. (Bildo Kerman's Travel Itinerary: Suborbital Spaceflight over the sun, Land on Eve, Fly by Eeloo.) The 2.5M tanks need an art pass too.

Rescue Contracts = Free Kerbals. Most everyone knows that. But if you really want to reap the full benefits of them in a time-efficient manner, build a rig like this with a bunch of rescue spacecraft you can detach at a moments notice, place it in a 300-500 km circular orbit over kerbin and rake the kerbals in. It's a bit more inefficent in terms of money but its a huge time saver not having to launch a new vessel every time you need to rescue. -Decouplers can snap over a heat shield. (Not have that white fairing around them.) Lower profile spacecraft. Also, I've never needed a HS with more than 1/2 the regular amount of ablator. -Take the monoprop out of a pod if you're not using it. Very useful when getting that first orbiter up.

Searching people for a Modded "Space Race" Multiplayer Career
Kuansenhama replied to Pkmniako's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Amount of free time: Varies greatly. Sometimes I have work/college take up the whole day. Other days I can have nothing to do all day. Weekends are usually free. Ability to open a server if needed: No idea how, and computer is probably not good enough. Any mods you recommend/dislike: I love KIS/KAS but I've always had bad luck with frequent crashes. I also think we should use stock solar system instead of K2, but if I get outvoted, it's ok if we still use these mods. Also maybe replace Procedural parts/Tweakscale with FTP and SpaceY. Just speaking from personal preference and experience there. You get a wider variety of fuel tanks and the option to build bigger rockets. Where you live (So it's know when each one can play): Michigan- 26 replies

I Know how to use adobe illustrator. I can do it. Here U are Let me know if this isn't what you wanted.

Docking the truss section to your station and opening the solar panels. (Worst feeling in KSP is when one of those panels immediately proceeds to orient itself so that it clips through another module)

What screen capture/gameplay recorder do you use?
Kuansenhama replied to Kuansenhama's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Can someone please give me a download link to OBS? -
No point in making a bloated post: To those of you who have made KSP videos and uploaded them to youtube/twitch, I want to know, what program do you use to record your gameplay, is it free, and where can I download it? ~ I'm on windows. ~ Free software is preferable, Monthly subscription is a big no-no.

I used to play it, and still get on every once in awhile. But my life has gotten busier. (and I got fallout 4) Also, don't expect replies to a fourm in an hours time. Generally with web fourms wait 12-24 hours before you even begin to assume nobody has replied, longer if your topic/question is more obscure.

mega space station
Kuansenhama replied to TheGuyNamedAlan's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Found the screenie This ship was 230 something meters long if I remember correctly, mst of the length came from 15M FTP tanks in sections of 3. Those solar panels at the end are the largest panels available from NFS, for a sense of scale. This thing was huge (though I think it had a rhino on the back end) it was pretty much immovable. -
Ya know how your flag can appear on some parts? (All the stock command modules, and quite a few modded parts make use of this). Can someone please make me a part that is just a lightweight metal panel that you stick onto the side of your ship, but has no function outside of displaying your flag where you want it. (Ideally with the longer dimension of the flag being ~.75m) I need to stop posting the part ideas that come to me while I'm in the shower.

Ksp version 1.2
Kuansenhama replied to Jeb-head-mug kerman's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Supposedly we're getting an overhaul of the stock parts to make them look prettier. (My info may be wrong.) But those ugly 2.5M tanks need to be fixed, yo. -
Kerbals are obviously the result of the hybridization of minions and blue Pikmin.

mega space station
Kuansenhama replied to TheGuyNamedAlan's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Physics load range is 2.3KM from the 'center' of your craft. So you would go out of load distance not far from the center. If load distance wasn't an issue then, using stock parts. (The longest MK3 Fuselages are 10m long.) Minmus has a radius of (uhh 20km I think) So you'd need 4,000 (With 1.1 and a very beefy PC, 4k parts isn't completely out of the realm of possibility) but keep in mind you'd have to launch those 4,000 fuselages in one go (without docking ports in-between.). If you created a system that launched (say 100m sections) and discarded all the RCS and SAS once docked to save on part count, you could theoretically do it with 4,400 parts. MK3 fuselages just to make a craft as long as Minimus is big, and it'd be a toothpick. If you wanted to make it 'as big' as minmus, you'd need to go bigger. You could make a cube out of the aforementioned 4,000 fuselage-long sections on each edge, resulting in a 48,000 part craft. (probably upwards of 50,000 parts if there's docking ports in there.) You see where this is going, the number of parts you need gets pretty quick. But the station is still not technically as big as minmus, but, obviously the part count of this station gets large pretty quick. Keep in mind that normally, you could have dozens of craft 'Inside' this hypercube station and not even within loading distance of one another in the stock game. If you got tweakscale or just created some absurdly big modded parts, then the task probably becomes a lot easier. My question is what you intend to use your station for. -
Nah. Maybe nobody else until Spaceplane addict comes around agian.

You Will Not Go To Space Today - Post your fails here!

No Pics, but Bill, Bob and Jeb burned up coming home from the mun today. Hard career is brutal. Down to one orange-suit already, but there's always rescue contracts. -
Scott Manley's greatest Kerbal Space Program series
Kuansenhama replied to KerbalCorgi's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Serious Buisness. Tutorials were well done, but I'd already been playing for a year when his career play-through hit. Watched a bit of both Reusable and Interstellar quest. They were good, but not good enough for me to make the time commitment to watch every episode. -
[1.8.1 - 1.12.5] Interstellar Fuel Switch (IFS) 3.29.5
Kuansenhama replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
At first I thought that was the problem. Not sure if IFS or CCC is causing this problem. Edit: Nevermind. CCC wasn't updated. Just pretend I'm not here.- 1,187 replies
