  1. All I got is... a deaf ear?
  2. A catapult or trebuchet. Edit: Replied to my e-mail notification - should've checked the whole thread first....
  3. Today I sent a trio of ill-fated ships to the Jool system in an attempt to fulfill several contracts in my .90 save. First to go, the Laythe colony ship. I was in the middle of Jool's SoI, burning to make orbit, when my wife called me for something - long story short, I got distracted, and when I came back to the game, the Laythe ship had completely reversed its direction and would eventually escape Jool from whence it came. So with much less fuel left than planned, I used what was left to dive it into Jool (which I have never done before). Got some science, lost a poor Kerbal who tried an EVA, and found a really weird graphics glitch before the ship was destroyed. Next, the Tylo lander (yeah, you can see where this one's going). Great orbit, textbook descent until just above the ground. I had too much horizontal velocity when I hit the ground, though, so the ship destroyed itself on impact (again). Now, the lander can survived, but its antenna was destroyed, so it's going to take another ship to actually finish the "Explore Tylo," contract. Hit F9 and try again, you say? Yeah, well, guess who neglected to hit F5 before trying this landing in the first place? Mm hmm - that would be me. One day I will actually land a ship on Tylo, intact, but it is not this day. At least the two Kerbals there planted a flag, and still have a tiny place to call home. Finally, some Kerbals who just didn't know when to quit. They successfully landed a Pol surface outpost, then transmitted some science from Vall space, and then valiantly went down with the ship trying to make a landing on Vall with their remaining inadequate fuel supply. I could have left them in Vall orbit, but they really wanted to go for it, and who argues with a BadS Kerbal?
  4. Just one - most of the rest had Steam anyway, and knew about it before I did.
  5. Just an FYI - under Forum Games is a huge Riddles thread that's been around for a while now - you should check it out if you haven't already.
  6. Didja hear the one about the girl with the runny nose? You might think it's funny, but it's snot.
  7. I think the 80's and 90's have already been covered. Except for Flash Gordon.... I have to second Forbidden Planet.
  8. I like that one. How many singers does it take to change a light bulb? Only one, but she just holds onto the bulb and expects the world to revolve around her.... Okay, I'm done for a while.
  9. Music-related again... What do you do when a bass player knocks on your door? Pay him and take your pizza.
  10. All the possible parallel universes?
  11. My two most common transgressions: Using RCS to get my ships rotating, but using a quick time warp to stop them. It's just so convenient! Rather than waiting to launch when a window opens, I'll put a ship in orbit first, then time warp it to the window I want. "A year in orbit first? Sure! No problem!"
  12. Most of this was done in previous versions of KSP - I'm still getting my career going in .90. I've landed Kerbals on every planet and moon possible, but I've only returned them from the Mun, Minmus, Duna, Ike, and Gilly so far. I've placed science satellites around every body in the system. I've also made exactly two successful spaceplane designs, but I am now a pro at designing planes that don't fly. And I have created dozens of fiery explosions, watched dozens of spacecraft run out of power permanently, and destroyed so many rockets on the launch pad that I lost track a long time ago.
  13. I think I've crashed somebody into every planet and moon in the whole system, numerous times, except for Jool and the Sun (but don't quote me on that). And even into an asteroid or three. As for the game, I run stock and can only recall a few crashes, mostly when my obsolete graphics card decides that it has had enough.
  14. In my .90 career save, I finally built a spacecraft to complete the "Explore Eve," contract. Got all the way to Eve orbit, undocked the lander, and wondered why in the world it had no fuel. I realized far too late that I had forgotten to disable the docking port crossfeed (again). I skimped on chutes but went for the landing anyway, using RCS after the chutes deployed. It wasn't enough. The ship disintegrated when it hit the water - I completed the contract but ended up with three Kerbals stuck in the ocean in a capsule with no power and debris floating all around them. I terminated the flight since I couldn't do anything else but leave them sitting there forever. Not my proudest Kerbal moment.
  15. Water (which takes the form of what surrounds it)?
  16. Today I flew around Kerbin completing scans and science stuff. During one of my takeoffs, the Mun and Minmus (just to the left of the Mun) were right in front of me: Seeing the Mun there wasn't too unusual, but seeing Minmus there too is a first for me. I thought it was pretty cool.
  17. I think I've found a bug in .90, but I'm not sure. I've been doing a lot of science missions to the Mun and Minmus, but I only started using the science lab when an outpost contract called for one. After I use the lab to analyze any science data, I get this glitch - the right hand side of the window is always goofed up (in the stock game - no mods): The buttons are still clickable, and nothing screws up in the game, but it always looks wrong. Anyone else?
  18. Today I unlocked enough stuff in my .90 career save to get a plane up and around for Jeb to make several visual surveys before running out of fuel. It's not the prettiest plane, but here it is. That picture was taken after the plane had run out of fuel, in the dark, and just a few meters above the water (wouldn't you know it had to conk out over water). I tried to get my speed down, but the plane still disintegrated when it hit. Jeb was okay, though, and I fulfilled several contracts all with one long-distance flight. Now I have enough money to start upgrading buildings and stuff, which is great, because I was starting to tire of grinding the "test part" contracts.
  19. A chromosome. (If not, I give up.)
  20. Today I sent my first spaceplane to the Jool system to make a Laythe landing. Things were going very well, I had just topped off my plane, and I had time to grab this screenshot on the way in. Then things fell apart, pretty much. I'm still running a stock game, so re-entry was fine, but when I tried to restart my RAPIER, I couldn't - right-clicking on the RAPIER did nothing, so I had no way to make it to land. I wound up ditching in the ocean, and breaking off the wings, engine, and nosecone. And apparently you shouldn't get a PB-NUK wet, or your batteries, because I didn't have enough charge to transmit any of my science, so to finish the "Explore Laythe" contract, I'm going to have to go there again. And poor Meatball (Mitbal) has a heck of a swim if he wants to get to dry land. Do RAPIERS not work on Laythe?
  21. Is it water, in different forms (clouds, rain, waves, etc.)?
